Gabriel Clark. Is he our most unsung sports broadcaster?

He's been doing the same low key job (a job most of us would kill for)  on the equivalent of 30k a year since forever.

He needs more kudos!

Remember him on Football league extra in the 90s!

Neville eating his words - pregame he's saying we only have one world class player in Kane, post game he's pointing out Bellingham is a true world class player.

He looks grumpy this tournament.

Thought his analysis of Tunnel standing up for 10 minutes odd.

The coin slot in-between Neville's eyebrows is looking particularly prominent this tournament

Would actually prefer an option to watch games with just crowd noise over listening to Matterface spouting absolutely baloney all game. Thinks he's in the pub with mates. Absolute twat

You can do

IMO one of the best broadcast interviewers particularly, who seems well liked by managers and players. Always gets a good response. Never asks fluff questions or tries to generate a social media soundbite, but also seems very authoritative and amenable.

I’d be amazed if he’s ever set foot in a pub in his life. And if he’s ever had any mates.

That random claim for a Croatian penalty suggested Celtic heritage.

The pundits are all ****ing miserable at this world cup

He does a lot of production. Made some very decent documentaries

Bit mixed on the rest is football - i've watched a few episodes and it's actually pretty good, but a few bits i can't really get my head around. How they're going to make it entertaining when it's a daily show will be a challenge, plus dialing Richards in is very odd. They've also not got any rights to any of the actual football. Watched the first episode and thought it'd be dreadful but i was pleasantly surprised. Lampard and Cole were very good.

Doing unique stuff like they did with Stanway and Shearer is good. Felt like something different from the others.

The other podcasts are really struggling with the lack of ability to get people to guest for a variety of reasons

On the topic of podcasts, it feels insane the amount of £ some have invested in this tournament.

I don't listen to TRIF but know they've gone mental with their production values etc, but Totally Football Show and Football Weekly have both gone to LA for the whole tournament - must be costing them an arm and a leg. I get the time zone is way more preferable but their sponsors must be doing great to get an ROI from the expenses being racked up.

Thing is the quality of guest on both are ****ing shocking as the journalists they use are generally too busy with the day job or travelling. It's a different format but only Libero is giving me an actual feel for being in the US cos the other two just have two/three blokes sat in apartments in LA.

Agree on all fronts - I'm not sure what I was expecting going in but honestly Jimbo, Barry/Max may as well be in London and adjust their sleep pattern - just seems like a massive jolly (which is of course fine it's on the company dime etc)

Libero's independence and flexibility has shown itself well. It's such a good podcast generally, too.

Libero is the only one I've found worthwhile.

Totally has completely gone to shit, I can't listen to Duncan Alexander sound like he's just come out the dentist and Tom Williams inhaling through his teeth any more, I've binned it off.
