lookwhaticando Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 He was sacked for non footballing reasons. Treating players like shit (allegedly) probably counts as a footballing reason if nothing else does. If the fitness of the players is as rumoured, that'd be another footballing reason.
Phil Bert Fox Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 A very good point. He isnt going to make the same mistake as he did when at QPR, he is looking out for himself and to be fair, I cant blame him.He has openly stated that he loves Plymouth (**** knows why, its a sh*t hole of a place) and maybe he is just looking for reassurance from the Pasty board. It's not you know I moved down here just over 2 years ago from Leics and it's loads better, Plymouth suburbs are a bit tatty but so are Leicesters, Argyle's ground is small but 3 sides have been re-developed, Don't get me wrong, I love to see Plymouth lose, but to say it's a shit-hole is a bit harsh, unless of coarse you don't like rural life, beach's, loads of different ciders, sailing, ski-ing, etc etc, oh and pasties, By all means have a go at Plymouth fans but don't call the place shite, cos it ain't! Rant Over
l444ry Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Like Allen, he'll be a popular choice because he's mates with everyone and another Mr Rentaquote. Like Allen, he probably won't be able to handle the step up.I wanted Milan in, but I actually I can't believe how amateurish he is at times. I'm still pissed he missed out on Royle and Little. Hell, I'd take Souness right now. Agree... but for what reason is Mandaric landing upon Holloway? Can't be Premiership experience as he's never managed in it. Can't be Championship success. Can't be that he's an up and coming manager - he's managed for 11 years. Can't be because other clubs are lining up for his talents. Don't get me wrong, Holloway is a good lower league boss. But it doesn't square with Messiah Mandaric's aims of taking a club of Leicester's size into the Premiership within three years. Your term "amatuerish" sums Mandaric up completely.

If the fitness of the players is as rumoured, that'd be another footballing reason. You could be right, all though we don't know that for sure. We never will, only Milan and Martin know. I still however thought it was harsh on him to not give him more time.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 He was sacked for non footballing reasons. The reason he was sacked is all part of being able to handle the step up.

davieG Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 "Leicester City is a football club? I've eaten kebabs with more class than that stale ham sandwich of a club" One of his best was "Cloughie, a top God amongst Gods. Of all the Gods, he made sure that Forest were the best thing to emerge from the dirty East Midlands". Ian Holloway
Cheese Me Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Ian Holloway Eh? Where do the quotes come from?
davieG Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Eh?Where do the quotes come from? Holloway apparently!

PAFC Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 The thing that is really pissing me off, is not that he may leave. But the fact that we have a game on saturday and if he is going why cant you just take him so we can have a few days to re-adjust. I still think he will stay though.
Dames Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Its about time he appointed a manager. We've been waiting a month where as it takes other clubs a few days or a week or 2 to sort things out. Milan should stop taking holidays and realise he has a job to do because he's the one that landed us in this mess.
Nath Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 Probably been mentioned already. But i cba to look through all these pages. Holloway was not at Plywood's training session today. So what's behind this?! Could it be...

Nath Posted 20 November 2007 Posted 20 November 2007 It has to be him now. In before Bristol for him to sit in the stand's whille Taggaz and Burrow's take charge of there final game. Ollie's first game on tele against cardiff. It is just all so obvious. Song's then chap's?

But the fact that we have a game on saturday and if he is going why cant you just take him so we can have a few days to re-adjust.I still think he will stay though. I've read Ollie's autobiography and he does go on banging about loyalty and togetherness and how he loves Plymouth, its fans etc and all that codswallop. Its just funny that he'll contradict everything he stood for by jumping on the first big check offered to him. Still, I'd love Ollie to come here.
