On the WYS podcast last night they went on at length about the possibility of us signing Dom Ballard. Bristric was only mentioned in passing. They made it sound like Ballard is a very possible signing, which surprised me as I haven't seen any strong rumours linking him with us...

Guess it's good we've been proactive in getting him out if we're signing more forwards, rather than waiting for our business to be done and clubs who were interested potentially moving on and him being stuck not playing behind the new guys

Bit disappointed with this. Thought he might be a surprise package this season. Seemed a real fox in the box throughout pre-season. I suppose with the new lad coming in he isn't guaranteed game time so if he can get that out on loan it will benefit his development.

Hasn't a very reputable journalist who covers Leicester said Ballatd and Pebble from Plymouth are targets?

Me too. I was hyped for him making an impact in difficult circumstances having passed every test thrown at him so far.

 

Maybe it'll be one of those transfers where by January it's obvious that he's ready.

 

It does make you wonder if Bristic is going to be our only out-and-out CF signing, though, or if it is just him with Cullen and Chaplin able to step in when needed.

 

Anyway, I hope Otchere smashes it at Cheltenham and gives Martin or whoever is our manager in January or August next year a real headache.

I was sure we'd go into the season with Bristric as the first choice number 9 with Otchere and Opoku on the bench.

 

To be 4 days away from the 1st game of the season without a striker is pretty criminal. Especially considering we've known since at least January that we would go into the summer with Daka and Ayew leaving.

I havent seen anything in relation to Ballard, but how would we afford him? I heard Orient already rejected a bid of £4m from Bristol City?

 

We havent got that kind of money to be throwing about, Id imagine if we do bring in more than one striker, then it'll be on loan

Kind of disappointed in that it looked like he was going to be involved. Also leaves us short but as others have said, you’d imagine this means movement in. You never know with this club of course!

 

It should be good for Otchere though. Either getting minutes for us given there seems a more positive feel around the club or getting a good loan are both good options for him. He just needs minutes and experience so being well down the pecking order for us wouldn’t be great. Hopefully cements his place quickly there.

Ha—I just checked and the Daily Mail reported it last week when I was on holiday. The reporter was Simon Jones, who I hadn't heard of so not sure about his reputation.

I don't think anybody outside the club knows exactly how much money we have to spend.

With these idiots in charge presume nothing. We probably think Cullen and the Bosnian are enough, which they aren’t. For years we have failed to get a proper striker, it’s damaged us and will continue to do so.
