Ric Flair Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Done a good job at all his clubs except at Saints.... MUCH MUCH better than the trash that has been mentioned. People will see him as uninspiring but he has an excellent record. Tend to agree with you there. I'm impressed by his record. My only gripe is, he hardly has a good record at this level or beyond and that was what I thought Mandaric was going to scrutinise when he looked for our next manager.
The People's Hero Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 I want a foreign chap we've never heard of.
teblin Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 If i remeber rightly wasn't he treated badly by the saints? And sheff wed?
Ric Flair Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 If i remeber rightly wasn't he treated badly by the saints? And sheff wed? He shouldn't really have been sacked from either, but he was hardly pulling up any tree's at the time of the sackings. He'd only just signed a new 4 year deal at Sheff Weds as well. Rupert Lowe treated him like shit as well, but that shouldn't come as a surprise.
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Sturrock approachSeems like a good choice. Has a lot of promotions to his name, but is a bit of a bore. Forking ell.
MPH Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Sturrock approachSeems like a good choice. Has a lot of promotions to his name, but is a bit of a bore. hmm. strange one this. not really a name i would of ever thought of... MM was saying he was wanting someone with top flight experience.. the story says other than a brief spell with southampton he hasnt really had any..... Maybe MM sees him as a director of football....

He changed ever since he got his surname changed from 'Bear' to 'Lowe'.
Master Fox Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 If i remeber rightly wasn't he treated badly by the saints? And sheff wed? Yeah, Apparently he wasn’t up for a bit rough BDSM that the chariman required of him
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 My mate who moved to New Zealands back in a week as well, week today, no doubt just in time for this to go through, so no doubt he'll be in a foul mood with me on return as he's a massive Swindon fan.
City Fan Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 His promotion record speaks for itself, not a name I would have thought of to be honest. However, I can't help remembering his time at Soton in the Premiership.
The Don Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Why do we have 3 threads on this same subject. Its surely still a rumour????
Lillehamring Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 doesn't really fit the 'top flight' bill... can't say i've ever heard much of him - i'm sure MM will want someone slightly more media friendly...
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 This even worse than Martin Allen. Then I was worried about him signing Lewington and McLeod, now where going to end up with Blair pissing Sturrock
Strokes Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 OMG what the fu ck do we want a clown like this for.
Master Fox Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 OMG what the fu ck do we want a clown like this for. I like his soft musky Scottish accent, I find it soothing.
Ric Flair Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 I'd be surprised if this is true anyway, I wouldn't get too worked up wither way just yet.
Mark Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Would be disasterous IMO, he has never been successful at a higher level despite having chances at this level, and soon after he was sacked at Sheffield Wednesday they surged up the table. He's a right dullard also.
Cheese Me Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 Done a good job at all his clubs except at Saints.... MUCH MUCH better than the trash that has been mentioned. People will see him as uninspiring but he has an excellent record. Agreed, I'd be fairly happy with this compared to some of the names we've been mentioned in conjunction with.

Exactly right, we'd be hireing a proven failure at this level.

Mark Posted 5 September 2007 Posted 5 September 2007 This guy is a better bet than Reid, roeder, etc.... True but I won't be happy in the slightest if we're settling for him.

Right could all managers who consider themselves better than the dregs of the managerial barrel that are Gleb Roeder and Peter Reid please form a orderly que for an interview Is that what the critera is for our managers now, "So Paul are you better than Peter Reid" "Yes" "Your Hired" ......FS!
