Am I the only one who thinks we should have kept them?

I thought that they were pretty good and could easily have been an assset in L1.

I still think Bori looked pretty good, but I don't think now is the right time to integrate 2 Eastern Europeans into our squad. If we get Bell we will together with the youngsters have some decent wingers around.

I liked that foreign touch, but I don't think now is the right time.

I'd agree with that, although I think our chances of signing David Bell are extremley slim with Championship clubs seeming interested.

I actually liked the Hungarians to be honest, thought Holloway used them poorly though. Bori seemed to get dropped for no real reason when he was playing well and when we used Laczko correctly he did look a decent player, only his final ball was a let down on more than one occasion.

As you say though, now probably isn't the best time to intergrate them into the squad. Would they be up for a scrap in League 1? I doubt it very much.

I'm not sure we really needed them but I think they were good enough for League One, maybe even the Championship.

The biggest problem with - particularly Lackzo Zsolt - was he wanted to play football. This wasn't a concept that really interested Holloway. Zsolt would have been a lot happier in a side that got the ball down and played it about - it's no coincidence his best game for us was in our best passing, footballing performance of the season. We looked like another team against Cov, and he looked fantastic.

Similar can be said of Oakley, really. We've done it to countless players - interesting attacking players made to look like total dross in a hoofball side of uninspired muppets. I really, really hope the same doesn't happen to Gradel.

They'd get the shit kicked out of them in league 1. Oh yeah, bar one game, they were shit anyway. Rid please!

This may sound stupid, but I think the pitch hindered them. Look at the Palace game, they could hardly run with the ball. Give them a proper playing surface and they might produce performances like against Coventry most weeks.

We shouldn't have kept them. Maybe Laczko but not Bori. Well, I'm not sure TBH. But I just don't think they can settle into the English game.

Laczko frustrated the hell out of me. I thought he was a pretty decent player but his final delivery let him down. I'll always remember Watford away when he took people on, got into a crossing position and didn't put in one decent cross.

I thought they both looked OK when they first came in, but struggled with injuries and consistency when Holloway played them out of position.

Bori got dropped for pretty much no reason when he was playing well, no wonder he didn't really settle in.

If they're given a chance they might.

What frustrates me is that they were crap and people still try and find excuses for them.... the pitch was bad, they aren't used to our level of football etc etc ..... they're just shite and im glad they got sent home!! Players like Barry Hayles were consistantly better than those two and he got slated every game, even when he put in a decent performance.

I reckon both worth a shout. with a pitch that's not riddled wih treches they may have impact.

and we need one player with long hair. At least.

I agree with that.

Lackzo was nowhere near good enough for me. One good game he had which just happened to be his first and from then on he was pretty much a donkey.

As for Bori, he wasn't so bad but still not up to it for me.

We can do better than both of them.

Agreed, they were crap.

We should of kept them.

Countless times Holloway stuck to route one straight to Howard and Bori and Zsolt didn't even get much of the ball. They proved what they could do at Coventry when they got the ball. Just a shame Holloway's tactics wasn't good enough for the Hungarians.

They were given their chance and they didnt take it! Take away that Coventry game and what did Laczko ever do for us? I rate him up their with Junior Lewis as one of our worst ever players!

His biggest problem was not realising that for 88 minutes of a game he wasn't in or around possession of the ball. Therefore, his 2 minutes was/is a luxury .... and not a very good luxury at that!!!

Certainly not as good as a Magnum bar from the freezer - now that's good luxury.

They were both shit.

They were both alright against Coventry (h), but after that never showed anything. We've got better youth players in the same positions.

That argument only works if they never played football anywhere else. The pitch at Cov was fine but Salty put in as dire a performance in his 45 minutes as I believe could have been possible.

Evening all. I've been reading these boards for a little while and thought it was time to contribute at least a little something, so here is my first post (probably) of many.

The Hungarians were frustrating. You could see the potential but I think a foreign style of play will suit them better. They need time on the ball, and little (if any) physical contact. I just can't see the more physical style of League One football either suiting or interesting them. Therefore we had little option really than to get rid. I'm sure they may prosper better elsewhere, in a country where the football is a lot slower and less physical.

Welcome Joel. :scarf:

You can construct coherent sentences and put over well-formed arguments. There's no place for you here! :P

But was one of very few players who have recieved a standing ovation from supporters?

Also, you've mis-read my point. I was talking about Holloways tactics and how they didn't adjust which is understandable. How would you feel going in a different country not knowing the language and being thrown in the deep end?
