Trumpet Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Plymouth fan: "You couldn't blame Ollie, and yet you could. Ok, he might do a Sturrock on us for the sake of his family (if not necessarily his career) and you can't blame him for that. Also, irrespective of league positions, Leicester are a bigger club than us, it's a fact. He has a better chance of ending up in the Prem with them than with us. It's a bit like what Buszaky did, a longer-term bet. However, for someone who wears his heart on his sleeve and comes across as a man of great integrity, and has often criticised loopy hire-em-and-fire-em chairmen and the madness of the managerial merrygoround, to go to Leicester would be selling out on his principles... which should be a lot more important to him than we are. "
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 It can be arranged, we make up a good 66.6% of their fan base mate.Gavin Peacock is the other one. Oh and that Kevin Peacock guy who runs Charlton. Sh it. 50% then. Lee Peacock get's down there when he can as well.
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Lee Peacock get's down there when he can as well. Sounds like one big party. I bet they score goals now and then as well. Better than crummy old Leicester City.
City Fan Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Graham SounessMike Newell at a push (proven to be as good as Holloway in a shorter time) Dave Penney (my opinion) Holloway is a average-decent manager, but he's a chap I fear wouldn't last that long here and what's the point in that? We need a strong character who can completely change this club, Souness is the realistic choice. Horrible man, but has worked at bigger clubs than us and knows what it takes. Also, has experience in promotion. Appears to be interested in the job as well. Some are put off with his persona, but he get's results. Got the sack at Newcastle, but proved his credentials at Blackburn. Right, where do I start: Souness - Yes he would be better than Holloway, but I personally don't think he would be interested in this job. Yes I know he had an interview, but I bet he has to go to interviews and look like he is trying to get a job for Newcastle to keep giving him compo. In this Skysports article (http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11708_2882337,00.html), he states that he is busy doing other things and wont be making a comeback unless something really excites him - can't see this job exciting him. Mike Newell - Agreed he would be interested, but better than Holloway? No chance. He had a shocker at Hartlepool, but did well at Luton - Holloway has arguably done well at all 3 clubs he has been at. Dave Penney - He would be interested as well probably, but is really a lower league manager. Ollie has experience in this division.
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Sounds like one big party.I bet they score goals now and then as well. Better than crummy old Leicester City. Turns out they probably don't score many - it says DEFENDAMUS on their badge. Have a word Thracian.
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Right, where do I start:Souness - Yes he would be better than Holloway, but I personally don't think he would be interested in this job. Penney in my opinion is a better candidate than Holloway as is Grayson, just without the experience. Holloway is a decent manager, granted and i'll not be unhappy should he come. But he's nothing special and that's why I really don't care if we miss out on him. He's ten a penny in the managerial merry go round.
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Can we stop talking about this and get on with discussing all things Taunton Town, please?
Mickey O'Neil Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 It does seem strange that Mandaric wouldn't go for Souness if he's interested. Isn't Souness still interested in buying a club rather than managing one? Tried to get Wolves last year and recent reports of him being interested in Southampton as well.
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Can we stop talking about this and get on with discussing all things Taunton Town, please? I thought it was Taunton Peacocks?
Nationwider Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Can we stop talking about this and get on with discussing all things Taunton Town, please? I will make them my third team. Does this make me a Tauntontowntonian?
Fat Ron Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Can we stop talking about this and get on with discussing all things Taunton Town, please? Lets all chip £35 quid in and buy them!!!! Thats a Brilliant idea... We can have a vote to decide the Team and Tactics... I think that would be awsome.....

The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 i do know that Holloway won't be going to Leicester and so does everyone who listens to how passionately he talkes about the Westo****ry.I HATE LEICESTER FANS The thing about Plymouth is that they gave it a placename and a run of the mill football team and stuff, but seemingly forgot to put a town there. I will make them my third team.Does this make me a Tauntontowntonian? Yes. Yes it does.
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 In terms of Devon based teams, I'm an Ilfracombe Town man.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 In terms of Devon based teams, I'm an Ilfracombe Town man. Have Barnstaple got a team? If so, I bet it's BRILLIANT
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Isn't Souness still interested in buying a club rather than managing one? Tried to get Wolves last year and recent reports of him being interested in Southampton as well. He's up for anything Souness, I flogged him some white dog shit on ebay a few months ago.
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Have Barnstaple got a team? If so, I bet it's BRILLIANT Yes - they are in Ilfracombe's division though. Barnstaple are dirty. They live on a staple diet of barns. That's how filthy they are.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Kokopops just texted me that SSN are reporting Holloway wants to come to us. EHWTFETC?
