Louise Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Could just be a paperwork/money transfer timing thing? Something out of nothing... would have all been sorted before he officially took over LCFC anyway?
Swedging Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Could just be a paperwork/money transfer timing thing? Something out of nothing... would have all been sorted before he officially took over LCFC anyway? It's a straightforward check - ownership of Pompey's holding company. A few weeks ago, it's true it was still shown as 50% Milan, 50% Gaydamak. Anyone can check tomorrow what the current position is when Companies House opens (maybe if someone has full access to Companies House Direct, they could check now). Whichever, it sounds like MM hasn't been entirely truthful here.
Mort Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Whichever, it sounds like MM hasn't been entirely truthful here. Then we certianly dont wont his sort round here, honestly with his money, footballing knowhow and proven track record... better stick with our currently very sucessful set-up (made a profit last season!)...

Leicfox Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 POMPEY SCANDAL Russian saviour hasn't bought club Manadric still owns half the shares His Leicester takeover is at risk A news of the world probe reveals the man who the FA think had brought the club earlier this year, Russian buisinessman Alexandre Gaydamark, has NOT completed the takeover. Amazingly Milan Mandaric still owns 50 PER CENT sake in the club. And the bombshell threatens his planned £25 million takeover bid of Leicester. Walkers Stadium directors had no idea Mandaric still had such a huge stake in pompey - and were stunned when we brokle the news to them. Our revelations will send shockwaves through the FA. Manadric declined the comment when we confrunted him but a close friend said: It is true Milan is still owed a significant ammount of money from Alexandre Gaydamark.... The FA are now bound the launch thier probe. A foxes insider said: This is unbeleiveable. It is very emmbarrassing that the news has been made so public so late" Ive posted that on the pompey footy mad boards hope you dont mind.. check this thread for reactions... Pompey.
Swedging Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 That is also not open until Monday. A 3rd party database I use still lists ownership of Miland Developments as: Devondale Investments (in the Virgin Islands) 50% Greg Hawker, Steven Frank and others 50% With Directors as Mandaric, Gaydamak and Peter Storrie (Co. Sec) But the shareholders information is from the annual return - 16th September. Last filing with Companies House is listed as being 11th October - but I don't know how quickly this database is updated from Companies House. Also, Portsmouth City directors don't look like they've been updated since 12 July - so Mandaric is still listed as a director there too.

A journalist on Sky said that Mandaric has an option to take these shares back if the next stage payment is not made to him by Gaydamak. If he is correct then who actually owns the shares at this moment in time, Swedging? You seem to understand company law better than most on here.

This has to be speculation but on that limited information, I would say that ownership currently lies with Gaydamak - but MM having an option that could lead to ownership would be enough to get the Leicester deal into some difficulties with the FA. Not insurmountable ones though, I would't have thought, if he manages to put in place enough guarantees about what will happen to his stake if Gaydamak defaults. Means Portsmouth could be in for some boardroom strife if that happens - with the ownership split exactly 50:50 and all those personal loans floating around.
ThurmastonFox Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Oh dear, looks like we could be in a for another bumpy xmas!!!
Craig Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 This won't be true, surely, Milan wouldn't be stupid enough to do this?

lcfc_jme Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Things are never straight forward with this club are they You're a slightlyvery intelligent lad, thought you'd have known that by now things have to be a bit worrying/speculative to keep people interested and sweating, it's part of the saga and means it'll be much sweeter once it actually happens

Swedging Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 So what made NOTW probe this? swegding you knew it was like that a few weeks ago I hope it wasnt you No, it wasn't me. A few weeks ago, it was closer to the time of the announced sale of the remaining stake to Gaydamak so I'd assumed it was going to be updated shortly and thought no more of it. I really should know better than to assume things like that but then I saw no reason to doubt that part of the story.
Chrysalis Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 will be interesting to see tommorow if he is listed as 50% owner still, now its came out if its the case I would expect the FA will block this deal.

I followed the link that was put to the Pompey Forum and someone there said that the article also mentioned a Singer and Friedlander loan taken out against the club. This loan was in the annual report - that much is true - but it also says (in the notes) that this was repaid after the reporting period. If the NOTW got that bit wrong, this does look like some sloppy and dubious journalism and may well be nothing to get worried about.
