Yep, heard the same.

I'd go and watch it for Mark Hamill alone. Guy's my hero.

Rian Johnson makes great movies, totally unique, entertaining and likeable at the same time. "Brick" and "Looper" - top-notch.

Yeah, have Looper on BluRay but have yet to see Brick, just have to remember to check it out.

The Brothers Bloom is criminally underrated IMO. Terrific film.

Love Star Wars and really looking forward to this, and managed to avoid recent trailers and TV spots.... then Holly Willoughby dropped a massive spoiler on This Morning today whilst interviewing John Boyega.  Daytime telly is the pits.

That’s what you get for watching This Morning. I hope you’ve learnt your lesson.

Just back from watching it, I feel like Rian Johnson has stabbed my childhood through the heart and kicked sand in its face for good measure.

What a crock of shit, force awakens was meh to ok. I loved Rogue One, but this was just trash. Nice looking trash with a few good bits, but Star Wars isn't a ****ING COMEDY. Do you really need to start every single scene with a bloody joke, a crap cheesy joke at that.

I know the originals were kids fims, but they didn't feel exclusively aimed at kids. This felt like a dumb kids movie set up to sell a shotload of porges.

I know why Johnson has been given a trilogy, why wouldn't Disney want to hand the reigns to someone more interested in their PC bullshit (apparently every man in the world is a hot head idiot and every woman level headed and saves the day), oh and every pilot in the world is a black or Asian woman apparently. Oh and... save the animals ffs.

His trilogy is basicly going to be hunger games meets Star Wars.

TLJ was ok I thought, not as good as Rogue One though. Most ridiculous bit was Leia turning into superman in space. Fans moaned at TFA being a rip off of A New Hope, certainly a few risks taken in this episode. The comedy was a bit much at times though.

Wonder if the kid at the end will be the basis of Johnson's trilogy?

It’s actually awful IoI. Characters flying unaided through the cold vacuum of space and others dying because they’ve ran out of mana what the f uck. That’s without mentioning half the film means nothing because one of the plot lines goes absolutely nowhere.

Will probably get a bit of stick for this, but I honestly prefer the prequel trilogy to this one. It definitely had its problems, but it was at least an original vision and lucas tried to do something different. This trilogy just feels like all they've done is sat round and decided what will make the most money rather than really having a story to tell, don't find any of the characters interesting apart from old characters we've already seen before. All I can say is, at least I got Rogue One from this reboot because both the trilogy films have been very poor.

This one is worse than any prequel IMO, it's stunning in places and had a lot of potential but was totally ruined.

I reckon I could cut about one hour of shite from the film and make something pretty decent.

Surprised at the reaction on here, I thought TLJ was really good, a bit bloated at times, probably didn't need to include a new main character and Phasma was completely pointless, but Rey, Kylo, Finn, Poe all developed massively as characters which is necessary for episode 9.

It also didn't always follow the Star Wars staples, there wasn't a massive space or ground battle, as such it, was more of a protracted space siege, with a spectacular conclusion. Rey and Kylo we're both excellent.

The trip to the casino was a bit unnecessary, although the very last scene kinda made up for it. I just don't like it when Star Wars worlds mirror earth. That Leia scene was also weird.

I thought the lighthearted moments, including the porgs was about right, it wasn't over done and it added humanity to characters.

It was totally pointless, it was all for nothing... but at least they got a PETA save the animals message out there and another asian chick in the film . Oh and characters falling in love within the space of what, 10 hours... do me a favour.

Star wars wasn't a comedy, they have straight out attempted to get humour in pretty much every single scene. That was never star wars, any light hearted moments were so natural and subtle. This crowbars in nonsense absolutely every where, that mostly wasn't even remotely funny. A two minute opening scene about "General Hugs", give me strength.

I liked Snoke, a lot. I thought he was very well done and actually quite menacing. Wow could they have made more of him though throughout the 3 films, a complete waste.

Sadly I'm done with all Star Wars films now if this is the direction they are going.

I agree about Snokes, his power was phenomenal but under used, could have been much more, but the story was always going to be about Kylo Ren and Rey I think that Snokes was too much like the emperor and the trilogy was in danger of just becoming a homage to the original.

The opening bit I found funny, if a little forced, it was a ham fisted way to portray Poe as a reckless cocky fighter, but it had a purpose, to antagonise and distract them while they readied the escape and set up the bombing run.

There is plenty of comedy in the originals, especially with the droids, but lots of slapstick moments too. I enjoyed it, I don't think it deserves the rave reviews it's been getting, there were some serious flaws, but it certainly don't think it ruined Star Wars. Cocky quips, cute animals, slapstick, cod religious nonsense about the force, puppets are all a part of Star Wars as much as epic space battles and light sabre duels.

If the prequels didn't kill Star Wars for you then I can't believe this did.

The hate is strong in this one.

To me, all those things felt natural in the original. Almost like they weren't intentionally trying to be funny with jokes, just light hearted moments, whether it's tools falling on Chewies head, or a bit of name calling. They were few and far between as well.

So many needless attempts to make something "funny" where it wasn't needed. There's a space battle, BB8 needs to fix something... can't we just have him fix it or struggling to fix it. Without putting in a lame, ridiculously over used "plugging a leak with your finger" routine. One after another, there was just another lame forced attempt at humour that didn't need to be there.

Speaking of BB8.... AT-ST... what the flying **** was that scene all about.

I just keep remembering piles of shitness... Maz Kanata, playing what seems like Call of Duty and making nob gabs with a light sabre / gun.
