The People's Hero Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 I hate Panic at the Disco because they seem to have somehow been accepted and not completely rejected the genuine 'indie' scene in some parts. How they've done it I don't know because they're a joke.
Nationwider Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 In terms of current-ish songs, I'm loving: Ladyhawke - Paris Is Burning MGMT - Electric Feel The Shortwave Set - Glitches n Bugs Really want to get the Neon Neon album soon. Listening to loads of The Kinks at the moment. What a brilliant songwriter Ray Davies is/was.
Finnegan Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 Andrew WK :worship: & Vin Garbutt - Man of the Earth.
Jack Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 Have to have as much Blink as possible I have been listening to JME's new album quite a bit and like that.

How they've done it I don't know because they're a joke. Here here, us Dylan fans think alike. (thats Bob Dylan BTW) Have to say though during the last few years 'Indie' music has pretty much dissapeared, I mean if The Wombats, The Kooks, Pigeon Detectives are now called Indie....then theres little hope. Its just one turgid love song after another...Boring, you would think in these times with all that is going on some groups 'Indie' would have something more to say.
Samilktray Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 Have to have as much Blink as possible I have been listening to JME's new album quite a bit and like that. I would of said his album too but its got me listening to his older mixtapes again and I'm enjoying them a lot more.
purpleronnie Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 Arlo Guthrie - Alice's Restaurant. I bought Woody Guthries 'This Machine Kills Facists' boxset last week, amazing. Not sure how the youngsters would like that though.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 'Rollin' Dany' by The Fall. I can't stop listening to them
Daggers Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 I bought Woody Guthries 'This Machine Kills Facists' boxset last week, amazing. Not sure how the youngsters would like that though. Nor anyone older than a youngster. The odd track for historical merit - fine...but a whole bloody box-set? Blimey, good luck with that.
The People's Hero Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 Nor anyone older than a youngster. The odd track for historical merit - fine...but a whole bloody box-set? Blimey, good luck with that. Give it more than a quick listen mate - it's top stuff.
Daggers Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 Give it more than a quick listen mate - it's top stuff. I've been there. Like Leonard Cohen, the odd song is fine but more that one is simply dreadful. Same for Bob as well, for me. Sorry.
ASH17LCFC Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 Say what you want but seriously Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me - George Michael Elton John. Tis a wicked song.
purpleronnie Posted 17 July 2008 Posted 17 July 2008 I've been there.Like Leonard Cohen, the odd song is fine but more that one is simply dreadful. Same for Bob as well, for me. Sorry. Love dylan, lyrically brilliant and has something to say, but never really like Cohen.
Daggers Posted 18 July 2008 Posted 18 July 2008 Love dylan, lyrically brilliant and has something to say I just wish he'd say it in a way mildly less annoying than a Birmingham accent.
Raj Posted 19 July 2008 Posted 19 July 2008 Dont know who does it or what but its something like this "Come and dance with me...come dance with me...come on dance with me...du.du.du.du.du.du...come on dance with me..take you there...du.du.dudu.du.."

Simi Posted 19 July 2008 Posted 19 July 2008 I'm really not sure. Possibly 'Beware of the Boys' Pujabi MC ft Jay Z or ' A Billi' - Jay Z. But then again, it could be 'America' - Nas.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 19 July 2008 Posted 19 July 2008 This week I 'ave been mostly listening to; Pete Philly & Perquisite - Cheeky Boat Club - Memories Errors - Mr Milk Pete Rock & CL Smooth - Straighten It Out I'd recommend any of them extremely highly.
James. Posted 19 July 2008 Posted 19 July 2008 Pete Philly & Perquisite - Cheeky :w00t: How good are they? Have you got the albums yet? Mindstate and Mystery Repeats. Amazing.
