I honestly think he'd do whatever he is told. If RM says 'we need you to play on Saturday, cus we have no other option, but then you can go' he would

I’m not sure to be honest knowing you are a few days away from moving on I wouldn’t think he would want to risk kind of injury at all

Less than week to season opener and were facing Okoli/Faes as cb partnership both whom are terrible but more importantly desperately want out.

Absolute shambles.

Throw in to the mix we have one recognised striker in the whole squad the other worthwhile bits become almost insignificant due to the problems not addressed in more important areas.

agree. but the cb issue is dictated by who leaves. if we sign someone in we lose our leverage. so it is what it is. i imagine only 2 of okoli,  faes, souttar go and we have 2 semi lined up to replace them at fraction of cost.

I’m worried about this.

Not because I particularly rate Souttar. £10m sounds like very good business for a player of his limitations.

My fear is more the fact we are so short of good CBs and our ability to recruit ones that are ball playing CBs in the first division will be severely limited.

Souttar looked very uncomfortable against a lad that scored 1 in 4 up front for Eastleigh last season. Would’ve been perfect in a Rowett team but not for RM. Get him gone asap. Shame we will likely replace him with a slight downgrade when there are some ball playing centre halves playing in league one who would be fantastic for us

Did Souttar Snr play much for Russell at Rangers? Every time I remember seeing their results they were conceding bloody loads, unsure why that would lead to him fancying him here

Jamal Lascelles Part 2👀

Gerrimback rather him than Okoli or Faes.

Great deal that. Get x2 new CB’s in that suit Russell’s system to replace him now.

If Harry Darling is available and affordable, go in for him and offer him the captaincy.

Look enough is enough, I am tired of players who don't want to be here. We need to just simply move him on and get replacements in.

This. Absolutely anyone that doesn't want to be here can do one.

You can’t turn down 10million for him. Great deal for us but please don’t sign his brother 😂 get Mfuni and Hardy on loan and sign another striker or something. When we got relegated I genuinely thought we would never see okoli and faes play for us again but here we are 🤷🏻‍♂️

As we said - 10m and bye bye - he is desperate to go as well - no chance we knock that back

so it’s now 2 or 3 cbs needed and another striker

onwards

cant help but think £10m is a good deal (although leaves us short)

Amazing deal that, fair play, bite their hands off

I’d assume we will loan one younger ball playing CB from the prem, and buy another with lower league experience

Agree, can’t deny McCarron has done a much better job in getting value for our players.

Key thing is now spending the money wisely.

We might need a 3rd new CB when Faes goes, I’m guessing at least one incoming is imminent if this is being accepted though

Worth considering wilder would have paid 20m for him if he didn’t get injured that season. So picking him up for 10 will still feel like value to him and it could yet prove to be a good deal for them

Our recent history suggests we get incoming transfers right about 20% of the time…. So to get a good starting CB pairing we only need to sign 10 centre backs :)
