PAFC 2 Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 I loved Plymouth fans reaction when we were linked with Peter Gilbert. It seems they are reacting in the same manner with Holloway, wonder whether history will repeat itself. And he was a big success wasn't he!!!!
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 And he was a big success wasn't he!!!! Exactly, I hope Holloway does stay with you. I'm not overly keen, he flatters to deceive. He is however doing a decent job with you and should stay. Under higher expectations and a ruthless chairman, he'll be gone within 3 months.

Although our chairmans crap as well but for a different reason. NO MONEY!!! but he has done a fantastic job considering then resources
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Although our chairmans crap as well but for a different reason. NO MONEY!!! but he has done a fantastic job considering then resources He has, I hope he stays and see's how far he can take you. I'm not convinced he's learned enough yet to come to a club, which although has been crap for several seasons, still is seen as a big club and has idea's above it's station. Our fans, the media to a certain extent and our chairman, honestly believe we should be challenging for promotion each season, and I suppose we technically should. But we don't have good enough players, our chairman won't accept that though and neither will the majority of our fans. Holloway doesn't convince me he has the tools to take this club to the next level.

Trust me he will stay with Plymouth

Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 He would with Leicester because you've got money but unfortunaltely he will never go to you. Trust me he will stay with Plymouth Good.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Trust me he will stay with Plymouth You have no idea whether he will or won't, the same as anyone on here. If you've got it wrong you'll look daft, and if you've got it right, it was just luck
City Fan Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Good. FFS talk about deluded - seriously tell me a manager who would be better than Holloway, and who would REALISTICALLY come here. No, didn't think so.
Koke Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 I quite like Argyle fans, **** knows why this kid is acting like a ****. And for those who don't want Ollie here, seriously you 'aving a laarf.
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 FFS talk about deluded - seriously tell me a manager who would be better than Holloway, and who would REALISTICALLY come here. No, didn't think so. The Taunton Town boss. That's if he could bear to live the Taunters for their sworn arch rivals.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Reading the subtitle of this thread; Franck as assistant?!
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 The Taunton Town boss. That's if he could bear to live the Taunters for their sworn arch rivals. Just did some research and they're actually called The Peacocks. Foxes hate peacocks. Incidentally, Gavin Peacock is their player manager.
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 If you ignore the fact that we've got a bigger fanbase, bigger ground, and have actually won something other than League One in our history, I suppose Plymouth are a bigger club than us. EDIT: Oh and more money.
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 FFS talk about deluded - seriously tell me a manager who would be better than Holloway, and who would REALISTICALLY come here. No, didn't think so. Graham Souness Mike Newell at a push (proven to be as good as Holloway in a shorter time) Dave Penney (my opinion) Holloway is a average-decent manager, but he's a chap I fear wouldn't last that long here and what's the point in that? We need a strong character who can completely change this club, Souness is the realistic choice. Horrible man, but has worked at bigger clubs than us and knows what it takes. Also, has experience in promotion. Appears to be interested in the job as well. Some are put off with his persona, but he get's results. Got the sack at Newcastle, but proved his credentials at Blackburn.

Mandaric has been quoted at least once saying that all the good managers were already in jobs. I can't see it being Souness to be honest even if the Holloway thing goes tits up.
Wherethefoxhat? Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 FFS talk about deluded - seriously tell me a manager who would be better than Holloway, and who would REALISTICALLY come here. No, didn't think so. ER? Paul Ince ?
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Mandaric must be regretting buying us. We're a shambles. Sorry Milan.

Mandaric has been quoted at least once saying that all the good managers were already in jobs.I can't see it being Souness to be honest even if the Holloway thing goes tits up. It does seem strange that Mandaric wouldn't go for Souness if he's interested. Got the experience and the stature in the game to kick some arses here and get results. It's looking grim. Mandaric must be regretting buying us. We're a shambles. Sorry Milan. Agreed, but he's to blame for some of this.
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Anyone coming with me to support the Peacocks?
Finnegan Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Mandaric must be regretting buying us. We're a shambles. Sorry Milan. I'll pass on your apologies next time I go round for tea.
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Anyone coming with me to support the Peacocks? Do they run out to Peacock Suit by Weller? If so, i'm there pal.
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Do they run out to Peacock Suit by Weller? If so, i'm there pal. It can be arranged, we make up a good 66.6% of their fan base mate. Gavin Peacock is the other one. Oh and that Kevin Peacock guy who runs Charlton. Sh it. 50% then.
