A lot you can throw at the club but not this.. Ricardo is out of contract and been knackered for ages, he's been awful this season.. they aren't "forcing him to retire" to save face ffs.. would you rather they extended his contract???

That was half-joking hyperbole, but this is exactly the same as last season with Vardy was my point.

Turn the final game into a testimonial to make anyone giving them deserved flack look bad and gain them sympathy.

100% this.

Pretty sure he'd have retired regardless of the clubs state.

We have seen a slow decline of an amazing player. If anything, he's probably gone a year too late if truth be known.

One of the very few players I am gutted will be associated with this seasons calamity.

Not that they deserve it, but I'm at least glad that the only youth players involved are probably already numb to the booing that the team is going to deservedly get. As much as I'd like to have seen the other youngsters who deserve gametime get minutes over the senior bozos, they don't deserve to be tainted with the association with the rest of them.

As for the likes of Monga and Page, I hope they understand it's not aimed at them. Or Souttar. lol

Anyway, giving it a miss as WhatsApp that point? The games for the playoff and automatics are far more interesting viewing than watching us today.

It isn't exactly the same at all??? I doubt most people will even be bothered it's Ricardo's last game..

Why would they think it’s at them? they have barely been involved and their parents probably feel the same way about the rest of the squad

That's bollocks. Fair enough you missed the heavy sarcasm in the first sentence of my previous comment, but this now will be the Ricardo testimonial. And that is a cynical ploy from the club to deflect from their failings and use him as a human shield.

He’s such a spineless manager, just play our youth - do one good thing after getting us relegated and let young players that we actually desperately will rely on next year to get some more senior minutes.

Thanks for being patronising, sorry I "missed your sarcasm" which is what people tend to say when they're called out for chatting shit..

The club have let fans know hat a reasonable servant of of 8 years is leaving, there isn't anything wrong with that, I don't think it's deflective or a PR exercise, nor do I think it carries the same emotional heft as Vardy leaving..

No pint risking any injuries to the younger lads not in the squad for a game that no one cares about . Wait for pre season when all the over paid dross has gone and thy have a proper chance to get a few games in

Just keeping yuff injury free so we can sell the lot for 10% of what they could be worth. Rudkins fingers all over this selection.

I set an alarm to make sure I watched this.  Even though I couldn't give myself one good reason.

Maybe just because it feels like the end of an era.  Which certainly had its moments.  And it wouldn't be right to swerve the burial.

EDIT:  10 EFL matches streaming and we are not one of them!

I'm not going to look for a virus-infested stream to watch this mess.  And I'm sure as hell not going to watch Wrexham.

See y'all next season?  Doubtful.

I said fair enough that you missed the sarcasm.

If I worded it without the levity and contempt, I would have said typical of this club to use Ricardo's retirement to try and take some of the heat off them just as they did with Vardy last season.

I think you're underestimating Ricardo's impact as he's the last of a great team we still have left and most will now be in testimonial mode out of respect for him.

Why you want to defend this revolting regime I do not know...

I'm not defending them at all, I'm a staunch KP Outer.. But this just isn't remotely the same as last year.. Ricardo will probably get applause from that end for an hour and a half, but I think if anything you're overestimating his impact if you're comparing this scenario to Vardy leaving.. it absolutely will not take the heat off the ownership in a grander sense, it can't disract in the same way because it carries so much less weight..

There is no reason whatsoever for any player who won't be here next season to be in the squad today other then Pereira who has earned some kind of send off

Ridiculous to have the likes of Daka, Ayew, and Mukasa in the squad and not give Otchere or Hutchinson a chance in a completely meaningless game

i do usually suggest moderation with youngsters in cup games for it to gel (like we’ve gelled in any way this season). But Gray alongside Souttar, Aluko at LB, Silko on the wing still has a senior around them. Ridiculous waste to give Mukasa and James bench places that Hutchinson, Briggs, Otcherr etc could have.

Mavididi? There has never been a time in the clubs history where you could put in any less and still be picked to start and I include Josh low in that - he had absolutely no ability but at least tracked his man for 90 minutes.

Purely about Rowett’s career points per game ratio, selfish ****.
