Well, given just how woeful the opposition were and the chances he had, maybe. More than anything, if he'd looked the part in his overall game, that would have been a start.

 

Like I said, to score a hat trick but still not really look the part - I'm not sure I've ever seen that, until today.

that’s pretty much like saying he’s a terrible striker regardless of the hatrick and you’ll never be happy 

 

how about instead of crucifixion

 

we choose good starting block?

Fair enough not getting carried away given the opposition but it's bloody weird that people are piling in here to say how crap he is. Clearly want to save face in the event he's a total flop

We have to remember that he's a one million pound striker. We should have about 20% of the expectation that we had for "Premier League Star" Jordan Ayew.

There’s not much more you can ask of a no9 than to get a hattrick, regardless of the opposition. He’s young and he’s new to the country, any speculative chat around him is hearsay and he deserves a fair chance based on his performances and attitude on the pitch. He did his job well tonight so well done to the lad! Here’s hoping it gives him the confidence to push on and keep delivering.

I ain’t sure what to think of him trying to rally the players over to RM for his first goal.. Sort of like a big two fingers up to the fans and they are happy for Russell (even though only two joined in) 

 

Maybe it was something or nothing, but like when Wout Faes cupped his ears, it’s not a way to please the people who are keeping the club afloat. 
 

I may be wrong 🤷‍♂️

I’ve seen a few comments saying he’s a bit cr@p, but I’m not sure anyone wants to take it that far 😮

I just saw it has he’s trying to show he’s not fallen out with Martin rather than  anything to do with the fans.

No idea why you think its 2 fingers to the fans. It was just a bit of toe curling (and clearly preplanned) 'togetherness'.

For all the stick RM has been getting recently it’s almost as if it was a we stand with you moment regardless of what others think.. 

Like I said it wasn’t clear, all I know it was bloody cringey..

Definitely cringe. Rumours were of a fall out between him and Russell, so thats what makes sense to me.
