Manwell Pablo Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Warnock was Mandaric's first choice, he stupidly listened to the fans and it backfired with Allen. I don't think he'll make that mistake again, he'll go with his gut instinct. Warnock is still available and as long as Neil doesn't have his pride at stake because we didn't go for him the first time, he'll be here. The only other serious contender is Dowie IMO. He'd cost us an arm and a leg I think. So it's likely to be Colin. The fans won't be happy, but we know fook all as a collective group. We've been wrong so many times before. I've never said he's a terrible manager, I just hate him.

I'd agree that Milan wanted Warnock first time around but bowed to the fans protests, I'd also agree he's unlikely to listen to the fans so much this time, if you want any evidence for this just look at what he did to MA even though a majority of fans (wrongly imo) backed the manager.
The People's Hero Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 If Warnock is appointed, that's me and LCFC done till he's shown the door.

Let just back who ever it is. It will be entertaining to the say the least is warnock does take over.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Let just back who ever it is.It will be entertaining to the say the least is warnock does take over. Well we'll have to wont we. I'm certainly never singing his name though.
Finn Claw Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Hate is a strong word. What he said about us was stupid. Out of the names being mentioned he is one of the better candidates. He is pretty entertaining, can't see him being MM yes man though. Chris Kamara as his number 2? - now we're talking
Master Fox Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 I tell you what though, Dennis Wise is doing a cracking job up there in Leeds!!
Daggers Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 I tell you what though,Dennis Wise is doing a cracking job up there in Leeds!! Yes.
Master Fox Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Yes. He could be on the short list.......!! :
Ric Flair Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 I've never said he's a terrible manager, I just hate him. I never said you did!
Daggers Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 He could be on the short list.......!! Fingers crossesd
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 I never said you did! I know but you and others keep replying to my "not over my dead body" posts with "He could do a job". I'm not disputing that he might be able to do a job here, although he has a very suspect record in the transfer market. It's not about his abilty it about the ethics of employing a man who 5 years ago was saying we should be kicked out of the football league.
Kent Fox Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Oooohhhhh someone got out of bed the wrong side!!Mind you for an old man you talk some sense! Less of the 'old man' matey 45 is not old, it's just 'getting on a bit'. If Warnock is appointed, that's me and LCFC done till he's shown the door. See what I mean?? No it won't be the end. You will still be here supporting the club you love. Admittedly, that love maybe somewhat diminished, but it will re-kindle when we are top 6 by Xmas. *starts to pray for results* And where else are you going to start such nonsensical threads that no-one will understand except us,eh? Look out RedonRed, TPH is coming....
stevec Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 He could be on the short list.......!! : Mr Wise has always been on the short list
Smudge Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 If Warnock is appointed, that's me and LCFC done till he's shown the door. Stop Press "Thracian is rumoured to be mounting a massive media campain to bring Warnock in for an indefinite period."
Nick Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Warnock is a character. He would do a job. Football is a fickle game. Had he been our manager at the time saying the things he did about a different club, we'de have all laughed out loud at his sweeping accusary statements. Because they were directed at us we took it personally, as one would expect. That said I will not be disappointed to not get Paul Jewel. Yes he gets results but have you seen his football? Can anyone imagine the first argument between Milan and Warnock? Can anybody think what the media soundbytes would be like? ****ing hilarious methinks........ However, I have just seen Martin Jol in Morrissons. He was buying a drink but no food so I spoke with my mate who has a catering company and he has had an order for LCFC for some sandwiches. The sandwiches ordered were cheese and pickle and ham salad. I phoned my mate who is a Spurs fan and he confirmed my link immediately stating that Jol has been seen eating cheese sandwiches before. SSN has just reported the following story: A London hospital reports that the successful removal of a black ornamental bhudda from the anus of an unamed man in his forties has taken place. Chief Surgeon Dr S. Hitthatout commented that the man now has a new lease of life to pursue his career in gardening. Police spokespersons confirm that they have investigated the matter though progress has been slow due to a confidentiality clause between the involved parties. N.

It's not about his abilty it about the ethics of employing a man who 5 years ago was saying we should be kicked out of the football league. My only reasons why I would be willing to give Warnock the time of day, is because I think he's destined to come here and do a good job. Our fans would be disgusted by him coming here, there would be fake protests, Matt would be rallying the non-existant troops. The Mercury would be awash with disgruntled Oadby and Fleckney residents writing in about the loud mouth cretin. Then Warnock would slowly start to turn things around and the fans would have to put their tail between their legs and the abuse would mellow. He'd then become a cult figure like Speedie did. Our fans get it wrong on so many occasions. We're right to hate Neil Warnock, but it would be just our luck for him to come here and do the business.
davieG Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 If Warnock actually had the prinicipals he espouses over the likes of us and West Ham he wouldn't take the job. But like many managers and people in general he'd likely break any rule he could to get this job.
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 MM has gone abroad----------and not for a holiday!!! Denied making approach for Sturrock in todays statement from abroad--------BUT-------no denial on Dowie!!!!!!! MMMMMM!!!!!!
Bluefoxtim Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Sturrock not in my thoughts - Milan Reports have suggested Mandaric has targeted Sturrock as the man to replace Martin Allen at the Walkers Stadium. Swindon moved quickly to rubbish the suggestions and Mandaric has now dismissed them as "pure speculation". "I haven't made an approach to Swindon for Paul Sturrock and I don't expect to," Mandaric told the Gazette. "There is a lot of speculation around at the moment and this is just what this is - pure speculation. "Paul Sturrock is not even a manager I had really thought about. I don't know why people are saying we have made an approach. "When jobs like this are available you do get agents and people like that trying to promote their people. You really have to ignore all the speculation." http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...2711714,00.html
Master Fox Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Sturrock not in my thoughts - Milan." http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...2711714,00.html Sturrock will always be in my thoughts though .
Milky Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Sturrock not in my thoughts - Milan Rockin the casbah, Rock the casbah!
Ric Flair Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Sturrock will always be in my thoughts though . And mine, he's an total gentleman.
Master Fox Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 And mine, he's an total gentleman. He certainly is..
jonw88 Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 He certainly is.. And also rather fat! Forget fitness training, it'll be pork pies all round (well only if Rab and De Vries don't eat them all first).. Don't see how we could let Neil Warnock manage us after what he tried to do to us several years ago, and being a lifelong blades fan he wouldn't manage us to his full potential. We do need someone experienced but more importantly someone willing to give 110% for the club and really get us fighting for promotion than playing lacklustre sloopy hoofball like seasons past and rot in the lower chambers of the championship. I really cannot think of any worthy candidates though!! Roeder, Reid, Warnock, Sturrock can all f**k off. Don't know much about Brendan Rodgers from Chelski and don't know how he'd manage running a full first team, but coming from Chelsea should mean that he's good. And what about Keegan? Shock return to management?
