Flynny Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 I've always said that, for a deputy, he's quite good. He's just lacks the command and consistancy to be a first-team Championship keeper. If he's played well as was reported today, good on the bloke.
davieG Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 Wouldn't it be a good idea to wait and see how those attended the game rate the players?
coale39 Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 Wouldn't it be a good idea to wait and see how those attended the game rate the players? I wish they would hurry back!
The Stig Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 Fair play to Hendo. He can be an OK keeper, he's just inconsistant. Like the other ten!
SamL Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 I didn't go to the game today but after the Southampton game I said I never wanted to see him play for us again. He had a shocker that day. I think I'll stick by what I said until he proves me otherwise. If we want to be winning every week we need someone better. Fact.
Alexikokopops Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 Fez, Mablo and 'Kokopops opinion: Didn't have anything to do today. Did manage to catch the balls that came near him. Kicking was extremely wayward, didn't help so much in the second half.
Leicester Lass Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 To be fair, his kick for our goal was a beauty But other than that, had absolutely nothing to do.
Bryn Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 Surely surging with confidence after today - having been, pretty unfairly, discarded this season multiple times to come in, keep a clean sheet at a place like Cardiff and get an assist/de facto goal can only do good for him. I heard the commentator say he was mobbed by the players, what a boost that will be. We might get through the 3 weeks after all.
lildave3 Posted 1 March 2008 Posted 1 March 2008 Held everything, that was pretty much all of what was he made to do today. Thank god.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 I don't remember anyone having a huge beef with him - but I do remember some great saves from Hendo. Yet no one complained when he was dropped from the lineup. Surely he is good enough to get a start, I wonder why he hasn't moved on?
Messi Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 he played well he caught the ball well at crosses and his kicking wasnt even that bad Kisnorbo MOM
Daggers Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 Last season, Hendo was the lynch-pin in our decent run which ended with him receiving plaudits from everyone including the media. Yesterday, it was evident that he has regained the confidence that he was lacking earlier in the season when he looked abysmal. True, he wasn't tested much - but he pulled off two cracking saves (one of which wouldn't have counted, granted) and seemed much more assured. His kicking was never his strong point and I'll not lose any sleep over the fact that this hasn't improved...I'm just happy that I'm not frightened to death to see his name on the sheet on Tuesday.
Jimmy Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 I don't remember anyone having a huge beef with him - but I do remember some great saves from Hendo. Yet no one complained when he was dropped from the lineup. Surely he is good enough to get a start, I wonder why he hasn't moved on? because he isn't good enough to be 1st choice at this level, he's far too inconsistent and isn't commanding enough
coale39 Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 Ive always thought Henderson is a very good back up. Much rarther have him then Logan.
The People's Hero Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 Ive always thought Henderson is a very good back up. Much rarther have him then Logan. Amen to that. Logan is abysmal.
Micky Ruddle Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 Give him a run in the team, he will rediscover his confidence. Impressed with him last year, but this year against the Saints in the cup, he was dodgy. But my brother said he was good, likewise with the rest of the team. Long may this continue
Joe. Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 Never liked him and I always fear for our lives when he's in goal. Quite frankly he's a total liability. But credit where it's due, bar one incident yesterday he had a good game. Luckily for us he didn't have a lot to do and Cardiff didn't manage a worthy shot on target.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 Didn't see the Cardiff game, but in general Hendo is a pretty good shotstopper, but not so hot on crosses and bossing the box (which generally prevents people getting decent shots off anyhow) however, those 2 can grow with confidence, whereas shotstopping is natural ability. So just maybe...
Simi Posted 2 March 2008 Posted 2 March 2008 I'm not a fan to be honest. He doesn't command his defence enough as a good goalkeeper should. I find every time he goes near the ball I have my heart in my mouth, not a good sign. For now though, he's going to have to do and I'll get behind him.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 3 March 2008 Posted 3 March 2008 Amen to that.Logan is abysmal. Even Logan had a good run, albeit brief.
