Istanbul tomorrow with girl.

Sorted out 3 nights in a 4* and flights for £125 each. Managed to find a dubstep night tomorrow then Gilles Peterson is playing on Saturday, might check that out. Also just noticed Fenerbahce are at home.... Hmmm, I wonder if I can persuade the lady! Doubt it.

Sounds awesome mate - have a good one.

I'm going to Virginia in May to see my girlfriend's family and Denver in June to my cousin's wedding. Hoping to get a week in Scotland maybe in August and then MAYBE a bit of travelling in October to somewhere in Latin America, I still fancy Ecuador.

Off to US Of A again in two weeks!

Supposed to go to San Diego for a weekend course (which should of course extend to at least one week off) around 21st March. But overall it seems rather expensive and it would cost me in lost income...

Hmmm...

I was in San Diego in 2001. Despite only being 17 at the time I was well gutted I didn't go to Las Vegas.

I've been to both. Went to Las Vegas on my own for a couple of days.

Not the place to go by yourself, especially considering the kind of room they gave me!

Well you could probablt get a flight for around £300.

Problem at the moment is the exchange rate is pretty bad against the pound. For a week plus hotel, you're looking at least £900. But it depends really, cost of going out and food varies from State to State. You can still do pretty well on the cheap out there.

But this is my 3rd trip out there in 6months, i've a spent total of 55 days over there in the last few months.

Exchange rate is obviously very bad at the moment. Perhaps I could get free accommodation, but even so... you then have to travel around the place...

Sounds like you are spending far too much time over there :giggle:

Yeah, well i've had to. It's my last trip there for a while though after this one.

I've seen a hell of a lot of the country. It's been really good, but costly.

If you can get free accomodation them it's sweet. We've only stayed in couple of hotels for just for a few nights in that time.

I'm jealous. I'd love to go to Istanbul. Might have to look into it as a more serious option for a long weekend. Tempted by Marrakech as well though. :/

Istanbul was brilliant.

Got wasted on Efes, ate a ridiculous amount of kebabs, did a boat tour up the Bosphorus to the Black Sea, haggled with some market sellers, saw some mosques, bought a water pipe, smoked too many Camel Lights, spent a shitload of money and drank some tea.

Just booked a weekend in Amsterdam at the end of May. Third time I've been there, what a place.

So, nicely prepared for Reading then?

In a word. No.

I'm debating whether to do it or not. The furthest I've gone so far is 8km in the gym which is pathetic. I'm going to have a go at a 60-90 minute run this weekend and see how that goes. If it goes horrendously (as expected) then there's pretty much no point me doing the half, if it goes well (which will be a miracle) then I'll be there on the starting line with you.

Stag doo in madrid for 3 nights on the 9th April...................unfortunately i'm still off the booze, I think i'm gonna be in for a shock!!!

I wouldn't worry. It's semana santa, half the bars here will be shut anyway.

Has anyone been to Ecuador or Peru before? Trying to piece together the beginings of a trip over there in the autumn... knowledge on the area is still pretty sketchy right now though.

Only just saw these! Gotta love Turkey.

Guessing you didn't go to Fener in the end? Drunk on Efes sounds familiar :giggle:
