He could have sold Paige for £10m plus but didn't, was that to make the sale easier.

I imagine that was because, in 12-18 months time he will be worth double or treble that. His asset value being £10m on the books is probably the only one that is correct!

So did they clear that 8m of debt to coincide with the 14 sept deadline or is there actually someone bidding who wanted this cleared ? 

 

I mean it seems a pretty small amount based on their valuation - would a buyer really ask them to do that or would they just reduce the purchase price to cover it ?  Presumably it’s monies owed to KP so nothing is changing hands. 

 

I can think of possible reasons to do it but it’s making my brain hurt to make sure the dots are all joined.

Top has been a bad chairman. He’s not cut out for running a football club and we have suffered because of his inexperience and incompetence. But this desperation to depict him as a mercenary who doesn’t care for the club is plain weird. He has a young family in Thailand and remains Executive Director of the KP group, which may explain why he spends a lot of time over there. The KP group have turned a lot of debt into equity and, as hackneyfox says, he recently turned down a bid for Louis Page that many owners would have accepted. Is it really so hard to believe that he’s well-meaning but just not a very good chairman.

 

It’s the same with Russell Martin. A lot of people don’t rate him as a manager, which is very understandable. But some aren’t satisfied with that and try to turn everything he does and says into evidence that he’s a terrible human being, too—even though those who’ve worked with him seem to speak very highly of him. 

It just seems that if people form a negative view of someone, they have to go all in and believe that individual is an awful person as well. It must be black and white—nuance is not permitted in any way.

Agree with the sentiment and thoughts on Top perhaps. Martin to me seems like an arrogant dick though.

Ahhhh so it’s just a coincidence he was able to make so many games when we won the Premier League?

I think he probably  did at the beginning, but KP's problems probably  swamped  him and the family.But what can't  be ignored is letting Rudkin and others get us in this mess and doing nothing  about it .He should have acted ,but didn't  and now going to lose even more money cus nobody is paying  what hw wants  no matter how its dressed up.

He could have reduced the price by £10m and left the debt with an extra £10m on it, neither he or the buyer would have been out of pocket, the club would owe a bigger debt to the buyer.

Turning it into equity means Top is £10m out of pocket.

Just stopping an administration I would have thought. Could be that there’s been no offers and he’s plugging the gap to stop it going out of his hands already.

The non sale of Page indicates a rare moment of the idiot listening to some sound business advice. Or the situation has almost entirely been taken out of his hands by the family / family advisors. 

 

Keeping Page as an asset bumps the value of the club up by potentially 20m-40m.

People will have different reasons for losing interest in aspects of their lives that previously mattered based on their circumstances. My own interest in attending Leicester matches for example, something that was part of my weekly routine when younger but once living away from the area and having a family, I have better things to do with my time.

 

But I’m not responsible for the football club so whilst I may appreciate that being a similar reason for Aiyawatt, it doesn’t change the fact he has clearly lost interest. That only takes a balanced view to say, not one defending his every move or making him a complete villain! Ultimately if he can’t give the club the attention it needs, he should have taken a hands off approach but left it in capable hands but he chose Rudkin! Even McCarron seems decent to be fair but the horse has bolted and the damage is done.

To sell anything be it a car or a t-shirt on Vinted, you put it in the best position possible to get the best price and a good quick sale.

 

That's literally what he's done. Sorted out a few issues and debts to make the club in as good a position as possible. Reading into it, I'd probably say that a buyer has been found but has stipulated a few points around the existing debt.
