Unnecessary by Patel as well. Why are we hitting the ball in the air when we need 7 per over?

If I'm in a charitable mood, it could be tiredness after playing yesterday. I'm feeling a bit of a Sunday evening slump...

That was one of the more comfortable wins you’ll see in the blast. Didn’t need to go hard in the chase which is exactly what you want. Time to build on this and put a big performance in Thursday against Notts.

The video of the Worcester game is no longer available on YouTube. It says “video blocked by SME on copyright grounds”. Not come across this before! It’s a shame because I couldn’t watch it live. Any ideas?

Great win, up to joint 2nd although the net run rate is a disgrace compared to the others!

Much better than it was before today. No disgrace whatsoever.

Probably because the ECB hate us and they don't like that we're winning.

On what grounds do they hate us?Around 80% of our total income comes from the ECB.If you were correct why on earth did they reward us with an England ladies game in which we got paid a tidy sum to host .They  know the match would be poorly attended and they could have got 3 times the crowd  somewhere up South. They also have gave us a Zimbabwe match again decent money for hosting which they could have given to another County.Don't forget it's the Counties that voted for the hundred and the Counties that want a fixture reduction.Going back to the ladies match remember Kate Cross on the podcast she does with Alex Hartley saying  a couple of years ago they don't like playing at Leicester and Derby because they are so poorly attended so the ECB would have the perfect excuse not to award is any games yet they still give us  regular matches.

Yes felt very busy again although a much more family friendly feel than the Friday night games with much smaller ques for a beer.

Much more families there indeed, Father’s Day had a big part to play in it. As I’ve mentioned the Friday night matches are perfect for them to go and have a few after work and stuff.

Best Mike has ever bowled I think

He has gained a yard at least. Maybe more. I've seen alot of him over the years and always been a bit negative but fair play. Looks like he has so much more spring in that take off.

There's an informative article in The Cricketer (paywall), which outlines all the options for the change of county structure. On the one that may particularly affect us with a reduction to 8 1st division teams, it offers the following:

'It would, though, involve a transition year in order to take Division One from 10 teams, as at the moment, to eight teams, as in the proposal. That would likely be facilitated either by relegating two teams without promoting any, or by relegating three and promoting just the winner of Division Two.'

That would have to happen at the end of 2026. The other two more favoured options involve some variation of three conferences or divisions.

Worth noting that, according to George Dobell, retaining fourteen games in two divisions as per existing schedule is still on the table. It’s the only one for me but I am not hopeful.

What looked on paper as a strong 2nd XI attack (Wright, Walker, Wood and Alex Green amongst them) is getting an absolute shoeing down at Horsham with Sussex 531 for 2 at lunch on day 2. Scottish youngster Charlie Tear has a triple century to his name and still at the crease.

I wonder what ball they are playing with? I know that the next four rounds of CC will be using the Kookaburra.
