Looking at the Weather it'll be amazing if we don't have our first full result of the season against Middlesex.

Hopefully take our good start down to Lords, although it's a completely different beast being on top form there.

With Ahmed not being selected for the T20 WC I'd imagine we'll have available for a few more matches at least.

Good point the only player we will lose is Scott Currie

Just noticed that the legends tournament which got cancelled last year will be played in July at Northampton. Another big money spinner that the club misses out on

Was it really a money spinner?

Nobody would turn up

Well the club lost £440k last year and according to Jarvis we would have made a profit if it wasn't cancelled..Of  course he's talking BS but they would have been paid a few grand for hosting the event

Josh Baker of Worcestershire has passed away, only 20

Looked like he was playing for the seconds yesterday so goodness knows what has happened. Awful for their club and his family

Andrew Miller at Cricinfo has published an interview with Sean Jarvis today, which is an interesting read. Jarvis for example, would like to see an open, two-tier Hundred competition with promotion and relegation. Unfortunately no chance of that!

I don’t understand the point of promoting The Hundred format. It’s not different enough from T20 that people are going to pick it up across the world. It’s just doubling down on the mistakes the ECB made out of blind arrogance now.

Jarvis is a director of Trent Rockets and attends every home match so he's very much a fan of the 100 despite him saying otherwise .

Isn't that less down to choice and more down to the fact that the Trent Rockets are meant to 'represent' Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and the Foxes?

While I'm on a rant about Jarvis also hugely dissapointing that we have missed out on a Woman's  international  this year while Derby and Northants get games. Well aware they  are poorly attended but the club makes a few thousand from the ECB from hosting these matches. We haven't even got an England under 19s match. Considering  Jarvis likes to take the credit when we get to host these fixtures he must be to blame when we miss out on these matches.

Yes but  the Leicester part is in name only does anyone really think its anything to do with the Foxes

Derbyshire CCC's Chief Executive Ryan Duckett, is likewise on the Trent Rockets Board.... I imagine it likewise offers almost nothing of tangible benefit to their county team, certainly on the men's side.

Don't shoot the messenger, I hate the bloody thing too!

Such sad news seems to be happening more and more sadly  one of my neighbours son also passed away suddenly last week who was 24

It seems like it was a sudden medical episode.
