the thing is that practically every manager in the entire football league has been sacked at least once. Sometimes its just finding that club that fits your beliefs and blending the right players into it. :fc:

But he hasn't found a fanbase that fits his beliefs. He'll get lambasted very sharpish if we don't hit the ground running.

Many starting to fall for his charm and hoping he will change for us.

How dare fans be positive about their football club for once ;)

This but unironically.

**** cheer. Everything is shit. I don't want to be happy and I'll feel worse about this if you're being upbeat so don't be ****ing rude eh.

in trading terms we have bought the dip, his stock has to go up, he is young has a massive point to prove and I think he will be a success

I am part of the 5% club who backed his corner the first day he was announced when there were fireworks on here

let's see

Maybe the shock of what went down at Rangers has refocused him and made him rethink his approach, although I expect him to still be stubborn with how he wants his teams to play.

Whether we like him or not, we just have to hope that the players buy into what he is selling them, and everything clicks and we can build a lot of momentum for a promotion and beyond.

This is sort of why I've always had an aversion to Martin. People say Poundshop Pep but I think he's nearer Poundshop Rodgers. I still think it will end in tears even though there will be quite a lot of overcompensating praise for him because people were very anti appointing him in the first place. Is why for me, I will say fair play he seems to have had a positive impact, but I'm still very much braced for the downturn.

What does go in his favour is it takes the most absolute basics to improve on what has been served up in the last two years. Like it was literally close to impossible for us to have done any worse.

Fair play on the post.

I genuinely get all the negativity surrounding his appointment and apprecaite talk is cheap.

But what i do know is he is trying to change the culture.

Kudos also to new TD who is sorting out all transfers in and out

I would like to believe he will play a more attractive style of attacking-possession football, I doubt he will, but to be completely honest as much as I've been one of the ones incessantly complaining about the possession style, this season the style of play largely gets a pass from me, I'll probably talk about HOW we control the ball and whether we can do it more effectively, but from a pure philosophy, for me if it gets us promoted I just need to grit my teeth and accept it.

There are multiple things we should judge Russell Martin on:
- Style of play
- Results
- Player recruitment
- Youth involvement
- General command of the club and standards building

If he can get the results, player recruitment, youth involvement and drive standards back to the club, he gets a free pass from me this season, we are on the cliff edge and I think annoyingly I need to be right behind him and the players to drive the club out of this mess. Once we get back to the Championship, if we start to slip or are in danger of going down again, then that's when I'll be on his back.

Terms & Conditions: This temporary ceasefire with possession football is valid only while Leicester City remain in the promotion places. Breach of these terms may result in the immediate resumption of moaning, all rights reserved.

Maybe he refines it but I have my doubts, I think it's quite rare managers really change.

Think having Hourihane with him is HUGE!

Someone that hasn’t been on previous journeys with him so hopefully will have a more neutral opinion on things unlike how Gill would have ,

He’s also someone who the players will be able to relate to after being relatively fresh out of the game, we’ve already seen him joining in with the running and drills during training, with him and Kingy, there’s two model former-pros for the young lads to lean into for advice and look up to for professional standards!

Could be a master stroke!

Anyone looking for evidence of this need look no further than our own beloved Top and Rudkin.  Failure after failure and they haven't learned a thing, let alone changed.

Anybody hoping that Leicester is going to be the club where Martin finally learns to be anything other than a sideways zealot and a dullard failure specialist... well... I envy you your child-like naivety.

This is going to be like that Ted Lasso episode where the crowd ends up using willy puller as a term of endearment by the end, isn't it?

It's pre season, it's a rare skill to talk absolute bollocks and piss your fans off before the season starts (Cooper managed it). Let's not jump the gun, he needs to pass this season with flying colours. Anything less is a disgrace.

Anything less is entirely possible with what he’s working under … genuinely think it’s very difficult for any manager to be successful with this board.

My expectation is an entire season unbeaten and the points record. Anything less is a failure. Even if we finish with less point than Birmingham did but go up.

I won’t even celebrate any goals, or wins. For me, this is no different to going to work, doing a job and coming home.

You have a point to be fair.

Honestly he just has to get us out of league one and a few seasons of championship mediocrity would be enough for me to be happy with him.

im that low on us at the moment

I think he'll have us comfortably mid table in the championship if he gets us promoted. After the couple of seasons we've just had, I'd take it.

It’s a nice balance,

Martin needs this to go well just as badly as we do!

Think Sheff Wed will win the league, hopefully we are in amongst it for 2nd.

My opinion on this may change depending on whether we actually spend any money and the calibre of player we bring in.

He’s one of the worst performing managers in Britain of the past few years working under one of the worst performing boards in world football over the last 5-10 years.

I truly admire people’s optimism.

He won't change, he is a zealot who cannot coach or set up a team pragmatically.

Leicester are bound for mid-table League 1 mediocrity under this guy, he is a clown-shoe

It's called Stockholm syndrome. It's when people defend their abusers. Happens all the time in domestic abuse situations and with kidnap victims etc.

And with the appointment of the Ted Bundy of mediocre mangers, Veg Lasso, will ensure the pain continues for the Leicester Faithfull.

By the time this pound shop pepe is done with you lot you'll be questioning if Leicester were ever in the EPL let alone winning the effing thing in 2016.

This is the essence of psychological torture. Rearrange the mind into a pile of mush.

Our abusers are the owners not whatever patsy they bring in....
