Kilworthfox Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 With some posters on here bashing Iain Hume i am intrigued to know if he is as well liked for his ability as I thought he was?
Kilworthfox Posted 31 December 2007 Author Posted 31 December 2007 Yes - surely Well that's what I thought but that's people and their opinions i guess?
RowlattsFox Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 At this moment in time he is good for the team but he isnt irreplaceable.
Simi Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Yes and no. He gets away with a lot of poor things because he does a lot of running around and looks commited, but often he's found wanting in attacking positions. I'd be looking to keep hold of him though without a doubt.
Father Ted Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Definitely Yes. I am really shocked and angry with the people not happy with him. Ok, he is a bit off form but where would we have been without his goals last season and this last month?? And when he is on the ball he creates things out of nothing and his energy spurs on the crowd.
Molson Canadian Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 he's not going anywhere, with the addition of more strikers and hopefully more stability upfront Hume can now play his natural position of attacking midfielder hopefully. Hume is one of the most passionate and hard working individuals on this team, the management knows that and the fans know it their is no way they would let him go unless they recieved a large transfer fee for him. YES TO HUME!
Darkzzz_ Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Yes to mr hume!! He runs himself into the ground and he loves this club!!
Simi Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Yes to mr hume!!He runs himself into the ground and he loves this club!! So that means he good enough to carry on playing in the first team!?
Darkzzz_ Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 So that means he good enough to carry on playing in the first team!? Well if you look around the squad we have had in the last few years do you think there has been many better than him, in terms of running for every ball and really fighting for the cause!! I dont think he is the greatest player in the world but based on his attitude and his character i would say he has earned the respect from us and he has put in some important performances for us! I agree in a sense with what you said above, but dont you think we expect too much from him because of the lack of quality in this squad??
syston_fox Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 this is proving pretty conclusive 27-1 in favour so far
danny. Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 if we can get 2 good strikers in front of him and stick him as a shadow striker in the hole just behind them in a freer position I think he will be great and more than likely score a few. His through balls are pretty good and he has a good shot from distance
Daggers Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 With some posters on here bashing Iain Hume i am intrigued to know if he is as well liked for his ability as I thought he was? Liked and respected for his effort - yes Liked and respected for his ability - no Accept offers for him? Absolutely, as whichever position you choose to play him in we can do better. No one in the current side (who's contract we hold) is indispensable.

Absolutely, as whichever position you choose to play him in we can do better. No one in the current side (who's contract we hold) is indispensable. one of the best out of a bad bunch.. Its a difficult situation as i think other teams notice that and give him special attention, which i think could account for him losing the ball often... It would be intresting to see how he is dealt with being in a team surrounded by players of similar, or better ability as i think teams wont be able to afford him special attention then... possibly giving him room to grow and that bit more space to do what he wants to a bit more... OR he might quickly find himself slipping away into a hole and not play as such a big part in the team....

Moreton Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 He is a very talented player with a very good work rate who is a stern favourite with the city faithful. I would be left feeling gutted if he left.
DB11 Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 How can he be bad for the team? Even if someone as bad as Elvis Hammond had the work rate of Hume then they'd be good for the team.
Bert Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 If Hume leaves. I'll be a notch under how annoyed/gutted i was when Izzet left.
Darkzzz_ Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 If Hume leaves.I'll be a notch under how annoyed/gutted i was when Izzet left. when bert's right he is right!!
Flynny Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 You can't try to judge him by seperating out his work rate from his ability when his work rate is a massive part of what makes him such a valuable player for us!
