It's called Stockholm syndrome. It's when people defend their abusers. Happens all the time in domestic abuse situations and with kidnap victims etc.

And with the appointment of the Ted Bundy of mediocre mangers, Veg Lasso, will ensure the pain continues for the Leicester Faithfull.

By the time this pound shop pepe is done with you lot you'll be questioning if Leicester were ever in the EPL let alone winning the effing thing in 2016.

This is the essence of psychological torture. Rearrange the mind into a pile of mush.

In fairness, our owner has us questioning if we were ever a football club now as we can’t really remember what it is like to act like one. I think it might involve sometimes winning a game, or seeing the guys in your clubs kit running but we can’t be sure as it’s been a while

Never say it can't get any worse. It always can and with Veg Lasso at the helm the potential for more pain is very high!

Appreciate the insight, as with us with previous managers such as Taylor, Holloway, Cooper and RvN the scars run deep when a manager comes in and has such a poor record, however in defence of Russell Martin, so far, it has been pretty positive.

It could also be that he has reflected after the Southampton and Rangers spells and accepted that he needs to adapt a little more whilst still maintaining his overall philosophy and principles.

I wasn’t keen in the slightest when it was rumoured he would be the manager but I have to say everything I have seen, read and heard on the whole has been really positive, and I am at the stage where I am excite to see what he can do with the club. There has certainly been a massive upturn in culture and standards.

so far so good, however lots more work to do and early days but hopefully if he can keep us playing as we are where we seem to be moving the ball forward more quickly then maybe just maybe he will prove a lot of people wrong who say he would never change.

Classic Foxestalk this!

How anyone can make a judgement on Martin from preseason friendlies is mind boggling. Some of our worst seasons have had decent pre-seasons and vice versa.

Teams won't bother setting up against us to nullify us like they will in the league and most won't be bothered about the score.

If anything I think Martin has been a little naive gloating a little about the results in his post match interview as he always mentions "another win" as if he believes the win is solely coming down to his tactics and the opposition are powerless to stop us.

I still feel we need to be clever this season and choose our times to play Russell ball (there will be times) but also there'll be times when we need to change our approach and I'm pretty sure Martin won't do this.

We'll have a good indication at Christmas and I'll be the first to congratulate him if he somehow is successful.

Yes, so good so far, but any success could be hindered by the lack of players we can bring in. Whilst I've been very impressed with how the academy players have performed in pre season so far (as they did last pre season) we can't expect a starting XI made up of 8 or 9 academy players an expect them to cope through a 46 game season. IMO we 5 or 6 signings of the Conor Chaplin standard to ensure we have the right blend of youth and experience.

I think Russell has been pleasantly surprised how good the academy lads are and how quickly they've adapted to his style. In the end of the day, you only know the calibre of managers/players, once the season starts and things dont go your way. How will the young players cope going on a losing streak, how will Russell adapt? Who knows but let's enjoy winning and seeing Seagrave bear fruit.

Yet its the senior players that are struggling, and who let us down over the last 2 season. The youth are playing them off the park (and that goes for any opposition we face). I don't want L1 senior players for the sake of it - i only want ones that are improvements on what we have. And the problem with that is we are going to be digging around a strange pool of players. Its going to the the Ings of this world, because anyone younger with an upside is going to come with a transfer fee and their ceilings might only be L1.

The best thing you can do is give people positive responsibility.  imho, Alves and Braybrook are playing like experienced players, Alves especially looks above this level and has clearly matured as a player. Give these two responsibility in the camp, but with the shoulder of someone more experienced (Chaplin) to work with. Then Aluko is looking great, Vietes and Stolly are looking ok, and Page is looking solid. Then we have some players who can seriously improve with a positive camp around them (Evans, Carr, Joseph). Maybe Bobby is a player that also can be a good mentor - i dont think his attitude is in question. Hamza and Thomas could still be very good at this level.

I dont want to see 6 Ayews, Skipps, Okolis blocking all this.  Lets focus signings on where we are weak (Center Back and Striker) rather than thinking they have to be experienced. I think a lot of what we have is good enough.

Really there’s only four things we could judge him on at this stage:

- Transfers… too early to say really but we’ve moved a few on and Chaplin looks a sensible signing.

- Youth… seems to be integrating them well.

- Fitness… seems to be working them hard.

- Squad morale… again seems positive from the noises coming out.

So time is the ultimate judge for any manager but early indications point to positive.

I still feel a mix of some new experienced players who want to be here, like Chaplin, would be a good blend to have.

I’d still love to see plenty more of the swamp dwellers leave asap

okoli , Thomas , choduray , skipp , mavididi , Fatawu , Reid

we should be trying to keep souttar and it would be great if we could keep Nelson but I don’t think we will

plenty of the youth look like they could be around the squad and 4 or 5 look like they should be in for fighting for a starting place

I’d say we need at least 5 more through the door - a mixture of experience and youth to stand any chance of getting straight out of this league

But my point is, the pool that are realistic for us, what options are better than the players we have seen?  We arent going to be able to buy someone with upside without a fee, and those in the twilight of their career are going to be injury concerns, or Ayew's mk2. Experience only matters if they are the right profile of player.

We've still not seen Chaplin play, and there seems to be unanimous praise for him. What is Alves, Braybrooke and Page are playing off the park. Do we still have to play him because he is experienced?

Based on last year no one  should be rushing to sign Nelson. If im him i try and smash League One and then captain leicester in the champ rather than sit on someone elses bench.....

We've only seen them in friendlies and I agree they look very good, but I'm not sure I'd like to start the season with Thomas as my only relatively experienced defender, should Nelson, Faes and Okoli all be sold, no matter how bad a couple of them are.

Yeah you're right, if I was him I'd definitely rather stay at Leicester than go to Man United

He's 22. I think if he has the sort of aspirations i think he does, he cant be playing in L1 at the moment. Furthermore, signing a new deal with us in L1 is likely not going to give him the sort of salary he wants.

Personally, i'd love him to do what you say. But even if by a stroke of magic we end up with a double promotion, he would be playing the PL in a season when he turns 25. That could be too late for him.
