Hugo Sanchez Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Good bit of business. We have been crying out for a centre half with pace for as long as I can remember, he's got the other basic attributes as well. I think with the right coaching from Taggart and this lad could be quality. I wonder what that bint of his thinks to the news of him signing for the mighty Leicester? I doubt she'll be impressed with Liquid & Envy on a Tuesday Night.I would be tempted to throw him straight in, I know our defence is tight as a pair of wotsits, but coming from a club like Chelsea he might be able to pass the ball and we are crying out for a centre half who can do that and give us half a chance of utilising our quality in midfield. Not all about pace though in defence, take Elliot and Taggart or Bold and Adams. Being a big lad will help though. Just hope he's not lightweight like Matt Heath was.
Joe. Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Well the description of him sounds promising enough, but then again they're always going to enhance any player we sign on the OS. But Chelsea didn't sign him for no reason did they, he's got to have something about him I would have thought. Overall I'm pleased with this, definitely one for the future by the sounds of things.
Master Fox Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Welcome to the footballing cesspit of the world Harry my friend. If you ever wanted have a successful career, well, you've pretty much blown your chances of ever becoming a decent player. Let your life long decline begin. Welcome to Leicester City Fc.
teblin Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Not all about pace though in defence, take Elliot and Taggart or Bold and Adams. Being a big lad will help though. Just hope he's not lightweight like Matt Heath was. Matt Heath was Slow also. So he has one thing over him.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Didn'y knowitall mention the other day that Kisnorbo will leave at the end of the season, having at least one centre-half with some pace and passing ability will be a refreshing change. Yep, Kissa is off and Worley will replace him.
Jimmy Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Says in the article we paid a small amount Furthermore I'm sure that players younger than 21 don't qualify for Bosman free transfers, though I may be wrong. So we'd have had to pay anyway. Plus, with Preston interested as well, we may have paid for sole negotiations. no if they are not offered a new contract by their current club that is equal to or greater than their current they can leave for free
Sods Posted 6 March 2008 Author Posted 6 March 2008 Every team in my opinion should have four centre backs that can be reliable when called upon. So this is a good signing as we now have Kisnorbo, McAuley, Worley and N'Gotty.
Babylon Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Come on, they are planning ahead. Kissa will not drop down to play in league 1 will he ? So this lad will come in and play in Kissa place IF we go down in my opinion. He won't play at all this season untill we're safe or already down. Come on what? We aren't in league bloody one. Plenty of players might leave, doesn't mean you sign all the replacements now.
Webbo Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 When he was here on trial, didn't Ollie say something about him pushing Howard or someone off the ball. Pretty impressive for a teenager. It could be that he has that bit of character and forcefulness that we've been lacking.

If anyone can train a defender to be big and ugly then its him. and he has pace too.
Calum McDermott Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 They aren't stupid, if we go down Kissa will leave and Worley will take his place. They are planning just if worse comes to worst. No way is that the reason for his signing

You have to by players for the future and the present, in the past weve built for the present which has ultimatly led to our fall these last few years. we build year on year rather then building a sqaud thatwill last 4-5 years, i credit Ollie he has bought in players that have a chance to prove now, but are very much for the future. Were looking healthy atm in this repect with Weso, Mattock, Stears, Fryatt (Still young), Worley, Stappleton, Hayes, Gradel, Ashley Chambers, Levi Porter (still young ish), Logan (Young keeping talent). Thats a full squad there, and there are so many more i could mention. Agreed we do need to concentrate on staying up atm aswell, but the signings weve made in the last few weeks have been good ones. Hendrie will be part of the fight now, and so will Etuhu. Ollie seems to know what hes doing. Hes not preparing us for league one, hes preparing the team for the future aswell as the present, thats what building a squad is all about. Something we seem to have forgotten over the last 3-4 years. Some older more experianced players are required, but you have to balance that with young talent that can learn from that experiance in the sqaud.
Lovejoy Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Personally I would throw him straight in, if he has the pace.
lavrentis Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Building for league 1 already i see Well I don't see that.
Daggers Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Who are you expecting us to sign Fabregas? Lita would have been nice.
Bryn Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 I think it's safe to say that throwing him in now would be something we would regret. Especially when our defence is fine.
STUHILL Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Good signing! Glad to hear at team like Chelsea wanted to hold on to him too! All this talk of signing him bcos we are going to get relegated is shite! We need to keep signing the right players for the future and as someone said a pacey CB is quite rare these days. Hopefully, see him in action next season sometime if he shines in the reserves!
whitlock Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 So if we had signed Henry does that mean were planning for the premiership?
Thracian Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 This lad's got some presence but there's plenty of rough edges to clear up. In particular when he lost the ball in the reserves once he just stood still grumbling with the referee while play developed and the opposition almost scored. But doubtless Taggart will soon put tha particular aspect right and there's little doubt Worley is quite commanding and can play a bit so, with City short of centre-backs below first team level, I'd say he's got an outstanding opportunity if he listens and works hard to improve.

Fox in a Box Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Worley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoRHEmtlWTs not a good taste in birds thou Charley Uchea is dating new Chelsea star Harry Worley and proving to former Big Brother doubters that she does kick around with football celebrities. The 18-year-old’s team mate Joe Cole - gasp … another footballer evicted Big Brother housemate Charley knows - introduced Charley to Harry at a London night club. The celebrities appeared to hit it off with each other and have getting together a lot. A Chelsea source said the centre back in the Reserve and Youth teams knew how to defend and that included against Charley’s clinging claws.
The Reverend Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Lita would have been nice. Lita would of been very nice indeed. But if Scott Sinclair says we're too shit, then i dont think Lita would argue!

Was really happy about the signing but now I know this something clearly wrong with his eye-sight/hearing/ability for rational thought, I'm a bit worried.
