Mike Newell at a push (proven to be as good as Holloway in a shorter time)

Holloway is a average-decent manager, but he's a chap I fear wouldn't last that long here and what's the point in that? We need a strong character who can completely change this club, Souness is the realistic choice. Horrible man, but has worked at bigger clubs than us and knows what it takes. Also, has experience in promotion. Appears to be interested in the job as well.

Some are put off with his persona, but he get's results. Got the sack at Newcastle, but proved his credentials at Blackburn.

Right, where do I start:

Souness - Yes he would be better than Holloway, but I personally don't think he would be interested in this job. Yes I know he had an interview, but I bet he has to go to interviews and look like he is trying to get a job for Newcastle to keep giving him compo. In this Skysports article (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11708_2882337,00.html), he states that he is busy doing other things and wont be making a comeback unless something really excites him - can't see this job exciting him.

Mike Newell - Agreed he would be interested, but better than Holloway? No chance. He had a shocker at Hartlepool, but did well at Luton - Holloway has arguably done well at all 3 clubs he has been at.

Dave Penney - He would be interested as well probably, but is really a lower league manager. Ollie has experience in this division.

Penney in my opinion is a better candidate than Holloway as is Grayson, just without the experience.

Holloway is a decent manager, granted and i'll not be unhappy should he come. But he's nothing special and that's why I really don't care if we miss out on him. He's ten a penny in the managerial merry go round.

It does seem strange that Mandaric wouldn't go for Souness if he's interested.

Isn't Souness still interested in buying a club rather than managing one? Tried to get Wolves last year and recent reports of him being interested in Southampton as well.

The thing about Plymouth is that they gave it a placename and a run of the mill football team and stuff, but seemingly forgot to put a town there.

I think that Plymouth fan is pretty much spot on with his comments there. Its a shame that our fans can't be as honest and realistic.
