Falling out of the club of 9 will hurt the most

Being relegated will hurt, especially as we will fall out of the club of 9 teams never to be in the 3rd tier.

Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton, West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle and us.

To fall out of that club of 9 will be devastating. I certainly don't want us to fall out of it in my lifetime of supporting Leicester City. This is the stat that basically says we are overall in the top 9 clubs in football history. Forget about the present time, we are basically over our entire history, in the top 9 clubs in English football, simple. We haven't won the Champions League or Premiership, but it's League football thats the bread and butter of the game, and we have NEVER dropped below this League.

Ollie better get some tactics right or just fook off and let Walshy in for the last 3 matches. The players better perform for the final 3 games. We cannot fall out of this club.

Relegation i can handle, watching us in League 1 i can handle because we will eventually get back to the Championship and then the Premiership, but if we are relegated, we can never get back to the most exclusive club in English football. Ollie will be labelled the man who ruined Leicester City's history if we go down this season.

Totally agree mate. Apart from being in a lower division than Cov, this is what will hurt me the most. It's a fantastic statistic.

The club of 9 isnt that important in the grand scale of things. Our future and what lies ahead if we are relegated are the important things.

We need to be realistic and stop living on past glories.

I really came that class to tears on saturday!!!

It really hurts doesn't it??

I know the feeling. As soon as Kevin Lisbie scored, it really dawned on me what a dire situation we're in.

I didn't feel like celebrating Humes goal, I was devastated that we couldn't beat the worst team in the division on our home turf.

Memories of last season come flooding back even though we're in a worse situation this year. Nobody expects us to win at Barnsley, but lets prove them wrong. I really hope this fixture is as great as Preston was last season.

What a ridiculous suggestion.

Anyway this club of 9 thing is a nice record to have but do you honestly think that it means we are one of the top 9 clubs in the country, past or present?

I know what you mean mate, my cheering was one of relief that we had spared ourselves from losing. I didn't jump and whatever to Chelsea Dagger.

Actually I feel it is, the kudos attached to that statistic gives the fans something tangible to be proud of; for a club that has never won the top league title or the FA cup never mind anything in Europe it is a massive feather in our caps and must not be dismissed lightly.

It also provides an extra edge, a motivational factor in avoiding the drop into League 3 or at least it should.

I doubt this bunch of degenerates (players) even know about it!

I know what you are saying but I feel its stats such as these that delude people into thinking we are To big to go down.

At this moment in time, anything that has happened to this club and its history is irrelevant to the next 3 weeks. The players need to be focusing on the job in hand not the fact that if they fail they will go down in history as the worst squad (Results wise) LCFC has ever had. Live for the now, not the past!!

It is only my opinion and of course there will be many different opinions on this subject, I just feel that too much has been made of our history and its coming back to haunt us, we are not the same team we were 10,20 or however many years ago.

Do these knee-jerk, hands-waving, hysterical outpourings mean people have finally stopped reckoning we can make the playoff? :dunno:

Stopped  I never started to think that we could!!

You've ruined my day now. Thanks!

We can still make it if all the teams above go into admin!

The Nine fact is now it's not history, if it turns to 8 then it will be history.

I don't think the 9 fact makes people believe we're big anymore than Cov think their big because they won the FA Cup once but it does give a sense of pride, besides the two things, remaining in the nine and staying up are inextricably linked lose one and you've lost both of them so I don't see how it hurts to attempt to use it as a motivational tool.

I wish people would just forget this Walshy as manager thing.

Its a joke.

I know. walshy was a great player but wouldn't hack it as manager.

Agreed. He hasn't even got the relevant badges...

Apart from nutters like mad dog I think pretty much everyone is in agreement that Walsh is far from ready or able to manage this club.
