Criggers Posted 3 September 2009 Posted 3 September 2009 I have just seen some (non BBC) highlights of the Man Utd V Arsenal game. Although perhaps not as cynical as Eduardo's theatrics against Celtic, Rooney clearly started to go down before Almunia made contact with him to earn his team a doubly undeserved penalty.Tell me, was there a debate amongst the studio pundits about this (if not some righteous indignation)? Did anyone refer to Rooney's dive as 'cheating'? More crucially, did anyone suggest that the English FA should look at the TV evidence and that Rooney should be handed a ban similar to Eduardo's? The fact that no one so far on this thread has raised the matter suggests that the ENGLISH man doubly got away with it.. I said both seeing it real time and again on every replay since. It was not a penalty. He is going down before the contact and not only that, the ball flew so fast out the park Usain Bolt wouldn't have got to it. I swear the ball hit the advertising board before Rooney hit the floor. Rooney conned the ref as much as Eduardo did in my opinion. Booting the ball away from the keeper whilst already going down because he knew he wasn't gonna get the goal.
Wilkesy Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Looking forward to this tonight. Goals, goals, goals!

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Is there any particular reason why it is on really late tonight? The FL show doesnt start till about 12:15!

dandannieldanok Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 I prefer the BBC to ITV but they're scheduling of the Footy League show has been shit, far too late normally, tonight's scheduling just takes the piss.

Nationwider Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Shearer: Look, we've all been in the heat of the moment in games where we've scored very very important goals...Lineker: ... and kicked people in the head occasionally! Clinical finish from Lineker at close range.
C-man Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Apparently United's allocation was cut to 1900 for this game, isn't that against regulations?
Edmund Posted 12 September 2009 Posted 12 September 2009 Adebayor = legend. Can't believe players get booked for celebrating.
