All eyes on the Loanees

I dread to think how many Sir Baz has. Its unimaginable.

87. Each one with an Iranian woman hanging from it. An iranian woman not too dissimiliar to Bruce Forsyth.

Sorry to upset people but Leicester loaned Gradel out to Bournemouth without a call back clause. This was a big mistake. Milan can get upset with Bournemouth and shout and bang his fists, but Bournemouth said NO! So then Leicester where forced to loan Kelvin Etuhu. Max will not be coming back to Leicester until the start of the new season. Unless he gets injured.

I believe you. But exactly why would we be so daft as to do that?

I know that this is a thread for loanees at other clubs, but I got round to thinking about Hendrie's availablility for the Sheff Utd game. Is anyone aware of a clause in his contract that will prevent him from playing? Shame if he can't, I reckon he'd be ultra committed against them.

It's not a clause in the contract... it's an FA regulation, I believe.

A loan player cannot play for his loan club when said club comes up against his parent club.

So, Hendrie will be unavailable against Sheffield United. Unless they cease to be his parent club some time before that match...

a) We've chosen to blood a series of relatively inexperienced strangers anyway - Bori, Laczko, Etuhu. We've also brought in Clapham and Hendrie. Goals as a result? None from any of them. Assists? One by Hendrie and none by all the rest put together. Consequence? Seven goalless games out of 15 since January 19 and seven defeats.

Lackzo assisted Clemence's goal vs Norwich. To be fair Etuhu has barely plaed, and Clapham is a defender. Bori hasn't really had much of a chance either.

One thing about old zsolts is he always seemed to get in the positions where he could scored too. but hasn't as yet. think the guy has abilty but not the right time to be blooded.

Shame we can't get gradel back.

I stand corrected about Laczko's assist but it hardly represents a major contribution to the cause overall.

Etuhu has barely played but has been available for four games and has done exactly the same as most City wingers of late, looked okay to start with and progressively less so as time has gone on.

That Bori hasn't been given much of a chance hardly suggests a star in the making and, as for Clapham yes, he's a defender. Some defenders score and make goals. Others don't. Why the hell you'd get rid of someone who does the latter for someone who doesn't, when your team clearly needs every goal it can muster I have no idea.

Very interesting to hear. I did wonder what the clubs views were on Gradel's exploits this season and it seems blatant that they didn't perhaps realise how good he was and now he's proved he's a bit special they want him back and cannae have him until next season! :giggle:

We haven't even sent anyone to go and have a look at how Dodds is getting on at all this season.

But why would they not know? Gradel has been a prolific goalscorer for several seasons in arguably the best and most successful youth team we've ever had. He's not been hiding and goalscoring wingers are like pure gold.

They signed Newton because they preferred to go with experience and what a potentially disastrous and expensive mistake that's turned out to be, especially on top of losing Levi.

I think it's fair to say that the club don't think Dodds has a future here, offering him a new deal last season was bizarre. Not sure who was in charge when that happened.

As for Gradel, it does seem that the club are now aware of his talents, hence the 3 year deal and from what knowitall says, desperation at trying to re-call him. Mandaric lent Gradel to Kevin Bond as a favour, Holloway then allowed Gradel to stay there and I wonder whether Mandy is happy about that? Hmmmm.

shame you don't apply that rationale to your beloved academy Thrac.

Well for a start, we've had several different managers. So if one knew he was good, it doesn't mean the next incumbent did as they were hardly here for long and Gradel was out on loan during Megson's and Holloway's tenure. What is disgraceful is that Holloway and Penrice didn't feel it necessary to do some research on the players we had out on loan from decisions made previous to their arrival. Mandaric lent Bournemouth Gradel as a favour, Bond has said so himself. His exploits have obviously surprised our manager and his coaching staff and now they realise how good he is, it's too late to have our own player back until the end of the season. Crazy, but it sums us up.

I can see why Gradel was loaned out in the first place, but the longer he is there and the longer we continue to make a mess of things in this division just highlights what a horrendous decision it was to let them have him for the final part of the season.

I agree with that. I doubt anyone would say the lad's got no potential. But why we would try to blood a young outsider in such indecent haste while having the much more established Beswick I cannot understand.

The pair played in a reserve match a while back with Beswick at left back and Laczko on the wing. Laczko did fine but even from the more defensive position, Beswick was by far the more threatening, scoring and making chances throughout.

Yet he's never even been on the bench.

Bori is 24 not 18 or 19 like the Academy players.

It isn't even that he and Laczko are no good. Just that they were the wrong men at the wrong time.

I personally think Bori hasn't really let us down, he keeps the ball well. and hold he's shape, he just isn't going to go past people.

The game where he got taken off at half time would've done him no good at all as he was about cities best player that day.

Yeah, I can't understand the Bori situation either. Every time he played for us he seemed to link up fairly well with Stearman and he did look to have a good knowledge of the game. But it now seems Holloway has lost faith and left him out to dry. Shame really, as I do beleive he is the type of player Holloway should be looking at developing.

Someone that's hungry for English football and willing to learn new things. As opposed to some of the big time Charlies we have here who are just picking up yet another wage packet.

Agreed.

Bori did look very good in his first game at home to Cov, and looks like a typical winger who will hug the touchline and will always deliver a ball when the time is right.

For me Bori has been excellent and played well in all his games ive seen. I aint been to any away games this year though so thats just all his home games.

We should sign Bori, simple.

If we don't i think it will be the final straw for me, Holloway can just fook off. If he turns down the chance to sign a young player, who he himself said is an absolute bargain, he is fooking clueless.

Im not sure about Zsolt though, personally id sign him, he will be cheap too. If we can waste £1.5m each on the likes of Campbell and Howard, we can afford to take a 200k (im guessing he will cost that much) punt on Zsolt.

We have seen how well these guys can play in the Cov game, im sure if Zsolt had got a hat-trick that match like he easily could have done he would still be a regular.

Sign them Holloway :@
