SamL Posted 20 July 2008 Posted 20 July 2008 England are now 2 down, about 265ish behind. We need a few big innings just to draw this game or else it could turn out to be a hammering.
Tevez Posted 20 July 2008 Posted 20 July 2008 I got mullered at the cricket piss up tonight took a career best figures of 1-30 tho
The People's Hero Posted 21 July 2008 Author Posted 21 July 2008 My team got battered yesterday! Absolutely battered. I personally had a good day - but the team was sh it.
SamL Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Anderson is hanging on in there at the moment, he's doing his job well. We're relying on Cook to get a big score today but it won't be enough unless some other people get big scores as well.
Brainy Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Paul Harris bowling, haven't seen him do anything for about a week now.
SamL Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Paul Harris bowling, haven't seen him do anything for about a week now. He's just a slow bowler, much the same as Giles used to be. He doesn't spin the ball a whole lot and doesn't extract anything from the pitch. He's just a steady bowler at best who will tie an end down. If I'm honest, I can't see him causing our batsmen any problems.
SamL Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Steyn has finally got his man, good play by Anderson though. Pietersen and Cook have gotta bat the day.
SamL Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Pietersen has gone. This wasn't the time to lose 2 wickets.
billyfox1 Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 nice one KP. 3 4's and caught off 5 balls. that's the way to stay in bat for 2 days
SamL Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 nice one KP. 3 4's and caught off 5 balls. that's the way to stay in bat for 2 days He was right to go for the fours, but the ball that got him out he should have left. Poor play by KP.
Sods Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Really starting to hate KP. Cant understand whats going through the lads head. Yes its the way he plays but I just think he puts himself before the team on to many occasions.

The People's Hero Posted 21 July 2008 Author Posted 21 July 2008 KP isn't much of a team player. He's a maverick - but worth his place.
Finnegan Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 I'm the first to admit I don't know much about cricket, but surely part of being a great test-match batsman is control and a sense of tactics as well as just being able to slog fours and sixes. KP strikes me as being someone who could be great - but has a hell of a lot of maturing to do. How many times has he got himself out fairly needlessly for England?

How many times has he got himself out fairly needlessly for England? Absolutely, Pietersen has unbelievable natural talent, but he's too erratic. I like his style, he get's the crowds in. It's just frustrating that if he could add that discipline to his game, then he would be one hell of a batsmen. Still nothing better in cricket than watching him when he's got his eye in.
SamL Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Cook has gone. It would be a good time for Ambrose and Flintoff to play themselves into a bit of form. We could do with a really big innings from both, I'm not sure how likely it is though.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 We've finally found a bowler in Broad who can score runs but he doesn't take enough wickets
