Spot on. Just having a centre forward who can occupy defenders is a huge net win.

 

Jury is still out on him for me but he makes loads of runs off the ball and works hard so that's already in his favour.

We need the wingers to be slinging balls into him, only seems to happen when he comes off!

Exactly - he’s now Ayew - it’s reasonable to think we have something to work with.

 

All we need to do now, is work on what sort of chances he needs to be successful and how to present those to him.

 

This might highlight why we also went wrong with Daka and Mussa, because with them we were trying to replicate Vardy’s pace… but by then we were supplying him based on his intelligence and movement ability, making both alternatives a bad fit.

Yeah bang on. Whilst in time we need more than just that, for short term results alone we evidently look the absolute pits when he comes off.

He consistently made very good off the ball runs today and was either ignored or the pass wasn't up to scratch. My optimism has genuinely improved watching him today for the season ahead. Only slight worry is he seemed to lose his rag once or twice although they were clearly trying to wind him up.

His movement is very good - I noticed it in the first game he played. He’s constantly on the move and gets on the blind side of the defence but we don’t seem

to be looking for (or able to) find the pass. Hopefully itll come.

It’ll take some time for him to build up a rapport with creators like Braybrooke

The majority of the times he peeled off the ball was with Souttar or Thomas who are not capable/confident enough to make the pass. It was too congested when Braybrooke/Page were on the ball to get the space and peel off. I know ball playing centre backs are a luxury but Bristic seems tailor-made for one.

There was a moment where there was a CLEAR

channel to him and he would’ve received the ball in prime position to shoot… and we pushed it out to the ****ing wing. Again.

Too early to say for me. There are some good signs but he needs to get up to the speed of the game in England. I'm not sure how instinctive he is either. There was a good nock down in the second half but he didn't really show any signs of reading it or trying to get to it. A good number 9 would have at least been in the right place even if he didn't score. Sometimes he looks to have a decent first touch but other times he doesn't seem to have much control of the ball at all.
