smokey Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Osbourne, Wesolowski, Clemence, OakleyThat is what im talking about. Yes! 4 quality players competing for 2 CM places. You need the same at CB and the same up front! Ollie is trying to get quality competition all over the park, its just gonna be a hard job this month and in the summer as we have so much shite in the club that needs fooking off its unreal! With the good youngsters in the club and the work ollies doing we might actually have a good reserve side soon and then have some real competition for places. Well done ollie! Keep up the good work and for gods sake, get that Hammond out the club!
sdb II Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Osbourne, Wesolowski, Clemence, OakleyThat is what im talking about. exactly, you need 2 quality players for each position so if we get ozzy we're sorted. oh baby. just another wide man and a left back and all is swell at LCFC!!
LCFC2007 Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 I think that he will do us good for a bit but sooner or later we are going to have too many midfielders if we don't get rid of some.
Nick Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 I think that he will do us good for a bit but sooner or later we are going to have too many midfielders if we don't get rid of some. Too right. I for one am sick of the extensive midfield options at this football club. It's very clear we need strikers.
Bezzanator89 Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Osbourne, Wesolowski, Clemence, OakleyThat is what im talking about. Isaiah Osbourne (20) - Defensive Midfielder (!) Matthew Oakley (30) - Centre Midfielder Stephen Clemence (29) - Centre Midfielder James Wesolowski (20) - Centre Midfielder That does look promising, just curious of how good Osbourne is...
LCFC2007 Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Too right. I for one am sick of the extensive midfield options at this football club. It's very clear we need strikers. I also think we will go over board with strikers if we don't sell some. We have: Howard Hume Fraytt Hayles De Vries Hammond DJ Campbell Louis Dodds Reneil Sappleton Ashley Chambers Collins John That's 11 strikers. How many more do you want.
Daggers Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 HowardHume Fraytt Hayles De Vries Hammond DJ Campbell Louis Dodds Reneil Sappleton Ashley Chambers Collins John Leave the children out of it.
Bezzanator89 Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 To be fair, they do need to be given a chance. To this day, I have never seen Sappleton play...yet. Dodds is getting better wiht the experience he's getting and Ashley Chambers hasn't really been given a chnace to shine...again...yet.
ronnup Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 We don't need any more strikers. Simple. Mid-field cover we do need as if any of the lads who played against coc are injure we've only gor Weso and his fibreglass legs to cover.
FleckneyFox Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Yeah by the way who knows when John goes back because i thought his loan ended at start of Jan.
Stevosevic Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 I also think we will go over board with strikers if we don't sell some. We have: Howard Hume Fraytt Hayles De Vries - never play again, he'll be gone at end of season Hammond - doubt he'll play again DJ Campbell Louis Dodds - will be released on a free at the end of the season Reneil Sappleton - not ready Ashley Chambers - same as Sappleton Collins John - doubt his loan will be renewed That's 11 strikers. How many more do you want. When you consider the above, we only have five strikers who are likely to play.

Jack Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Yeah by the way who knows when John goes back because i thought his loan ended at start of Jan. he signed for the club on October 23 on a three-month loan deal So I presume on the 23rd January. Wiki - link
MPH Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Looking at the list i can see elvis being released, Fryatt being sold and John being sent back.. Take out the kids and it starts to look a bit more normal!!
Mort Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Looking at the list i can see elvis being released, Fryatt being sold and John being sent back.. Take out the kids and it starts to look a bit more normal!! Hammond’s been living on borrowed time for long enough and John was never likely to have his loan move extended (all hands on deck for Fulham at the moment anyway)… meanwhile time’s been running out for Fryatt for a while, but we should still be able to get a half decent fee from what ever League One outfit decides to take him off our hands.
Lester LXXIV Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Wasnt this meant to be going through today? Apparently so...
MikeyT Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Wasnt this meant to be going through today? I think i heard Ollie say Monday or Tuesday, so fingers crossed for today!
teblin Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Barber said last night that Milan said to him he was hoping for postive news by the end of yesterday

To this day, I have never seen Sappleton play...yet.Dodds is getting better wiht the experience he's getting and Ashley Chambers hasn't really been given a chnace to shine...again...yet. Sappleton is big and strong for his age but that will even out and in the end I fear we'll simply be left with a slowish striker who jumps like DeVries and who'll have limited opportunity to use his powerful shot. Dodds may be second top scorer at Lincoln but signs are, for whatever reason, that he'll be lucky to finish with more than a disappointing 8/10 goals and I cannot see that being enough to earn him a chance here although I do get the impression they've mostly played him out of position at Lincoln. However, he's had enough time to get the message over that he's a striker so maybe he's wasting a good opportunity. certainly he'll need to make more impression second half. Chambers isn't really ready for a first team chance yet. He seems to be getting some strength to go with his pace but we need to see bigger impact at a lower level yet. Watching him in the first half of Saturday's top of the table Academy clash with Villa he was perhaps our most promising attacker but he still looked up against it. Mind you the entire side seemed weary from the FA Youth Cup clash which went to extra time.

Osbourne would be a decent signing but with Oakley in, Im starting to worry about Weso. Maybe he should get loaned out if Osbourne does finally arrive.

I've long written his chances off as far as Leicester is concerned and mentioned many times that I don't expect him back from Lincoln.

The People's Hero Posted 15 January 2008 Posted 15 January 2008 Dodds has found his level at the Imps believe me Perhaps if they get relegated (which doesn't look unlikely) yes.
