I'm unsure if the club even see Hutchinson as a striker as he keeps ending up on the wing.

 

I want him to go out on loan where he can establish his position at striker. A loan also seems to be a pre requisite to get game time here, as seen with Aluko and Page.

It can really help to improve their technical skills, a lot more game involvement and facing up opposition players rather than playing off the shoulder and just into space etc.

Evans for example mostly played on the wing but he would have the odd game at striker. Hutchinson has been exclusively a winger since being promoted from the U18s.

 

Also wasn't lineker originally considered a winger, so it's not quite the same. I think we're the only team to play kane on the wing as well, considering how his time here went I don't think that was the best for him.

As much as we may want to see him as striker, he and the club may see him as a winger?

 

Been doing well enough as one and plenty of players positions adjust as they move up through groups

 

When he played for England under 18s earlier this year he was coming on as a winger

I was just pointing out that it happens.

 

To be honest I've not seen enough of him to have a view on his best position.

For all the ones we were rumoured to lose for nothing the past couple of years I am quite surprised it has only really been Motsi

Agree. A combination perhaps of how the club treats them and their families, the amazing facilities and the fact we do have a clear pathway for them if they do want to move to a bigger club, like Monga, or get them into our first team squad (which is improving but more to do).

I think we will definitely want another striker but it is clear we have other positions that are at the front of the queue for new signings

 

It may be 4 centre mids but you would need to look at it for the roles they play seeing as we seemingly play with a 6 (which all 4 of those could probably play) and then a pair of 8s you then also have to include Chaplin, Cullen, and probably Reid, maybe even Alves

I'd wait until we definitely have got another striker before deciding on Hutchinson. 

 

I think we need 3-4 options in the 6/8 role that Skipp and Braybrooke currently occupy. In the 10 role that Cullen operates currently, we have healthy numbers in him, Chaplin when fit, Alves and Bob the Throb.

 

I'd rather we use Neale than sign another 6/8.

I don't have the answers here but you might also need to factor in those that have also been nabbed this summer in the age 14-17 bracket might be as a consequence of with every year our talent pool of academy players is better and better as a result of the hard work we've been doing.

 

We obviously won the U16 title 2 years ago but it might be those a year or two below them are seen as even better (individually) and Man City and co have been hoovering them up.

I would rather we sign someone on loan and then loan out Neale (as long as Neale is going somewhere where he can start 30-40 games like Braybrooke did)

We can confirm a number of young players have agreed new terms with us, while several Academy talents have also taken the next step in their journeys by signing professional contracts.
 

Stevie Bausor, Bobby Amartey, Mirsad Ali, Logan Briggs, Josh King and Harry French have signed new deals

 

Alpha Diallo, Will Daniels, Hugo De Lisle and Fabien Simons sign their first professional contracts

 

Goalkeeper Stevie Bausor, 21, defender Mirsad Ali, 20 and striker Josh King, 19 have all signed new contracts to extend their says at the Football Club, while midfielder Logan Briggs, 21, also signed a new deal ahead of a loan to Northampton Town. All have been with our Academy since Foundation Level (Under-9s to Under-11s).

 

They join defender Bobby Amartey and goalkeeperHarry French, both 20, in continuing their progressions in our pathway, having each joined us at Youth Development Level (Under-12s to Under-14s).

 

The group have all played important roles across our Academy system in recent seasons, rising through the ranks and gaining valuable experience at youth and senior level.
 

Joining them in the professional setup are defenders Alpha Diallo, and Canadian youth international Will Daniels, both 18, Fabien Simons, 17, and midfielder Hugo De Lisle, 17, who have all signed their first professional contracts.

 

Alpha has been with us from the Under-9s to Under-11s age groups, Will and Hugo have been part of our Academy from Under-12s to Under-14s, while Fabien joined from Fulham as a Scholar last season.
 

They have all impressed throughout their time with our Academy and their new deals represent the latest stage of their footballing journeys as they look to continue their progression towards senior football.
 

These milestones also reflect years of work by staff across our Academy. Many of the players first came into the Club through our Pre-Academy before formally joining at Under-9 level and have since been supported at every stage of their development.
 

Their new deals are the latest examples of a pathway that has helped produce a number of players who have gone on to represent our First Team in recent years.
 

We’d like to congratulate our players on their new contracts and wish them every success as they continue their development with us.

Or reduce what we would want in terms of wages for skipp and Hamza and send them on loan instead.

Whilst that is a valid option, we are essentially then loaning in a player to be a back up and expecting to loan a player out to be 1st choice and if that doesn't go that way we might as well have kept them.

 

That's the art of the conveyor belt of football, I get it but we'll be doing that to a player that we hope isn't done to ours.

We need to focus more on the benefit of developing assets and increasing squad value. If it costs us a few points here or there it's a price worth paying.

 

The fact that players like bdcr still play and achieve nothing makes it more obvious a strategy.

 

We might even save some cash on appearance bonuses for pointless senior players.

Apart from Nelson the academy players have barely played in the last 2 seasons both of which have been some of the worst in the club's history. Don't think we would have been worse off if, for example, we had Alves playing instead of Cordova Reid during the last 2 seasons.

I think they think it's better for their reputation to fail with bad senior pros provided by the club than risk playing young players.
