Koke Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 I've seen enough of Laczko and Bori to say that I want them here next season. If they are taken care of and developed the right way, then they'll be good assets. Laczko is a hard working lad who's got a good jump on him and plus he gets in goal scoring positions quite a lot - so he's got the basics to do well in this division. His crossings should improve but he does have a good technique so I reckon we'll the best of him whenever that may be.
Uncle Albert Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 For me Bori has been excellent and played well in all his games ive seen. I aint been to any away games this year though so thats just all his home games. We should sign Bori, simple. If we don't i think it will be the final straw for me, Holloway can just fook off. If he turns down the chance to sign a young player, who he himself said is an absolute bargain, he is fooking clueless. Im not sure about Zsolt though, personally id sign him, he will be cheap too. If we can waste £1.5m each on the likes of Campbelland Howard, we can afford to take a 200k (im guessing he will cost that much) punt on Zsolt. Harldy a waste in my opinion. Now if you had said Fryatt i would be inclined to agree if we had spent £1.5 million on him.

He had a good game against Coventry but since then he's not really followed it up with anything. Mind you, I reckon that could be down to how Holloway wants him to play. Against Cov he seemed to have the freedom to do what he liked but after that match it seemed to me like he was under instructions to get the ball in early - probably not his game. However, I do feel this again the type of personality we need in our team. This is the type of player that Holloway has managed to turn into very good players in the past, like Halmosi. Maybe he should go back to that and stop trying to sign "names"

Maybe he should go back to that and stop trying to sign "names" You have to wonder if it's Mandaric that wants "names". He wanted JFH and there was interest in Robbie Fowler, presumably because there's publicity in signing a big name or two and the impression that you are seriously trying to make an impact. Being fair hindsight might well suggest Mandaric was right about Jimmy Floyd-H because I'd say 8 goals and 10 assists represented a decent return for his 37 outings and 13th place just now is not so bad given Cardiff's circumstances and comparing them to what we've achieved. Indeed, it might be argued that had we signed JFH instead of persisting with DeVries, Fryatt or signing Carl Cort then those goals/assists might well have left us at or above Cardiff's position. Again, there's a balance to be had because players like JFH can surely bring the best out of people like King and Gradel. But what we can't have is fading lesser lights who don't have any special impact.

Mandaric is certainly the one who wants the big names for the publicity, however I really do not see Holloway objecting to many of them when they're thrown his way. This is the first time he's been in this sort of posistion. One where he has money to spend and the resources to bring big name players with reputations to a club. But when you look at his achievements at Plymouth, working and developing with smaller reputation players has benefited him more. I said when he got here that I hoped he carried on doing that, but it seems the temptation has been to much and he's maybe jumped out his depth.
Tommeh Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Saw Dodds the other week away at Notts county with Tevez *the same night some of you trecked it down to Soton!) Thought he did very well, rarely gave the ball away and often looked one step ahead of his teammates. He started right mid switched to the left then back to the right. He seemed to have a lot of freedom mainly down to 2 holding midfielders behind allowing him to float behind the strikers. Certainly think he'd do well back here but he seems happy at Lincoln and I think he'll stay there permo.
STUHILL Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Gradel scored again, penalty!!! Shhhhh No-one tell Thracian!
STUHILL Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 MAX Gradel Gets his 2nd!!! As Fryatt misses yet another chance!!!

But what we can't have is fading lesser lights who don't have any special impact. JFH still has the skill on the ball but when Cardiff nearly sacked Jones near the start of the season, he was the cause of a lot of the problem as he had some of the worst fitness and movement of anyone I've ever seen - he's worked it up to the point where he's a useful player to have around, but he's very one dimensional - waddle about a bit, get good service, belt it in. I think we made the right decision not to get him, although its a much more debatable thing than at Christmas, but that Campbell maybe wasn't the right alternative and getting Cort was certainly a rubbish choice instead. Cardiff's side is all about quality midfield players like Ramsey and Parry, not so much JFH.
Nationwider Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 MAX Gradel Gets his 2nd!!! As Fryatt misses yet another chance!!! Gradel is now our top scorer this season with 10 from midfield.
Flynny Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Gradel is now our top scorer this season with 10 from midfield. I don't doubt he's a good player, but thats two or three penalties right?
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I'm more excited about seeing Gradel for us next season than any of our current players.
Cal Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I'm more excited about seeing Gradel for us next season than any of our current players. At least we know he cuts it in League One should we be relegated
davieG Posted 29 March 2008 Author Posted 29 March 2008 From the Bournemouth OS AFC Bournemouth 2-0 Millwall Maxi double extends home run Cherries: Forde, Bradbury, Cooper, Pearce, Gowling, Tessem (Pitman ht), Hollands, Bartley, McQuoid (Partington 68), Gradel, Vokes (Hutchings 83). Subs: Pryce, Franks. Millwall: Evans, Senda, Robinson, Harris, Savage (Brkovic 61), Martin, Simpson, Fuseini, Shaw (Gaynor 88), Karacan, Craig. Subs: Pidgeley, Bignot, Cochrane. Att: 4,962 Cherries were granted a shooting chance after just one minute. Richard Shaw felled Bartley and Cooper's free kick flashed past the post. The referee had to deal with a few sliding challenges in the greasy conditions although kept a lid on affairs in the opening exchanges. Neil Harris nearly broke the deadlock for the visitors on fourteen minutes. His overhead kick from ten yards out was excellently tipped over the bar by Cherries keeper David Forde. Forde has to punch away two further high balls into the Cherries box before landing awkwardly when clearing a cross from the right hand side. The keeper was fine to continue and on twenty-eight minutes made a good save down to his left to deny David Martin as Millwall began to gain control. Cherries were struggling to create chances and the next effort of any note was Lee Bradbury's curling shot wide of the far post on thirty-three minutes. Maxi Gradel showed he wasn't afraid to have a pop at goal with two quick attempts from the edge of the area. McQuoid and Gradel switched flanks for the closing minutes of an uneventful first half. The youth team player swung a cross for the Leicester loanee, but Gradel misjudged the bounced and the ball landed safely behind. Half time: AFC Bournemouth 0-0 Millwall The second half was slow to take shape with both sides continuing to frustrate each other in the middle of the park. Half time sub Brett Pitman had the ball in the net with a well angled drive, but it was ruledd offside from Voksey's ball. A loose ball in the middle of the park gave Jay Simpson a run on goal after fifty-five minutes, but Josh Gowling blocked well to concede a corner. From the flag kick Bas Savage had a chance at goal that beat Forde and was headed away from the line by Shaun Cooper. A deep free kick from Danny Hollands just shy of the hour mark caught out former Cherries trialist Rhys Evans. The Welsh keeper back pedalled and clawed the ball away from goal. A harshly awarded penalty gave Millwall a glorious chance to take the lead on sixty-three minutes. Shaun Cooper was adjudged to have felled Jem Karacan in the box. In fairness to the former Cherries midfielder, Karacan didn't appeal. Neil Harris stepped up and struck his penalty at a nice height for David Forde to save down to his right. Armet Brkovic acted quickest and was first to the rebound, but he missed the target with the goal gaping. His next attempt at goal three minutes later was a much better one. A centrally struck free kick from twenty-five yards was tipped away from the top corner by the ever more impressive Forde. After Cherries had weathered the Millwall storm Brett Pitman hit the post with a rasping effort. Maxi Gradel ran onto a hopeful forward ball and as Richard Shaw failed to clear effectively Pitman lashed in a shot that clipped the outside of the far post. Wth fifteen minutes remaining it was Bournemouth's turn to be awarded a spot kick. Sam Vokes took a knock to the face in challenging a high ball. Despite missing a penalty last week at Gillingham Max Gradel was adamant in taking this one. Brett Pitman reluctantly left him to it and Gradel smashed the ball in the bottom left corner. If there was any doubt over who should have taken the penalty there was no doubting the sheer quality of the second. Maxi Gradel took the ball from the left touch line, rounded three players and shot a powerful effort into the far corner. Usually restrained, Kevin Bond punched the air in delight as the three points were secured. Final Score: AFC Bournemouth 2-0 Millwall

Simi Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 And my god gradel has got some balls to step up and take the penalty without even being asked and offering. But maxi cooly smashed it away i think. At one stage i thought your keeper was going to save it.
Simi Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 He's a really good player, can be frustrating at times but most flair wingers like him are. Tries too hard sometimes. He also likes to beat the full back again and again to get the best crossing opportunity, but then losses it by trying for too long instead of just putting a ball across even if it gets deflected. His crossing can be erratic in quality as well. But he is capable of the sublime and amazing. Scores plenty of goals and takes penalties, scored 4 and missed 1.His outfield goals (5) have all been class. He doesn’t do simple goals. They’re either thunderbolts from 30 yards or mazy runs through the whole defence. He plays with his heart on his sleeve, very passionate, and his celebrations are great to! tongue.png Either some sort of cool dance (a cartwheel today) or simply going absolutely mental. He alone is worth the ticket fee, he gets the crowd going because you know anything can happen when he has the ball. He was quite good early in the season, but since his mother sadly died, he has been simply unstoppable. It’s such a shame we missed him for 2 months because of compassionate leave. But he’s re-paid us many many times over. He’s made himself the second best/most loved loan player of all time behind the one and only Jermain Defoe. I think that tells it’s own story. I’d be very interested to see how he gets on against defenders in the Championship.
hebangsthedrums Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 can't really get better feedback than that ^
Simi Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Ched, from which site is that from? Here. Very good site for other teams opinions and whatnot.
