Dr The Singh Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 No we don't really need to bother with this one.People do get so uptight. Twelve games to go, 36 points to play for and only 14/15 points needed. We could almost take the month of March off and just come back for Sheffield United. Five games in April, five wins, piece of cake. You keep off the Barbar Thrac!!!
Babylon Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 Five games in April, five wins, piece of cake. Exactly... lets do it in dramatic fashion. It's not as if we've suffered enough already or anything.
Jordan Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 This one is so important, even I am going! But while I don't think Leicester will bring any points back from Cardiff, I'd like Saturday's results to make the Preston game slightly less nerve-wracking for us...
Staf Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 This will be a massive game i agree with other people if we lose we are down for the past few weeks we have been saying we have to beat the teams below us and this is where we have to start.
Joe. Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 I still don't think we'd be "down" if we lost this one. It would look increasingly likely but people are forgetting that there are still 12 games to go That's a lot of points up for grabs. Don't get too hasty yet people...
Thracian Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 You keep off the Barbar Thrac!!! It's the only comfort these sad times!
demon_dog Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 I tend to agree with most folks views that this is a must win game. Looking ahead to the games we have to play, it's teams like this where we need to be picking up maximum points. Some say we have 12 games to go so no problem. I disagree, from those 12 games we need about 15 points, this is more than a point a game, something we have not yet managed to acheive. ( OK I can count 37 points from 34 games!!) This works out at approx 1.1 point per game, we need 1.25 points per game, doesn't sound a lot I know but so far we cannot even manage to raise the bar to attain this target. Time the players realised this simple fact. We have 6 Home games left, let's try and win them all, then we will be safe. Can't count on away form cos we never seem to leave the bus!!!!!!!!!!!

I could have a word with DavieG about perhaps putting the bus in midfield against Cardiff instead of Kingy!

Of course this is a must win game. All games against the teams below us are. And should we not get wins, we deserve to go down. 'Nuff said. The players need to sort it out. Like, NOW!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 I don't think we'll win this. We will be feeling the pressure and it'll end 0-0 or 1-1 in my opinion. We will beat Bristol City though. That is an easier game than Preston. I think we'll take 4 out of our next 9 and Southampton will be more important than Preston as I think they're more likely to drop.
leeleic Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 I'm going to this one, and i'm buzzin for it!! Also where's the best, most vocal, place to sit? I'm gonna sing my heart out and try to do my bit to urge this shower along.

But while I don't think Leicester will bring any points back from Cardiff, I'd like Saturday's results to make the Preston game slightly less nerve-wracking for us... You could become the next cult icon in Leicester City history, simply by being there. That is, IF they should win that day.
leicesterseddon Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 Somewhat premature but the OS seems keen Keep The Home Fires Burning Posted on: Wed 27 Feb 2008Leicester City will be looking to extend their impressive run of home form when they take on Preston North End at the Walkers Stadium on Tuesday, March 4 (7:45pm). Ian Holloway's side have won four and drawn one of their last six home fixtures, scoring 10 goals and conceding just two along the way. And Ollie's men will be looking to further bolster their Championship points tally when they come up against Alan Irvine's side in front of what looks set to be a bumper crowd. The match will also mark the last chance for City supporters to catch the Foxes under lights at the Walkers Stadium before the end of the season. Tickets are currently on general sale for the clash, priced from just £23 for adults, £21 for seniors, £15 for under 22s/students, £10 for under 16s, £5 for under 12s and free for under 8s (family enclosure only). CLICK HERE to buy your tickets online through the Club's official e-ticketing facility. Meanwhile, supporters are reminded that tickets remain on sale for Saturday's trip to Ninian Park to take on Cardiff City. I hate that expression...oh and btw i'm sh*tting myself about this match. if we don't win, we're down. simple as.
Joe. Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 If we lose this game we are not down. People are being way too hasty here. There's 12 games left of the season for god sake. Yes its a particularly important game but isn't every one from now on like that? There's 36 points still up for grabs in a division where anybody can beat anybody.

James. Posted 27 February 2008 Posted 27 February 2008 I can't go Cardiff so this is looking an increasingly tempting alternative. Tempting probably isn't the right word. Although I do think we'll scrape through it with a 1-0 scrappy, horrible, ugly, beautiful win.
Raj Posted 28 February 2008 Posted 28 February 2008 Last season V Brum at home we were in a far worse predicament. We lost that game. But stayed up. This Preston game is no worse than that. If we lose we aint finished(although obviously it aint gonna help is it!!!) As long as we stutter over the finishing line in anything over 21st position at the end of this season, its job done* *However, having said that, its another crap, disgraceful, shameful and embarassing season for LCFC. By implying that IF we do finish in anything over 21st position is job done, its nothing to be proud of.

FleckneyFox Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 if Sheff Wed lose their 2 in hand and we beat Preston, we are in a fantastic position to avoid the drop

By implying that IF we do finish in anything over 21st position is job done, its nothing to be proud of. As see what you're saying but it's probably more important to finish with a bit of style and a bit of form than you'd think. Recent seasons have been largely unrelieved disapointments in the League and I think it is time to see what I thought Steve walsh was hinting at on the radio - the corner being turned. I know that money will talk loudest but if we are going to attract genuine high quality players to the club there's more chance we'll do that if we can show we've got the makings of a consistently good and attractive side. If I signed a lucrative contract I'd want to make sure there was a good chance of picking up win/League position bonuses regularly - and that wouldn't happen if you're going to be languishing at the foot of the table. Whether Walsh is right and it's not just another false dawn remains to be seen but I'll be looking for a bit of attitude to go with results in the remaining games - starting with the no-nonsense win we should be determined to achieve on Tuesday.
maddog Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 If we don't win this game we are in deep deep trouble. If we lose we are in a much worser position than before todays game. Assuming Sheff Wed get points in their games in hand, we are 3 points above the drop zone and Preston will fall into 22nd spot. IF we lose Tuesday, Ollie's job will still be in danger.
lookwhaticando Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 Will we do the ever elusive 2 in a row No. I'll be home to listen to the game on Tuesday... so a home loss it shall be. Sorry boys and girls.
lildave3 Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 Just hope we can build on today with another decent performance.
Nationwider Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 Knowing our luck, their keeper will get on the scoresheet agan.
