Shipman Out Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 0 Crap design Crap Quality Anyone who has the White Kit YOU LOOK AN IDIOT IN IT! have you seen the built in thong at the back Whoever designed it is a joke! and the new strip why do the pin stripes stop why not the whole shirt!? the most naff shirts in history no other club has had terrible shirts year in year out, i like to go drinking before and after a game so i dont wear them anyway but would buy if were better made with a good design...never gonna happen!

Couldn't disagree more, I really like the white kit its one of my faveroutes
Finnegan Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 Yeah so the JJB kits and even the Le Coq Sportif kits aren't / weren't amazing - but personally I really liked the Fox Leisure ones. Don't see why you feel so strongly about having never, ever owned a kit.

Interested to know why folk buy and wear them to games. It's the most visual way to support your team. Plus it adds a bit of colour to the crowd (during the winter, the KP is a sea of black coats). I don't wear mine outside unless I'm playing fooball or going to a game.

Now it sounds like your personal experience of wearing one is that you found it highly uncomfortable. Maybe not everyone finds them uncomfortable. Surely you dont have to squeeze in one either if you buy the right size. You may not like them which is fair enough but it cant be that difficult to fathom why people wear football shirts to the football. What i would agree on is people wearing older shirts. Not so much the retro ones but say the shirts that have Topps Tiles on them (that sort of age) that look scruffy after its been washed numerous times. Now wearing those tops to the football is just embarrassing.

The best ones probably being my old admiral ones, a bukta one from 1974 and the shirt Anthony Knockaert gave my boy after a match on his birthday. Oh, and the very first one I got that Gary Mills gave me. Every one is a very special one. I don't wear them, never worn a football shirt for 20 odd years, but get a buzz in getting a shirt that has been worn by our team in battle. And still get a buzz seeing the release of a new kit.
NewquayFox Posted 27 June 2015 Posted 27 June 2015 Used to take one on holiday after a season or two and sign it and give it to a bar that displays them, went back to Albufiera the other year and my white one is still on the ceiling, love seeing City shirts in the bars abroad....
