ASH17LCFC Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 Am i the only one who doesn't want Ince as manager ? The guy has had 2 years experince for a start. Ok he kept a crap side up and got someone promoted but he's hardly Billy Davies. Remember Taylor got Hull up twice, does that mean he's better then Ince ? Please just because he has a stupid Nickname and Played for England alot. That doesn't make him a good manager. Plus anyone else think he was abit of a tart when he was playing for Wolves ?
RedOnRed Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 I spend ages on the betting exchanges laying all and sundry. Don't back anything unless overpriced, and then only to lay again for lower odds. I've made my money on this market by laying Allardyce and Shearer at low prices. Manager markets are very volatile as all the lemmings come charging in at the slightest rumour from news items and the tabloids. I know nothing about betting. Sounds like I could learn a thing or two off you there. Are you often flush or do you lose your shirt a lot and get taken to the cleaners? Just a bit of betting parlance i've aquired. Yes Macclesfield are a pretty crap club but they were all but dead and buried until he kept them up and this season he did effortlessly what Allen should've done for us last year and that was even after us losing our two main goal scorers - McLeod and Platt. The one simple thing we needed most was a decent keeper which Allen never addressed. Oh, and tactics and passing.

Get caught occasionally but have been making reasonable money for years. The "secret" is not to be greedy. Events that take a while to finish, like Golf and Manager markets, are the most lucrative for me because you have time to rectify any mistake. Flat racing, therefore, is a waste of time for my strategy.

Flat racing, therefore, is a waste of time for my strategy. It looks like there's a real science to it TBH. It's all the odds that get me, 2-1 and stuff that's OK but when you get odds like 17-5, evens and god knows what else jargon which I have no idea about, I just know I better stay clear.
Chrysalis Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 Here is my take. hughes outgoing blackburn manager ex team mate of ince its not beyond the realms of possibility blackburn asking hughes who he reccomends as a replacement. most facts would suggest no chance of ince coming here, but he hasnt blown us off saying no which I find very suspicous. I dont know mk dons scenario, if they have no or very little money to spend then ince may feel he cant take the club further and try leics as a next step up the ladder, moving here is risky it can kill his managerial career like MA2 but given our recent success he can be seen as stabilising a club in freefall. Our club isnt a path to ruin tho it got megson up and running again he has found himself at a premiership club so for ince I think it isnt a that simple decision to make.
l444ry Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 Who you going for in the US Open then? I am cheering on Sergio Anyone who can make me a shilling. Would have thought that Woods might be a good "lay" at 4.4. He's had a break for his knee operation and the course won't take any prisoners. There must come a time during the four days when you could back him for higher than you layed him for.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 I'm sure Ince is 'flattered' to be linked with the Blackburn job but let's face it, he only has two years' experience at League Two. He's up against managers like Sam Allardyce (turned Bolton in UEFA Cup perennials) and Steve McClaren (took Boro to their first silverware and the UEFA Cup final in successive seasons). Also, unless I'm mistaken, Ince doesn't have his UEFA A coaching badge, meaning he would need special dispensation to manage in the Premiership. All these factors mean that, in spite of the media hype, Paul Ince is very much an outsider for the Blackburn job. As for him coming here, I think it's possible but not probable. He could see us as a club with history, a good fanbase, great potential and a board that will give financial backing. We do have a great deal of attributes that MK Dons don't have without question. However, MK seem determined to become a big club in the future and Ince would have greater job security there than here. I think it's a 60-40 decision in favour of him staying where he is, but hope I'm wrong.
DanTheFox07 Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 To be honest im bored of The Ince thing now and thats before weve been granted permission to talk to him. Ive changed my tune about Ince now, i think he would be to inexperienced to manage us, yes he is a winner and has done well in previous position`s but again the expectation at this Club is great and could he shoulder that where holloway failed to? i have my doubts. Out of all the managers weve been linked with I have to say the best option we hav to go with is Davies, clearly not a bad manager over nite, you only have to look at his c.v and he mentioned how derby were in the premiership when they didnt have the foundation`s to be up there. Grayson for me is a good manager but I think that he would have an emotional attatchment to this club as he played for us years ago, So I don`t think Grayson should be considered in my opinion! Going back to Ince and everyone clearly mention`s how we would be a stepping stone and We don`t want that as supporters do we? lets say he was successful and then left after getting us up to the championship next season for example! Not the way forward for me. Don`t want to be negative also but I think we should all look at league one next season and believe that it`s not going to be A walk in the park, we are already far behind as each day goes by and the competition are a step ahead with there preparation`s for next season. The new manager needs to come in and install a new system and get rid of dead wood he doesn`t want! Motivate the players that didn`t perform last season for example Fryatt who should be as many people have mentioned at his level in league one. One thing is for sure in any league you need goalscorers, so we need to find something pre season upfront and not from what we have already! anyway I am eagerly awaiting The appointment of our New Man as all of us are lets hope mandaric doesnt waste anymore time chasing Ince if he hasn`t interviewed by the end of this week.
Raj Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Didnt MM set a deadline of 12th June (latest) for his search for our latest nonentity of a manager. After such a wait i aint gonna accept anything short of that handsome German Manager!! Julian Joachim Josh Low's Blue and White Army!!
RedOnRed Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 It's being reported on our site that most bookies have suspended betting on Ince going to Blackburn.
Kopfox Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 It's being reported on our site that most bookies have suspended betting on Ince going to Blackburn. Media reports say thet Shearer is not interested and that leaves the door open for Big Sam, so who knows. As far as Ince for us is concerned, I would forget him, it does not take this long to say yes or no, so smacks of indecision on his part, also I think we need a manager with proven abilities over the years, not someone who still has'nt completed his training period.

Matt Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 It's being reported on our site that most bookies have suspended betting on Ince going to Blackburn. Means nothing. Wasn't betting suspended on us appointing Ince last year or something then Martin Allen was appointed. Also i'm not sure whether they would do this but would they have suspended betting on Ince because he has publicly stated he has not been contacted?
MikeyT Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 Ince flattered by Rovers MK Dons boss insists he has not been approached Paul Ince admits he is flattered to be linked with the vacant manager's job at Blackburn, but insists there has been no contact from the Premier League club. The former Manchester United midfielder is rated amongst the most promising young managers in English football having impressed first at Macclesfield and then in guiding current employers MK Dons to League One last season. It is the job he has done at MK Dons that has reportedly put him in contention for the Ewood Park hot-seat, with Sam Allardyce and Alan Shearer also thought to be leading contenders. No contact Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has also made his admiration for Ince known publicly in the last few weeks, but the former England international insists he is focussed on preparing for next season with the Dons. "I've not spoken to Blackburn," Ince told Five Live. "It's flattering to be linked with any job, especially in the Premier League, so it goes to show that I have done OK in my management career. "There's nothing concrete (to the Blackburn link). I'm not sure what the situation is and in the next two or three days I'll probably have a better idea of what's going on. "I believe in time I will get to the Premier League, it's just a case of when I want to take that leap. At the moment I'm enjoying my time in Milton Keynes. "We had a wonderful season last year and as I sit here I am preparing for next season so we'll see what happens

Think betting was suspended on either grayson or davies last week. and then it reopened.
l444ry Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 It's being reported on our site that most bookies have suspended betting on Ince going to Blackburn. Probably just a little local thing. If anything was happening it would be reflected on the exchanges first. It hasn't yet so this is probably local bookies reducing their risk. Where's Fox123 when you need him?
Babylon Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 It's getting to the point that we need an answer or we move on.
Ric Flair Posted 12 June 2008 Posted 12 June 2008 It's getting to the point that we need an answer or we move on. Absolutely. Have we even interviewed anyone else yet? Who are these other 4 fookers? I'm starting to get very worried.
