Pep struggled to find a solution without Rodri, and following Pep was always gonna be a tough ask. Think Maresca will struggle.

 

Edit: Having said that they've had some big missed chances today and probably win 3-1 on another day.

They'll buy their way out of trouble, same as they did under Guardiola.

 

Remember how we hammered them 5-2 at the Emptihad during the pandemic? (less than SIX YEARS ago!). Next day, they went on to spend a shedload on Ruben Dias and ended up strolling the league that season.

 

Maresca's start today was spookily similar to the one he had with us - stealing a win at the death after being outplayed for long spells.

 

Is that an omen?

Very open defensively, Isak has barely had a sniff.

 

They all said Slot was the issue last year, in reality Klopp knew exactly when to jump ship.
