The People's Hero Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Too right. I'm off for a flask of sense juice. The only atmosphere I've experienced at any city game I've been to this season is being ignored or moaned at when trying to start some chants/songs. It drifts from indifference to open hostility and certainly no one participates. There's a lot of talk on this board about how good we could be... well, I'll believe it when I see it, because there is ZERO evidence of it at games. People are just getting carried away I think. Bless 'em.

Manwell Pablo Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Join me in the Flaskazuri!! Would you like a Prawosanari sandwich with that?
The People's Hero Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 if patronising remarks and belittling people's enthusiasm only serves to motivate them further then yes, I second the above post. I wasn't belittling anyone, merely making some observations from my own experiences. I suppose people might take exception to me saying they are getting carried away... but this kind of thing is going to need organisation, club involvement, some dedicated core members etc. I would have to ask that if all the ingredients are pre-existing then why has this not been done before?

I suppose people might take exception to me saying they are getting carried away... but this kind of thing is going to need organisation, club involvement, some dedicated core members etc. I would have to ask that if all the ingredients are pre-existing then why has this not been done before? probably because we have reached such a low this season in terms of performance and atmosphere (obvious correlation between the two) that supporters are starting to react in the only way they can. i alluded to your concerns in an earlier post but at the same time fully support what is being considered here. going to southampton showed me that you can have a new ground with atmosphere and bearing in mind their stadium is a copy of ours all we really need is some momentum from supporters and co-operation from the club to make this idea a reality. with change in the air already ala mandaric maybe that will provide the extra motivation and incentive for this to happen.
BartonFox Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 There has to be a dress code for this Ultra group by the way No jester hats, no Bernie look-a-likes, no replica shirts with comedy names on the back or 'I 8 Cov', no Burberry or Stone Island or Lonesdale or Henri Lloyd. The following brands in blue and/or white should be acceptable: Paul Smith Pringle John Varvatos Diesel Duck & Cover Ralph Lauren Armani Lacoste Adidas Puma Ted Baker Ben Sherman Bruno Magli Dunhill DKNY Kenneth Cole

London_Fox Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 First you TPH said: "You say you want to bring people together so divisive statements like that aren't going to work?" Probobly right but then followed up with... The only atmosphere I've experienced at any city game I've been to this season is being ignored or moaned at when trying to start some chants/songs. Bless 'em. Your hitting the nail on the head...there may be many people who want to sing but they are all split around the ground if there was a group/area then they would be toghther and have a laugh like the penn's at Filbo. If we are had the same attidude as you then we would defo get know-where and I dont really think we're getting carried away, maybe excited but not carried away.
Floating Fox Posted 4 January 2007 Author Posted 4 January 2007 It's really up to you, but the idea of being next to the away fans is unlikely to be warmly received by the club/safety committee/plod etc.etc.. Not least because a second section there would jack up the policing bill. Similarly, any suggestion of banter as being integral is likely to get a poor response. I'd suggest an empty corner away from the away support - and then if that's successful, ask to move after a season. I know what you mean that is why we have suggest maybe a database and only those certain people are aloud into that part of the ground so the club could keep tabs on who is there and know that we aren't trying to get at away fans. I understand this could be a big problem though <_<
Floating Fox Posted 4 January 2007 Author Posted 4 January 2007 Just to say so far my favourite names are Spion Kopites and Fosse Ultra's
James. Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 to improve the chances of this idea getting somewhere this thread should be STICKY. please.

lookwhaticando Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 *cough* Chav *cough* !!! I'm surprised you can see the topic well enough to post anything... I'd have thought you were all  after seeing various attacks on your type.
Daggers Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 *cough* Chav *cough* !!! Absolutely. It goes without saying that George from Asda is where it's at, combined with some items from M&S. And scarves tied in that stupid modern way are out too. Until this group presents its policies on George, scarves, flasks and Tupperware boxes with cheese and onion sandwiches I shall be reserving judgement.

Sods Posted 4 January 2007 Posted 4 January 2007 Think this is a absoultely quality idea. But will the club allow this? Im definately in! For the idea about flags a great website for making flags is www.barmyflags.com It might be a bit pricy but if we managed to raise money or get money from people it would be easier. the flags are pretty fun to design to with any writing and colour abvailable.
