The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Fed up of cornish pasties and chewing straw, presumably. We should wait till he resigns and then not appoint him. Always hilarious when we do that. Or appoint him and when he turns out to be shit, flog him to Bolton for a fortune.
Raj Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 I think that Plymouth fan is pretty much spot on with his comments there. Its a shame that our fans can't be as honest and realistic. Most of us are. We ARE by far the Greatest team the World has ever seen!!!
PAFC 2 Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Kokopops just texted me that SSN are reporting Holloway wants to come to us. EHWTFETC? I just saw that on SSN but the bloke just predicted he would go to you and I must admit I am feeling a bit more uncertain about my earlier comments now
DanTheFox07 Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Ive just watched Skysports news and apparently Ian Holloway is in line to be our new manager despite all the talk he isnt intrested, it said he has held talks this morning with his chairman. Also A source say`s that he turned his head once he knew Leicester were interested. The Reporter on skysports expects that now him being our new manager is a formailty.
Lester LXXIV Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Kokopops just texted me that SSN are reporting Holloway wants to come to us. EHWTFETC? Just been on SSN that he's had his head turned by our interest and was in 2 hour talks with his chairman this morning!
skinnydipper Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Just on SSN. Holloway is the only candidate Leicester interested in. Expected to be in by end of week . He's "had his head turned " by Leicester's interest
Durnerz Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Holloway confirmed on Sky Sports News as the only man Leicester are looking to. Has had meeting this morning with his chairman for 2 hours believed to be wanting to leave for Leicester. Not overjoyed with this appointment, sounds like Martin Allen mark 2. Tell me the difference between the two managers, both play hoof, both wise crackers but not great achievers, a big risk IMO.

Turned the opposite way and started to ****ing leg it!!!!
Master Fox Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 He's up for anything Souness, I flogged him some white dog shit on ebay a few months ago. Have you got anymore to sell? I'm willing to pay top price. Some bloke down the park told me if you put white dog shit in tea and drink it, makes you hallucinate.

The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Bruce Rioch just phoned me. He's desperate for the job. Anyone wondering where he's been for the past few years, he's been in the legal wranglings of a court case with Coventry City FC over using his name in their Ricoh arena. He dropped the case when he realised his dyslexia had made him look a complete prat.

Only difference is that Holloway HAS actually managed in our division already and has done a pretty decent job with Plymouth under the circumstances(ie Not had TOO much money to spend!)
lookwhaticando Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 I just saw that on SSN but the bloke just predicted he would go to you and I must admit I am feeling a bit more uncertain about my earlier comments now Ouch. :pinch: How's the pride?

Micky Adams was the same though, good job, crap style of play, no money. Soon as he got a few quid when we went up he couldnt manage the higher class of player. Thats what I worry about, as we'll be trusting Holloway with something hes never had.

Tell me the difference between the two managers, both play hoof, both wise crackers but not great achievers, a big risk IMO. I would actually have said that Plymouth are one of the better footballing teams in the division. Then again the division does have Stoke in it who would make any team (even us) look entertaining by comparison. I think Mandaric does seem to want a Harry Redknapp type. Allen didn't turn out to be the man who he thought he might be for various alledged reasons and Holloway is toned down by comparison. Allen liked to big himself up and Holloway seems to have similar ideas but more respect for his players. He comes across in his bbc column very differently to Allen in his approach to the managers role at a football club.

I think most of us will be happy if we ever get to that predicament where we can worry about getting a higher class of player!!! Lets get to "the Promised Land' before we think about staying there!!! At the moment it seems a fcuking million miles away!!!!!!
The People's Hero Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 It's got to be naturally whitened though - oxidised or so. None of this artificially bleached/dusted crap.
Daggers Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Graham SounessMike Newell at a push (proven to be as good as Holloway in a shorter time) Dave Penney (my opinion) Don't worry - they'll all get a go soon enough...
Mark Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Thats what I worry about, as we'll be trusting Holloway with something hes never had. Agreed, we only gambled on this scenario with Martin Allen a few months ago, and most of his signings failed to make the team. I'm hoping we're not foolishly making the same mistake twice.

I'd trust Holloway to spend money properly, personally speaking.
