bald reynard Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 What part of “But I am not giving up on it. He is a strong candidate and is definitely someone we want to talk to.” makes you think he has given up? It's not what he says, it's what he MEANS. I would have thought you of all people should know we have to read MM 'between the lines' - he just sounds like he's moving on, in thought (if not deed) and although says, "he is a strong candidate and is definitely someone we want to talk to", that makes me think, 'in an ideal world' / would LIKE to speak, Mandy knows it won't happen. Besides, have you heard what Ince said to 5 Live about being linked with the Blackburn job, but "concentrating on preparing MKD for the new season" - nothing about City. HE AIN'T COMING TO US !

Unless there is something going on in the background that we don t know about, I would tell Ince we are no longer interested, push off, there are other fish in the sea.

The reason Leicester weren't mentioned by Ince is because he was answering a direct question regarding Blackburn. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the link yet, Mr. Reynard.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 Milan expects does he? Well Admiral Horatio Nelson expected every man to do his duty. However, during the battle of Trafalgar Petty Officer George "Leadswinger" Ponsonby on board the Lady Charlotte was playing with his one-eyed wrinkle lap dog. No, that's not a euphamism. He had smuggled said canine on board at Portsmouth docks, having only recently taken pity on the mangy curr earlier that afternoon whilst drinking in the Mallard in the Reeds Tavern. The dog had lost it's eye because some blackguard during one of the pressgangs' regular "recruitment" programmes had proved resistant to persuasion and during the ensuing fight the poor little chap (the puppy, not the new recruit), leapt up onto the bar just as a Skein Dhu was hurtling through the air intended for Midshipman Charley "Berkshire Hunt" Tyms. Petty Officer Ponsonby had seen none of this, but was assured the story was absolutely genuine and true (which of course made it twice as certain!). Thus he secreted the dog about his person and smuggled it aboard ship just before the battle. Was it his fault that the mutt was sea-sick? Furthermore, it leapt out of it's wrinkly, flea-bitten skin at every cannon retort, whimpering and whining in between shots. They only way young George could placte the poor mongrel was to make a toy out of two pieces of flint, some fuse wire and a small powderhorn. The Lady Charlotte was lost with all hands on that fateful day, 21st October 1805. Witnesses reported that though the ship was able to fire several volleys of cannon fire, only one was returned, seeming to fall considerably short of the doomed ship. There was however an explosion just below the waterline, roughly in the area of the Petty Officer's quarters. My point is expects doesn't always get!
Lillehamring Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 http://www.rivals.net/news/pgarticle.aspx?...77472&id=54 interesting, that they discuss this as 'speculation', yet make it known we have made an offer... yet ince comments on these rumours but not our offer, and he hardly sounds convinced about his future... "I'm not sure what the situation is and in the next two or three days I'll probably have a better idea of what's going on. I believe in time I will get to the Premier League it's just a case of when I want to take that leap," said the 37-year-old."
Daggers Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 He was being interviewed about Ronaldo moving to Real, there was no mention of City and he laughed when asked about Blackburn. The rest is pretty much as the interview ran. They didn't ask him about us so why would he mention it? The reason Leicester weren't mentioned by Ince is because he was answering a direct question regarding Blackburn. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the link yet, Mr. Reynard. Sooner or later the penny will drop...
Babylon Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 Sooner or later the penny will drop... I wouldn't bet on it.

Expect approaches to be made to Salmon Allardyce, Herring Berg and Simon Grayling.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 That put him in his plaice Stop carping about it, I just about haddock nough of this! I thought it was brill! I mean those were the dace eh? Guppy used to zip around the pitch like he was on skates, and he could pass the ball like a bream, right on the head of the sole player in the box. Cod only knows when we'll get a player like him again. Some say Cole, he (oooooh, tenuous!) was good, I mean, he was never koi, ask Jordan. On a scale of one to ten I know I rudd. I'd like Gary Mac. Gary Mac will (getting worse) sort us out! Or Ferguson... no not Alex, nor Duncan; Barry Ferguson. I hear we're going to talk to Barry Monday. I'm going to mullet over. Ain't fish great!
lifted*fox Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 Just caught a very quick clip on BBC Radio 1 on the way home from work stating that Paul Ince has been rumoured to be going to Blackburn, but he's denied any talks with the club at this stage. Thought you'd like to know.
RedOnRed Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 According to news filtering through on one of our forums Leicester City have so far made the only official approach for Ince but so far he's just gone on record as aknowledging and being flattered by being connected to Blackburn - despite no approach by them. I know that's not big news, but it was straight from our club when someone tried to find out what was going on. I'm sure he's going to talk to your club at some point though. If there's interest he's got to.

Daggers Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 I can't see the porpoise to the bickering and I think we should stop whaling on each other while we wait to sea if Milan can land something big.

l444ry Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 Money coming for Ince on Betfair. Not much yet but enough to suggest something is afoot.
RedOnRed Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 Money coming for Ince on Betfair. Not much yet but enough to suggest something is afoot. Are you having a flutter?
Number 6 Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 I presume you mean for the Bburn job? There will be money on him for that as Shearer has ruled himself out.
l444ry Posted 11 June 2008 Posted 11 June 2008 Are you having a flutter? I spend ages on the betting exchanges laying all and sundry. Don't back anything unless overpriced, and then only to lay again for lower odds. I've made my money on this market by laying Allardyce and Shearer at low prices. Manager markets are very volatile as all the lemmings come charging in at the slightest rumour from news items and the tabloids.
