Number 6 Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 I just want to know what's going on. Are MKs refusing permission to speak to Ince? Is he waiting to hear from Bburn? Have we actually spoken to Ince and are just keeping it quiet? I don't like being kept in this place, it's dark.
Matt Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 I just want to know what's going on. Are MKs refusing permission to speak to Ince? Is he waiting to hear from Bburn? Have we actually spoken to Ince and are just keeping it quiet? I don't like being kept in this place, it's dark. The problem lies with MK Dons imo. First they come out and potentially fuk Leicester and Milan up by telling the world we have made an approach (Potentialy fuking us up if Ince turned us down...Looking like prats and basically whoever we go to next will be seen as second choice) and now as far as I can see there being twats fuking us about not letting us talk to him (I've seen nothing official saying we have been granted permission). Maybe but I doubt Ince is still on holiday, It only takes a second to say no, and he has clearly come out and talked publically about Blackburn so how come he's taking so long about discussing Leicester with his chairman/meeting with Milan? Maybe its another fuk up down to Milan, Maybe Milan is where the problem lies and this is the downfall of the deal is down to Milan, That wouldn't surprise me at all. But to reassure MK Dons fans (and if I was an MK Dons fan) i'd want confirmation from Ince saying whether the deal if off or still being discussed. Equaly i'd like the same as a Leicester fan, Where do we stand. Thanks to many years of disappointments, failures, and the rest nothing surprises me with Leicester anymore, With Milan here it just adds to that fact.
davieG Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 All this frustration is the result of Mandaric opening his big gob and making rash promises/targets without having control of the situation. He now has fans expecting a quick resolution and a top class appointment - when it all goes tits up, and it will do because one man's top choice is another's last resort he'll have a load of disillusioned fans on his hands - it's the same with this Premier League in 2 seasons bollocks. The guy is a complete lose cannon - it's alright have one in an organisation but when it's the guy at the top it just chaos.

But saying he wants a manager in by June 16th, was a fairly sensible decision. The fans wanted to know what was going on and this was a fair few weeks ago that he said he wanted a manager in with two weeks to go before pre-season started. But as per usual, Mandaric has seemed to take far too much time in appointing a manager, one that has a very high chance of failing, which makes you wonder why he dithers for so long.

Absolutely, he has played the fans with his media announcements, as always he has raised expectations.....................

Maybe if the people on his list were unemployed but he should know from past experience that if they are currently in a job, and successful ones usually are then he has little if any control over the situation, anyone who has ever tried to recruit someone would know that. Even Aldridge was saying we'll get who we get when we can it's more important to get the right person. To be fair we could well have a good manager in place by monday. We could but it doesn't alter the fact that he's a bombshell!

teblin Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 No-go on Ince by Bill Anderson Paul Ince could miss out on his chance of the Leicester City job if MK Dons do not grant permission by the weekend for talks with Milan Mandaric. The City chairman hopes to complete his managerial interviews in the next two days and then name the new manager early next week. And, as Mandaric insists in doing everything by the book, it could be that Ince will not be among those he talks to. With Alan Shearer pulling out of the running for the Blackburn vacancy to which Ince has also been linked, the balance appears to have swung towards Ewood Park in that respect, even though Rovers appear not yet to have made an approach for the former Manchester United and Liverpool man. Ince said in an interview yesterday that he was “flattered” to be linked with a club in the Premiership where he hopes one day to be a manager, but he made no reference to the Leicester situation which might be significant. Mandaric, frustrated at the delay, said: “We are making sure we go through the right procedure with respect to another club's manager and, until we get the proper permission, there is nothing we can do. “As I have already said, I do not want to give up on him but it is still my intention to carry on talking to other candidates in the next couple of days and then, hopefully, be in a position to make a decision over the weekend.” The City chairman is still confident that he will land the right man for the job and revealed one major factor which will shade his decision. He said: “The new manager will have to be someone who shares my own ambition for this club. “He will be coming to do what he can for the club, not for what the club can do for him. “I am sure that when I make the decision, hopefully over the weekend, that it will be the right one to take us forward, first back up to the Championship and then to look at the next big step to the Premiership. “This has been a very difficult time for me as a chairman and I have been working very hard to make sure that, when we begin our build-up for next season, everything will be in place.” Ince is still the clear favourite among City fans who have taken part in the Mercury's online poll on the thisisleicestershire website. He currently has 42 per cent of the votes followed by Sam Allardyce on 20, Billy Davies on 17 and Simon Grayson on 11. John Gregory, who has also been mentioned, polled only two per cent
RedHux Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Face it, you're not getting Ince or Davies and you don't want Gregory. You've only one realistic choice left.....David Platt. IN all seriousness though I think if Ince was interested in your approach he would've mentioned it in an interview instead of all this constant Blackburn nonsense, which is obviously a job he is interested in. I think your best bet would be to nick one of the decent non-"big name" managers. Look at the job done by the Donny manager and Gary wotsisname from Brizzle city.
He's not bald Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 It's all a smoke screen,Ince won't be coming to Leicester that's for sure,my best guess is that we'll end up with Gregory and Mandaric knows that and will use all this dithering and name dropping as an excuse to say that he tried and failed to get Ince...total bollox IMO and another nail in the old box,we are going nowhere next season!!

On the other hand in response to your "I think if Ince was interested in your approach he would've mentioned it in an interview" I would have thought due to law, legal matters and confidentially clause's e.t.c, he might not be able to talk or discuss the matter. David Platt? Not even heard him mentioned - Well I have but only as 1 or 2 fans suggestions.
RedHux Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 I think/hope for the sake of football that Platt has decided management isn't for him. You could be right with the legal stuff. It just doesn't seem all that likely he'll be your boss anytime soon and as far as national media coverage is concerned it would be a bolt from the blue if he did. I mean, who outside of fans of Francise and City are even aware of MMs interest?

Fair enough they know me so suppose there is slight interest from them (So they can laugh at me) but Man Utd, Chelsea, Derby, Wolves fans.
renards Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Withdraw the interest ASAP. You had the chance now FECK OFF!!
Matt Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Withdraw the interest ASAP.You had the chance now FECK OFF!! Exactly, It's probably no loss to Ince anyway (And certainly good news for MK Dons) but i'd say look yey or nay? I want an answer now, whether you want the job or not your seconds/minutes/day's away from losing your chance. Fuk em, It may be cutting our noses of to spite our face but we're going no-where with it as it stands are we.
He's not bald Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Well don't we look silly! No change there then!
Number 6 Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Big Sam got 20% of votes by Leicester fans? Are we that deluded? I think Milan is in a real tough spot now. The Ince thing has coe out and many Leicester fans really want him to take charge, but he has set himself a deadline to appoint a manager (this weekend). I feel either way now fans will get on his back, because if we are going to get Ince, I don't think it will be until Blackburn have appointed their manager.

There's always a few nutters. Trouble is our Chairman and Chief Exec are two of them. Worrying times these. Incidentally have Blackburn issued a deadline for their appointment ?
