We can confirm that 10 Men’s First Team players will depart Leicester City Football Club upon the expiration of their contracts this summer.

Among those is captain Ricardo Pereira, who made 220 appearances for us across eight seasons since joining from Porto in his native Portugal in the summer of 2018.

Ricardo was part of the squads that won the 2021 Emirates FA Cup and the FA Community Shield later that same year. He also found the net 15 times from right-back – none more memorable than the late UEFA Conference League Quarter-Final winner away at PSV Eindhoven in 2022, as well as lifting the 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship title.

Alongside Ricardo, strikers Patson Daka and Jordan Ayew, defender Jamaal Lascelles and Academy graduate Wanya Marçal will also leave us at the end of the season following the expiration of their contracts.

Goalkeeper Asmir Begović’s contract is also due to expire this summer, but he remains in discussions with us about the possibility of extending his stay at King Power Stadium.

In addition to those players, the loan spells of Jordan JamesAaron RamseyJoe AriboDujuan Richards and Divine Mukasa will all end and see the players return to their parent clubs.

We have also exercised options to extend the contracts of five players from our Academy - midfielders Henry Cartwright, 21, Tommy Neale, 20 and Ryan Donnelly, 19, and defenders Thomas Wilson-Brown, 21, and Reiss Khela, 19.

Contract offers have also been made to goalkeepers Stevie Bausor and Harry French, both 20, defenders Mirsad Ali, 20 and Bobby Amartey, 19, midfielders Silko Thomas and Logan Briggs, both 21 and forward Josh King, 20.

Meanwhile we can also confirm that goalkeeper Jake Donohue, 20, defender Jahmari Lindsay, 21, midfielders Alfie Fisken, 20, Toby Onanaye, 19 and Olaoluwa Omobolaji, 18 and striker Chris Popov, 21, will be leaving the Football Club.

We would like to thank all players who are leaving us for their contributions during their time on Filbert Way and wish them the very best for the future.

"Strikers" Daka and Ayew... lol

Daka in particular has turned out to be one of the worst pieces of business in club history.

Shame about Marçal, I think we could've done with him.

It was pretty much clear that James wouldn't want to play for us in League One.

That highly likely means we're stuck with Winks and Skipp for another year. Jeebus. Please, make those transfers happen.

As for other loanees, Aribo was utterly pointless. He's played how many games for us?

Now get deals sorted for Faes, Coulibaly, BDCR, Mavididi, Vieites, Okoli, Kristiansen, Choudhury and Golding.

Too many late teen/early 20s players getting contracts in my opinions, couple deserve them and stand a chance of first team but others are just making up numbers and blocking game Time in under 21 football for the younger lads.

Need to have some to fill out the squad though

Better to have them sat on the bench/edge of the squad not playing than younger players who are better off actually playing in the under 18s

Of the 12 mentioned, probably at least half of them are going to either be in and around the first team or loaned out as well

There’s a few of them that probably stand a good chance of being involved depending on how ****ed we are

I suspect that we just need bodies and they'll be fine on the bench in League One

None of the players mentioned am I particularly bothered about.

perhaps Logan briggs who probably needs a loan move or perhaps he’s weighing his options at other clubs.

What's the saying? "It's hope that dies last."
