Stuliasz Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Matty Fryatt made up for narrowly missing out on the man of the match award to Max Gradel on the opening day by narrowly beating fellow striker Steve Howard to the man of the match award against Tranmere Rovers. Another rock solid display from Liverpool loanee Jack Hobbs saw him claim third place after claiming man of the match awards in both of the previous two games. It was the youngsters once again who failed to win the votes of the fans with Levi Porter on his full return to the city side very narrowly beating Andy King to the flop of the match award. DB11 Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 I like your little paragraphs at the beginning. It's journalistic like and better than just showing the results
Manwell Pablo Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 I disagree heavily. It's all about Matty Dave.....all about Matty.
lildave3 Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 It's all about Matty Dave.....all about Matty. Absolute bollocks.
Daggers Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Your Fryatt is a justifiable MOM - any other result would be a farce of Zimbabwean proportions.
Nationwider Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Nice to see the club's long-term strategy of buying League One-standard strikers is really starting to pay off.
davieG Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 I'm livid DavieG isn't one of the harshest voters. Livid, I'm fooking catatonic - my reputation is in tatters. Remember this the next time someone thinks of calling me a miserable bastard.
Jonezy Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 This is excellent stuff for us foreign foxes! Thanks. How is the top voter calculated/done?
Thracian Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 New boy syndrome to the fore again. How Martin gets up to ninth with an indifferent performance and rank bad kicking I've no idea.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 New boy syndrome to the fore again. How Martin gets up to ninth with an indifferent performance and rank bad kicking I've no idea. 9th out of 13 and he played the full game and only conceding 1 goal, its not like he was 3rd or 4th best

Gotta disagree with you there Thrac. He wasn't my MOTM but he was one of our better players I thought. Yes he had some poor kicking but on the whole I thought he looked composed and read the game well, and was always looking to feed the ball quickly back out for counter-attacking opportunities when he had it. Guess this is just further evidence how starkly different the view of the same game can be between people.
Raj Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 After his disappointing seasons,i for one am glad Fryatts started well. Its just what he needs. fat lump.... Seriously.....well Done and long may it continue...atleast he runs around now and agian unlike that other loaf!!!
Ric Flair Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 It's all about Matty Dave.....all about Matty. It's nice to finally see a player we've both championed and stuck up for, finally start to show his worth. There hasn't been many!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 Out of curiosity what would Fryatts goals to minutes ratio be with us i reckon it would be quite good tbh
davieG Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 Out of curiosity what would Fryatts goals to minutes ratio be with us i reckon it would be quite good tbh Depends on whether you include last season: Include = absolutely crap Exclude = excellent
Corky Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 New boy syndrome to the fore again. How Martin gets up to ninth with an indifferent performance and rank bad kicking I've no idea. Apart from two bad kicks and one flap at a cross what else did he do wrong?
Babylon Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 11. Andy King - 6.0412. Levi Porter - 6.02 Ooooops
Babylon Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 Out of curiosity what would Fryatts goals to minutes ratio be with us i reckon it would be quite good tbh Probably worse than Mark De Vries goals to minutes ratio if you don't count this year.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 The thing is his still only 22 so he can still improve
Babylon Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 The thing is his still only 22 so he can still improve He's been living off that for the last 2/3 years. Problem is I think he's out of contract at the end of the season and he'll bugger off on a bosman if he has a good season.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 He's been living off that for the last 2/3 years. Problem is I think he's out of contract at the end of the season and he'll bugger off on a bosman if he has a good season. He can't of said he was 22 three years ago I know what you mean it happens in most sports a young player bursts on to the scene with a good year or two then a couple of poor ones but then usually it starts to click, we can only hope he is one i guess from the games i've seen he seems to get him self in decent positions which as a forward is half the battle. so
Simi Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 Hardly surprising with his two goals, but I didn't think his overall performance was that special compared to a couple of others.
