Pegula loses out to Vondrousova.

Think the roof closure play suspension affected her. She was picking up some momentum before that.

Why do they suspend play when closing the roof? Unless it starts raining they can just carry on while it closes can't they?

My understanding is it’s not just about closing the roof, they also have to make sure the air conditioning has kicked in adequately so the playing conditions are right

Why dont they just close the roof at the start of the days play?  Rain was predicted.

They want an outdoor situation for as many matches as possible as much as humanly possible, so they consider the delay for closing the roof a suitable price to pay for that.

Very  impressive win for Svitolina

She will probably be the  crowd and media favourite to win the title now.

For sure! And in my opinion at least rightly so!

With the players left, Svitolina vs Jabeur would make for a likeable final.

Svitolina vs Sabalenka or Rybakina would be the most awkward final in Tennis history.

Has she supported the war having been born in Russia ?

Just spotted James Blake is playing invitational doubles this year. If you ever want to read an inspiring book, get yourself a copy of his autobiography. I was really pleased to have the opportunity to get my copy signed one year at Wimbledon

Nope, but it would be intriguing to see how the crowd & Svitolina would react knowing full well she’s Russian.

Good performance by Sinner.

First ever GS semi final .

Sabalenka really upped her game and power when 4/2 down in the 2nd or did Keys lose her nerve ?

Eubanks getting the better of Medvedev mentally and physically.

There's usually one wildcard bloke who has the tourney of their lives and makes a semifinal appearance. Seems like this year it's him.

Not any more. Needs to pull himself together.
