Beckham Lampard Lennon Downing Wright-Phillips Woodgate Crouch Heskey What would yours be then.....?
Stevosevic Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 I don't understand all of this Barry bum love, but if everyone is fit... Green - like to see him given a chance Richards Ferdinand Terry A.Cole Gerrard Hargreaves Lampard J.Cole Crouch Rooney Just shows our lack of qualty in attacking positions.

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 21 August 2008 Author Posted 21 August 2008 I forgot about Richards In response to Barry, I suppose its out of hom or Hargreaves for the holding role...?
General Smuts Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Is J Cole left winger? For Chelsea he plays on the left of 2 attacking midfielders behind the striker (with Deco and Drogba when he's fit) And for England he has traditionally played on the left ahead of Downing.
Father Ted Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 James Richards Ferdinand Terry BridgeWright-Phillips Hargreaves Gerrard J.ColeRooney Defoe (Owen, when fit)
Koke Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Hart Richards Ferdinand Terry A. Cole Gerrard Hargreaves Lampard Bentley Rooney J. Cole We dont have any out-and-out wingers, so we might as well use what we got to our advantage. Rooney and Joe Cole are our most gifted players and they should start under any circumstances.

Ric Flair Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 James Richards Ferdinand Terry Cole Bentley Gerrard Hargreaves Young Agbonlahor Rooney Really struggling with the attack, plus Joe Cole has always done well for England.
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Does anyone else think that our lack of strikers isn't a problem and we should look to utilise our abundance of talented central midfielders to avert this. Playing two attacking midfielders behind rooney would work I think.
Kilworthfox Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 JamesRichards Terry Ferdinand A. Cole Beckham Lampard Barry J. Cole Crouch Rooney No Gerrard because he's sh*te for England! Not shite but not as he plays for liverpool. I don't see how you can single him out however as there are many players who you could say this about, Lampard, A Cole, Rooney, James............

Playing two attacking midfielders behind rooney would work I think. I don't believe that this is a solution! Rooney is not an out & out goal scorer. I assume that you are speaking of Gerrard & Lampard and for me there can only be 1 "ard" in any 11. Correct me if I am wrong plz. The striking options are actually very good IMO. Owen & Heskey works well, I believe Rooney is best to drop off and leave a pacey or big man up front possibly Agbonlahor or Heskey / Crouch. There are many options for England but is seems that the x11 is becoming like England cricket used to be, where the big names only get the oppertunities over & over again to contiually show that they together are not a unit but the best individual club players put into a 4-4-2 which they don't fit.

And Beckham, Rooney and the fat fraudster aren't? When everyone is fit (which admittedly is not often) the team should be this: Kirkland Richards Terry Ferdinand Bridge Hargreaves Carrick J. Cole Agbonlahor Owen A. Young Get rid of the egos and the chosen men!
Corky Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 My team would be: Kirkland Richards Ferdinand Terry Arse Cole Bentley Gerrard Barry J Cole Heskey Owen

sdb Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 Kirkland Richards - Rio - terry - Cole Bentley - Barry - Gerrard - Cole Heskey - Rooney Strikers are tough because we don't have any fit/in form predatory strikers. Defoe perhaps but i don't think he's quite international quality. Same could be said for Heskey but we need different options in the side and i still rate him higher than Ashton and Crouch when on form. I'd try and get Rooney playing more central and off defenders shoulders - he was everywhere but in the box last night.

Heskey played very well last night, winning the ball in the air alot, and giving some good opertunities which were not taken by other players notably Downing.
