Dr The Singh Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 Well he might just be doing that and he's only talking about Ince because MKD's chose to make it public. Good publicity for city, it give's the fans a sense that mandaric is dead serious about taking us forward?????
Number 6 Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 Well he might just be doing that and he's only talking about Ince because MKD's chose to make it public. Have you got a MKD side?

Not a word you hear every day. In fact, apart from in this expression, it is now so rarely used that it's hard to think of a shrift that isn't short. The verb form, shive, is also now an almost forgotten antique. A shrift is a penance (a prescribed penalty) imposed by a priest in a confession in order to provide absolution, often when the confessor was near to death. In the 17th century, criminals were sent to the scaffold immediately after sentencing and only had time for a 'short shrift' before being hanged

RedOnRed Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 Before you make judgement please refer to some of the posts he has sent me and then you can talk about close to abuse. This guy at MKD thinks PI his everybodys choice but hes not, My 1st choice is BD and if thats the case he should stop slagging city off. Please remember city fans never went about slagging Bolton fans off when they came and Pinched Megson and joining in Boltons message boards but Megson was not everybodys choice at Bolton.Yes the Plymouth Fans are ok.But if you want to delete this topic go ahead but hes not going to keep feeding me nr abusive crap without getting some back. Hmmm, you've got me there. When have I been "close to abuse" or "nr abusive" to you?
Mickey O'Neil Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 This is bloody killing me, all this friggin' waiting. Saw on SSN about an hour ago that Blackburn have whittled the 40-odd applicants down to 6, although they are only going to interview 4 . (Maclaren, Big Sam (?), Shearer (?)..possibly 3/4 applicants?). Out of that 4, I can't see Ince being one of them. No. 6, maybe, but not top 4. *If* Blackburn were interested, would Wankerman have not gleefully spouted off to the press that Blackburn have approached them like the gobshite did when we asked for permission? This makes me think that Winkleman has already come to the conclusion that he may lose Ince, but after that cheap stunt where he said we have made a 'Huge Offer', he has decided to whore out Ince to the highest bidder.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 Hmmm, you've got me there. When have I been "close to abuse" or "nr abusive" to you? Same here,When was i.
RedOnRed Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 1. Last year in league 2 we beat every league 1 team we played, including Swansea who were running away at the top of the league at the time. 2. We already have a fairly decent squad which needs minimal strengthening. So Ince won't need an over sized budget to work with. 3. As far as i'm aware Ince is already on a pretty decent package and I know is provided with a pretty swanky car by the club. He also isn't short of a bob or two after a successful playing career - so isn't desparate for the money. 4. We have a superb ground, training facilities and a good academy. 5. Ince has a very good relationship with the fans, players and chairman. I know you have the history, funds and ambition, but two of those we don't need and one of them we've already got. I don't mean to be rude, but realistically speaking why would Ince want to renege on his contract and under the circumstances move to another league 1 club with the prospect of working with a chairman that goes through managers like toilet paper?
Narborough Bod Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 1. We already have a fairly decent squad which needs minimal strengthening. So Ince won't need an over sized budget to work with. we also have a squad - it is both big and underachieving and about to be decimated - woo hoo 3. As far as i'm aware Ince is already on a pretty decent package and I know is provided with a pretty swanky car by the club. He also isn't short of a bob or two after a successful playing career - so isn't desparate for the money. we could offer him 3 years pay for 6 months work!!! 4. We have a superb ground, training facilities and a good academy. so do we, our academy are very good at not playing for us. 5. Ince has a very good relationship with the fans, players and chairman. We could ruin that in 3 weeks, patience is not something we have in abundance. I know you have the history, funds and ambition, but two of those we don't need and one of them we've already got. I would like to see him here but he would be a prize prat to make the move at the moment.

Because we have.... a better ground, better facilities, better players (under performing currently), better academy, higher wages, higher transfer fees, a history, a higher profile, more fans. Is it really that hard to grasp? In the championship we were in the top 6 for size. It's like Villa getting relegated from the premier league and wanting Roberto Martínez of Swansea as their new manager. The guy might be loyal and stay, as could Ince.... but apart from the leagues we are in there is CURRENTLY no comparison. I wouldn't blame Ince for staying, but could perfectly understand why he would want to come. You seem to be suffering the same delusions the Plymouth fans were, they couldn't understand why Holloway would leave to come to us. A club goodness knows how much lower than them in the same league.
Babylon Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 I would like to see him here but he would be a prize prat to make the move at the moment. For what reason? If he believes in himself and what he can do, there is no reason to fear coming here.

I'm not saying our ground is better, but wait until you visit and then decide. Have you a better academy and facilities? Ours are good but how do you know yours are far superior? Do we need higher wages and higher transfer fees? After what I said before I think not and we won the league and a trophy last year without history while you unfortunately got relegated with it. Obviously i'm not suggesting that we are on a level playing field club wise, what I am saying is that we're now both in the same division and as one of the favourites to get promotion we are in a decent position ourselves for the season ahead. Yes, Ince is ambitious but I suspect his ambitions will lie elsewhere in the Championship or above. If Ince does move to you i'll wish him well and come on here and have a big slice of humble pie whilst wiping the egg off my face.
Daggers Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 To anyone concerned that people who support other teams are being treated in a childish manner: Our resident Franchise fan is a one post poster, all he does is repeat the same bullshit mantra. It's like reading a post about Sheehan times 10 to the power of ****ing boring. If this tit is allowed to continue posting this crap he will continue to receive shit from people. I wouldn't mind so much but putting him on block doesn't prevent me from still seeing the bollocks he comes out with when he is quoted by other people. Christ I hope we don't get Ince - the dick will move in here again for another sodding six months.
Narborough Bod Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 For what reason? If he believes in himself and what he can do, there is no reason to fear coming here. I fear us as fans would not have patience and more importantly, that Milan would not have patience. I wanted him pre Allen and like like his attributes as a Manager having hated him as a player. I just think we are a risk which he doesn't necessarily need. Both us and MKD could be a springboard for him to go to a bigger club (hence already being touted for Blackburn). Why move to us when he is already in a position where one more decent season could see a far bigger club showing an interest.

If anyone's being repititious in their comments I would say it's all of us. Why? Because there is no news other then to debate how likely he would be to move. As I understand it Ince is on a family holday in Portugal. So an approach by anyone right now, including even our chairman is possibly very limited if not impossible to arrange until he's returned.
Babylon Posted 10 June 2008 Posted 10 June 2008 Have you a better academy and facilities? Ours are good but how do you know yours are far superior? I said better not "far superior". The academy won the overall title the season before last, the fruits of which are about to bare fruit. Our training facilities etc were created when we were in the premier league and it's fair to say we paid a fair few quid for them. Do we need higher wages and higher transfer fees? I didn't say you do need them, but we have them!! I think not and we won the league and a trophy last year without history while you unfortunately got relegated with it. History does not win you games, but it gives you presence. When Leicester City come calling it's quite different to when MK Dons come calling... we are a name.
