Leicester City Ultras?

Recommended Posts

Absolutely. It goes without saying that George from Asda is where it's at, combined with some items from M&S.

And scarves tied in that stupid modern way are out too.

Until this group presents its policies on George, scarves, flasks and Tupperware boxes with cheese and onion sandwiches I shall be reserving judgement.

these two should never be mixed, unless your talking DB07 from M&S...

Cheers for the link will have to look it it but they are a bit pricey :P <_<

Its very pricey. but the quality is good.

If we do get this group started or whatevr. Im willing to buy a flag.

you should find out which block everyones in and then work out by averages where the best volume will come from. Im in K.

This all sounds really good. People do want to sing in ALL sections of the ground. I'm in F2 and sing along whenever it gets going, but, I wouldn't want to move seats. You see I sit amongst some really nice people who I'd never met prior to becoming a STH. If the idea takes off there should be blocks of Ultra's in every section of the ground.

By the way, for what its worth, I think any title with the word MOD in sounds crap. Ultra Fosse sounds good but dosn't Fosse mean 'shit' in Swedish or is that just an urban myth.

someone could do a leaflet post on here and could hand out at a game would not take too long!

Make a leaftlet and put one on every seat in the walkers ;)

There has to be a dress code for this Ultra group by the way :protest:

No jester hats, no Bernie look-a-likes, no replica shirts with comedy names on the back or 'I 8 Cov', no Burberry or Stone Island or Lonesdale or Henri Lloyd.

The following brands in blue and/or white should be acceptable:

Paul Smith

Pringle

John Varvatos

Diesel

Duck & Cover

Ralph Lauren

Armani

Lacoste

Adidas

Puma

Ted Baker

Ben Sherman

Bruno Magli

Dunhill

DKNY

Kenneth Cole

Add G Star to that list and I'll be fine :P

Stand outside the ground before games (like the choir) performing a selection of songs for the aural delectation of the pre-match meanderers

id switch my ST to a seat/block if it was occupied of people who sang like i do at games.

let me know which block and when to sit there and if other people go for it then i just may do so.

to improve the chances of this idea getting somewhere this thread should be STICKY.

please.

Been suggested but hasn't happened so far. Maybe the people in charge don't think we're serious enough or just generally don't think the idea will catch on??

I think we should have the ultra section in n block next to away fans at least it will get atmos going

Which is what we were thinking. But Swedging I think it was made a good point about the club going cold on the idea because of Health + Safety concerns as well as increased policing bill. It's still early yet, but we'll make a few suggestions to the club and see where it gets us

Think this is a absoultely quality idea. But will the club allow this?

Im definately in! :D

For the idea about flags a great website for making flags is www.barmyflags.com

It might be a bit pricy but if we managed to raise money or get money from people it would be easier.

the flags are pretty fun to design to with any writing and colour abvailable.

We're unsure yet - which is why we're emailing the club first instead of pressing ahead with it without warning them. To be honest, if there is enough support, and everything is organised properly, I can't see the club having too much of a problem with it. As has already been said though, the idea is still in the early stages of growing, and we aren't going to make any promises about anything until we see the amount of support we get and what the club think about it.

I like the idea for the flag though. I'd put money towards it myself to help get a high quality one in should we get the go ahead

Good idea. It will be looked into just as soon as we have let the club know our plans and they agree to let us press ahead :)

Thanks mate

We will need everyone to sign something with their contact details on our website when it is fully functional (hopefully by this evening)

Do you think we would make the club really mad if we came together and devised a plan to each buy a season ticket in a particular block in the Family stand or East stand?

Its just I fear the club may turn is down with allowing us near the away fans or somewhere else other than the Kop.

EDIT: Oh by the way can a mod/admin please make this thread a sticky. Thanks.

WEll it all depends on what the club say.

If they give us their backing then things can only be good if they dont then we may encounter big problems.

i reckon the club will say stay in the kop but this will be crap and fans will have to conform to say no and get together in family, L1, west-family corner so at least some banter can be had with away fans

If the club agree to back us, then we should really be fine and all we'd have to do is negotiate the finer aspects of what we want with them or meet with them and most of the people who wish to get involved so we can discuss things properly with them and they know we're very serious about it.

If we don't get backing from the club, then I fear for the atmosphere in the stadium, as it will continue to be poor and no solution to the problem will be easy to find. I like the idea of us all buying ST's in the same block if this idea is shot down.

Again, can we have this as a sticky please or is that too much to ask?!?!

To be blunt, you are lucky to have this forum as a vehicle for such a campaign to get a foothold among fan who would normally not get to know each other.

For something to be made a sticky, it needs to be an idea (not the decision itself) which is endorsed and approved by a vast majority of mods and admin, which I would hazard a guess at not being the case.

Personally, I think it's a good idea in principle and if it gains enough support it will stay at the top of the forum anyway without the need to be made a sticky.

Good point. Also there are a few sigs, and if the website gets up and running, it makes this thread redundant.

CHeers for clearing that up

good idea in principle...although my personal concern, as I have to sit in the kop cus of my old man, would be that it further detracts some of the vocal support from the kop (like what has happened with L1) and the kop would completely die (although to be fair, it's not far away from that now so meh)

We may have to consider the fact that we'll be stuck in the Kop anyway - as has been mentioned already, the club may be reluctant to let us have block N as we would have liked. If we're told no for the section near to away fans, the Kop would be the place we were most likely to look at. Don't be too concerned just yet as there is still a lot of work to be done before a group is properly up and running anyway

On a side note, a link to the site should be posted on here tomorrow to give people a chance to leave their name and email address there so we can see the amount of support we would have before emailing the club :)

nice one jme you've certainly got my support mate

If the family stand switch went ahead the kop would surely finish. Funny if it got louder after everyone moves

Move, half the peple in the Kop aren't sitting where their ticket is, and I'm guessing it's the same for L1?? :dunno:

Stewards in L1 have clamped right down on people moving seats in recent weeks. There's even been a couple of stewards stopping people moving in from K to L1 during games. It's fair enough because sometimes, when tickets are going cheap, the 'quid club' bundle into L1 and the STHs get pushed out of their normal standing area. When you've paid your £xxx in the summer you should be able to stand where you paid for.

My dad likes a sing-song now and again but I think he's a bit too ancient and stuck in his ways for waving banners around and whatnot haha...

Yeah, I'm not knocking your idea at all, I think it's good, but I think the chances of the club giving you a spot in the family stand are basically none...surely the whole point of it is, to create an atmosphere where people will be happy to go with kids because there won't be people chanting songs with naughty words in.

Would love to see it work in the kop though, maybe even return it to something like it was at filbo, but then of course you've got the problem of the L1ers (who say what you want about them, are passionate, vocal fans, ideal for this kind of thing), who might be reluctant to return after making a stand and moving away, and have warmed to being able to abuse the away fans.
