Yep a modern classic. Manages also capture something film and TV has struggled to do and that’s British holidays. How To Have Sex is another good British film set on a package holiday away

I'll have to check that one out.

Mad also when talking about Aftersun that it was the director's debut feature and also I think the female lead's as well.

Just been to see Jurassic World Rebirth

I am a big fan of then and I enjoyed this one, however I wish there was a bit more background about the stuff going on on the island and the hybrids/mutants etc.

Probably a 7/10 and probably 4th or so out of all the films

Only thing that ruined it for me is that someone genuinely brought a kid who can only have been probably 3/4 years old into the screening who then spent most of the film either crying or running around at the front

Took the kids to watch it yesterday and they enjoyed it and I did think it was decent as well to be fair. My 9 year old lad had a few jumpy moments where I could feel him shaking trying not to make a noise 😂 defiantly not really something for a 3/4 year old though.
next up at the cinema is hopefully fantastic 4

I found Bone Tomahawk pretty rubbish, it's a good cast, but the film itself I never really got in to, not because of the gore either

Yeah, it is a film your  either going to love or hate for the most part, it meanders quite a bit interlaced with quite graphic violence, myself, I found it interesting enough to watch it through to the end based on the acting more than the story.

Hombre I just think is an absolute classic due to Newmans performance as an adopted Apache and how he is viewed by most of the other characters and how he views them, he does not take any crap either.

Arnie must be growing tired of his movie's being remade. Though to be fair most his movies that have been remade have bombed at the box office.. namely the Total Recall remake. Plus any of the terminator sequels he hasn't featured in.

I'm guessing the Running Man remake is closer to the original King book. Because it looks nothing like the Arnie film.

I have hopes for it though because it's Edgar Wright.

Speaking Edgar Wright apparently him and Simon Pegg are set to add another film to the cornetto film series. Been a good ten years i think since World's End. Have enjoyed all their movies, you do get concerned though sometimes when 4th movie get's added to a trilogy it sometimes doesn't work.

The 3rd one (TWE) was pretty average. Nowhere near as good as SOTD and HF.

I absolutely love Bone Tomahawk. I haven't seen it in a couple of years but even though there's long sections of dialogue - I found it engaging and surprisingly funny. The script is great, and I could watch Kurt Russell all day long.

That final 20-odd minutes, though. Man.

Its okay as you say... its weakest of the three but still watchable. Tbh i found the best was the first hour, when there just in the pub talking about their past etc... soon as robot things turn up... yeah the movie loses its way.

I'd be curious to know what genre franchises goes next, we've had zombie/horror, action thriller, sci fi... superhero spoof?

I just watched the Phoenician Scheme and as always I find the style, cinematography and performances so eye catching. I love Anderson films and I think it is to do so much with how he directs his performers to deliver lines, gestures and body language. I always think there is a fast paced, child-like mannerism or character to it all.

Works for me.

I thought it was alright and I've hated his last few films.

He's one of those directors where if he can pull together an engaging enough story/script then it distracts enough from the visual nonsense and self indulgent bolx.

I didn’t think much of Astro City, in fact I can’t recall it having a story of much. I have to say, I like the visual nonsense and self indulgent bolx. If films were all just cut from the same cloth and only about the story and not the way of telling it, it would all be a little dull.

Not only gripping, but the authors narration is amazing

Bought the book but not brought myself to read it yet, was when Iran and US were at it and I was going on holiday. Thought I would look a bit odd reading it on the plane/around the pool.

Yeah they announced it as an "adaptation of the original novel" and nothing to do with the 1987 flick. Supposedly it's more faithful to the book whereas the original film wasn't; King apparently disliked that movie for various reasons: https://screenrant.com/running-man-movie-stephen-king-dislikes-why/

I'm a big fan of Edgar Wright so I was a bit surprised/disappointed that he's making something that could easily perceived to be a remake; I'd much prefer he make his own original projects (though he definitely needs another writer on board).

Trailer looks good though IMO.

From what I've seen they're going to do something a bit different from the Cornetto movies. Pegg said on a podcast a while back that they have an idea that they'd like to work on but have had to wait a few years for them both to become available to write it. For the other 3 they've rented a flat/cottage for a couple of months to sit down and write.

Always LOVED the third personally, though it's certainly not on the level of SotD and HF. Not that it has to be.

Pegg and Frost have already done that!

The Cornetto films were based on the idea of putting ordinary/"boring" British locations/characters into a Hollywood style story, which I think is what they're wanting to get away from in the next one.

Whatever it is, I cannot wait.
