stez Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 If you can remember it you weren't there, maaaaaaaan. i can remember it all, because me and pete had a tenner between us to last the 3 and a bit days! of course if i knew the good name of glastonbury would be sullied by a non-guitar based musical combo i would've never gone.
stez Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 jay z = class act, bless him for not knowing the words though!
Nationwider Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 Loving Jay-Z's set on the red button tonight. fook Gallagher, the narrow-minded twat.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 Jay Z absolutely killed it tonight. Just wish Oasis would have had to follow that.
Bert Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Jay-Z is top. Just a shame these Indie lovers are too arrogant and ignorant too see how good he is.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Jay Z absolutely killed it tonight. Just wish Oasis would have had to follow that. For all their talents Oasis are twats, and, imo, aren't that good anymore, and will struggle to recapture the form of the 90s. Their only song that's come close to their peak since the turn of the century is "Stop Crying Your Heart Out". Note - Your avatar kills it. If we sign Nicky Adams I'll combust. He's a cracking player. Mentioned him in "League One Wishlist" a while ago.
Sparky Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Jay-Z is top. Just a shame these Indie lovers are too arrogant and ignorant too see how good he is. Its only peoples personel opinion mate , just like yours is that indie is shit . I wouldnt go and see Jay -z if he was playing in my back yard . Im not arrogant about Jay-z , ive tried to listen to his music but in MY OPINION its rank
Jay Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Jay Z absolutely killed it tonight. Just wish Oasis would have had to follow that. massive massive crowd turned up to watch him and within about 25 seconds he had them eating out of his hands!! class performance some of his freestyling was excellent as well
stez Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Jay-Z is top. Just a shame these Indie lovers are too arrogant and ignorant too see how good he is. shame people have to put other people in pigeon holes too.
purpleronnie Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Have to say dont like Jay z, and most popular hip hop is just terrible. I'm all for him being there though, more variety the better. I guess Noel was just jealous, Oasis arent doing to well these days. Dont look back in anger lads.
Guest Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 No festival line up is going to please everyone. Isn't that half the fun though, having artists there that you wouldn't normally see/don't like?
Jay Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 No festival line up is going to please everyone. Isn't that half the fun though, having artists there that you wouldn't normally see/don't like? Exactly and Glastonbury more than most if you don't like a band then you have about another 14 stages to choose from
Webbo Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Being an old fart, if it isn't played on Radio 2 I don't normally listen but I have to say that Jay Z was brilliant last night, far better than that shambling wreck Amy Winehouse murdering old Specials' songs.
Matt Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Amy Winehouse needs to be put down. As for Jay Z as I said before some of his set was good last night, very good, great start, great finish the bit in the middle I wasn't so keen on. As I was saying in my first posts in this thread some of his stuff I think is ok, other stuff I don't. All the rumours of calibrations with Beyonce and Linkin Park, e.t.c wouldn't have gone a miss though.

Jay Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Jay-Z = God. to be honest I wouldn't go quite that far....
Webbo Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 which 1 did she do ? please say she didnt destroy too much too young Hey little rich girl and A message to you Rudy.I turned over half way through so she might have done more.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 I thought Amy Winehouse was great. Or more accurately, her band are superb and she is hilarious. I've seen her live twice and she's actually more interesting these days given how unpredictable she is than the pre-mental drugs days. I hope she sorts herself out obviously but I'd rather watch her than any number of nondescript guitar bands.
Samilktray Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Just finished watching Jay-Z's performance and it was absolutely brilliant. Big Pimpin was my probably my favourite song he performed. Also the acapella of Minority Report with Bush in the background was pretty powerful.
James. Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Amy Winehouse needs to be put down. No. The media should be put down. Just finished watching Jay-Z's performance and it was absolutely brilliant.Big Pimpin was my probably my favourite song he performed. Do you have a link to it? I can't find it on BBC, they just have photos. Or maybe you used Sky+?
Durnerz Posted 29 June 2008 Posted 29 June 2008 Anyone see Jay-Z's interview on Jonothan Woss? Hes one boring bugger. Seems the kind of bloke who locks himself away in a room and writes songs constantly.
