davieG Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 I would argue that Mandaric has a passion and understanding for the game while Abramovich hasn't got a fooking clue.Do you think Abramovich's passion is any less, he's at virtually every game, I don't see how you can judge other than one i more vocal and likes to be heard more.Abramovich doesn't know anything about transfers, at least we've seen MM look at the signings for City i.e. JFH.I think chelsea will struggle for top 4 this year now!I presume that was tongue in cheek, I don't see much success in MM's pperceived transfers!
davieG Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 If ever a club is at the mercy of one man,it's Chelsea.IF Abramovich decided he's had enough of hiding in the UK using football as his alleged business, and decides to pull out and enjoy his 'well earned and all legally aquired' billions...Chelsea would be well and truely Fcuked!!!! With players on over 100,000 a WEEK...who would want to come in and help finance that??? This could(hopefully!) be the begining of a downward spiral!! You could say much of that about MM and LCFC they only difference is the scale of the debt but we'd still be fcuked!
JoeyB Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 He left not ever losing a home league game at Stamford bridge! In 3 years thats not a bad record is it!
Ric Flair Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 The most disgusting news i've heard in football for a long, long time. Ok, so Mourinho is a bit of a prat, who's probably very frustrating to work with, but when he's achieved what he's achieved it's a ludicrous decision. Especially given who they are replacing him with. Avram Grant? He must be more un-inspiring for Chelsea than Megson is for us. The Premiership loses yet more appeal for me. I'll give Grant a until January before he's replaced.
James. Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Do you think Abramovich's passion is any less, he's at virtually every game, I don't see how you can judge other than one i more vocal and likes to be heard more.I presume that was tongue in cheek, I don't see much success in MM's pperceived transfers! I think this comparison is a little silly anyway. Mandaric has been invoved in the game for years and has a proven record with Pompey in owning a club and getting success. Abramovich comes across as a little boy having some fun with his latest toy. I pity that football club and I wonder what will happen when he gets bored and throws this particular toy away. He's an idiot, end of story.
Raj Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 You could say much of that about MM and LCFC they only difference is the scale of the debt but we'd still be fcuked! Thats true. But im sure Rosemary Conley,Kasabian,EngleBert Humperdick,The Bloke who owns all the houses,Bernie or some other millionaire would be able to fill MM's boots??? Failing that we could move the Kop with the family Stand and all our problems would be solved!!!
Daggers Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Abramovich doesn't know anything about transfers, at least we've seen MM look at the signings for City i.e. JFH. Jimmy and Neilsen are the only words I wish to use to respond to this...
Ric Flair Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Jimmy and Neilsen are the only words I wish to use to respond to this... Don MacKay i'd say.
Blue Bob Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 I think this is a sad day for british football, no doubt he will now be snapped up by one of the european big guns. He called himself the special one - this could have been a source of a massive p*ss take but he actually was. I thought he was an excellent manager, his team played for him and played well. I think Chelsea will come to regret this.
MC Prussian Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 If ever a club is at the mercy of one man,it's Chelsea.IF Abramovich decided he's had enough of hiding in the UK using football as his alleged business, and decides to pull out and enjoy his 'well earned and all legally aquired' billions...Chelsea would be well and truely Fcuked!!!! Looking for another field of diversion... America's Cup perhaps?

If i remember correctly tho' Roman has said that he loves Chelsea and wants them to do well even when he has gone, so he has put a load of money in a high interest account for them or something! This was about 12-18 months ago tho! so could be wrong!

Yeah he put all his Billions into Northern Rock!!!

Roman may love Chelsea but he wants instant and ultimate success, and with the differences brewing between him and the special one this has come to no surprise!!!
inmemoryofdoreen Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Who? Never heard of this bloke;http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/7004083.stm he is a former coach of israel, he was brought in as director of football in the summer and mourinho threw his toys out the pram about it, i presume because he`d never heard of him either.
Koke Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 He texted 5 players yesterday and wished them good luck on the rest of their careers. My guess is Lampard, Terry, Drogba and the two Portuguese. Its madness.

If you seriously think Mandaric has a better record in the game than Abramovich then you are in desperate need of a brain transplant.
James. Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 If you seriously think Mandaric has a better record in the game than Abramovich then you are in desperate need of a brain transplant. Where did I say that he did?
The People's Hero Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Where did I say that he did? You didn't mate, Ultra is looking for someone to argue with. Unfortunately for him, he's picked on you... and you're probably a hundred times more capable of sustaining a decent line of argument than he is. I don't know why he doesn't pick on Thracian or Matt. That's about his level. Complete fabrication and rubbish.
Wycombe Fox Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Pat Nevin on Avram Grant; "Avram Grant is going to be as welcome as Camilla at Diana's memorial. "This guy is not well-loved at Chelsea. He is not going to last."

Alright, he "saved" Portsmouth from financial problems, or even bankruptcy. But one promotion (from the championship) and half a dozen relegation battles in 10 years of ownership is hardly success.

James. Posted 20 September 2007 Posted 20 September 2007 Hmm, kind of is really. Where they were before. Where they are now. Success. I was about to write something very similar. Anyway I'm still waiting for Ultra to answer my question. Come on chap, don't tease me like this...

Come on chap, don't tease me like this... In my experience, you'll be waiting a long time. Same thing happens in every thread where Thracian or Ultra get asked a direct question. They either point blank ignore it or simply twist it to a completely different issue.
