lookwhaticando Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 Have you seen that episode of The Simpsons where they come to England and use a roundabout for the first time and just go round and round it not knowing what to do? It's worse than that. Here... the traffic on the roundabout gives way to traffic coming onto the roundabout. How crazy is that?!

Daggers Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 What the f**k? How does that work? You sound like my wife again
lookwhaticando Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 What the f**k? How does that work? The 'Traffic Circle' is totally ridiculous. It's hard to explain... but there's a couple of Give Way signs actually in the 'circle'. When a car is going around, if another car is about to enter from the primary road (it's usually dominated by one road) the car on the roundabout must give way to the entering vehicle. When it gets busy, this becomes a bit of a nightmare... if two cars attempt to cross the primary road, they block the traffic behind them. So one direction of traffic can come to a complete halt while the other side streams right through. Thankfully, the side roads are so much quieter and the primary road never particularly busy that it's rare enough not to cause a big problem. There's a good reason there's not many roundabouts here... because they're pathetic at their job. I think Ottawa has a grand total of two roundabouts... maybe a couple more on smallish housing estates in the suburbs. The alternative to roundabouts is even worse than a lunatic roundabout... all-way stops!

lookwhaticando Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 Can we stay on-topic please? Fork off. This was never on-topic anyway. I might punish it to the full extent with a move to General Chat.
Daggers Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 Mods?! Tch! They've really gone downhill since my era...and don't they all look so young these days?

Kent Fox Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 I have just heard some new news.. Apparently we are about to sign.. Izale McLeod. Anyone know anything about this rumour? Is it a new rumour??
Geo V Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 I have a horrible feeling that this thread will surpass the Chebbies thread on pages before the start of the season. That will worry me greatly. Shut the bugger down FFS!!
Messi Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 i think he will be a great signing there will be a good relationship with the manager- he is fast, powerful and a natural born goalscorer and i think if u use this formation we will be scoring goals for fun. hume campbell mcleod

There were times when Hume might have been an improvement "in the hole" considering our rank bad centeal midfielders. But not now and for two reasons. We've now several excellent specialist midfielders and Hume looks to be in tip top form as a striker. No, MA is going to have to make awkward decisions based on performance. and, right now, I'd say Hume would be first on the list for selection.
The People's Hero Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 Time to bring TPH back as an all-powerful, answering-to-no-one, renegade admin legend.
Mr Happy Posted 1 August 2007 Posted 1 August 2007 Hi all I've been fighting the deceptacons for the posession of Cybertron (which explains my leave of absense from FT) and only just checked out this topic and was basically wondering two things: 1) Who is this DJ Campbell we're suppost to be signing, is he any good 2) And how much money is our new manager Mike Bassett being given to spend in this transfer market??
DB11 Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 hume campbell mcleod That'll be no good at all, we'll be conceding a lot of goals with only 3 players on the pitch

MPH Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 to me i think: IF we sell fryatt, we will sign mcleod...
RedOnRed Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 Apparently McLeod missed a couple of sitters last night and didn't play that well. In fairness, it was his first match for a while after injury and was only a friendly. He should sharpen up a bit.
Brainy Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 We were suppose to sign 2 this week for definate. One member said Danny Murphy was signing on Wednesday, another said McLeod will be signings. Of course these haven't signed yet but I can kinda believe that. Won't get my hopes up yet though.
RedOnRed Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 If McLeod is offically signing for you this week i'm surprised that we played him last night and risked injuring him. Clubs don't normally do that sort of thing.
Jon the Hat Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 If McLeod is offically signing for you this week i'm surprised that we played him last night and risked injuring him. Clubs don't normally do that sort of thing. True, but your chairman is clearly a fool...
Ric Flair Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 If McLeod is offically signing for you this week i'm surprised that we played him last night and risked injuring him. Clubs don't normally do that sort of thing. How did he get on last night? 6 red cards?
RedOnRed Posted 2 August 2007 Posted 2 August 2007 How did he get on last night? 6 red cards? Not too sure, but I think he came away unscathed disciplinary wise. He's a bit of a loose cannon on the temperament front. He's easily likely to get 6 reds over a season.
