SamL Posted 4 November 2008 Posted 4 November 2008 Did you hear the news guy last night ?"Will America but a black man in the White House for the first time in America's History?" Seriously, how is that funny? Judging by reports, I think Obama has pretty much got it wrapped up. Although, it ain't over until it's over.
Finnegan Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 McCain scores a touch down... 8-3 Waaaaaaaay too early to even be worth reporting. That looks like a margin but it's actually just two states, one each.
lavrentis Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 So UK time, when are we going to hear who is President?
Alexikokopops Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 So UK time, when are we going to hear who is President? 6am is when the polling closes in Alaska, so sometime after that.
lildave3 Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 I don't understand Politics, nor do I like it. So why do I have ITV on debating this nonsense?
lavrentis Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 6am is when the polling closes in Alaska, so sometime after that. Ah ok. ****, did I just see some American's running?
Smiffy Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 6am is when the polling closes in Alaska, so sometime after that. I think it'll be wrapped up one way or the other before then. California closes around 11pm EST which is 3am GMT. If it comes down to Alaska deciding the race, you may aswell plan on not knowing for another few days because they'll be recounting everything!!!
LeeCovFox Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Results so far suggest that Obama has it in the bag, and probably by some margin. Expect this to be all but wrapped up by 2am.
Fox You Forest Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 I have a feeling the guy on the BBC didn't read the manual on how to use the touchscreen.
LeeCovFox Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 David Dimbleby ranting about American voting procedures as compared to the British version.
LeeCovFox Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Looks like Ohio goes to Obama. The United States will have her first black president.
Raj Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Ladies and Gentleman...Your first Black President of The United states of America........ :appl:
LeeCovFox Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 Now comes the hard part. He has to prove that he is not a politician in the Clinton/Blair mould as I suspect that he may be - all talk and no trousers. In this case I hope I am wrong. The world needs an America on which it can rely and respect, not fear and denigrate.

The world needs an America on which it can rely and respect, not fear and denigrate. I'd be happy with another Clinton! Would certainly make sure my tax dollars are well spent and would get the US out of half a trillion dollars in debt and back into surplus. Yes please! We can sacrifice a virgin every couple of months to keep him happy.

But hopefully with the euphoria, history making and change of becoming the first black president of the Us he can knuckle down and get the economy up and running as thats the thing which affects us the most. Mind you i think the Dude has ALOT of other problems too..... Good Luck Obama!!!
Daggers Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 My word - The Republicans didn't cheat to win this time!
Jordan Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 This is the happiest Election Day (and night) I've ever had.
Monk Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 I am well chuffed. America has something to genuinly be proud of once again. I'm glad the long long campaigning is over, and really hope Obama can make the most of it through the recession it is going to be tough to stay popular.
Zingari Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 i bet there are lots of british people looking for a family ancestral connection to Stanley Ann Dunham
Master Fox Posted 5 November 2008 Posted 5 November 2008 He's black(ish). He'll obviously get caught out when he's cruisin round town eating chicken in his drop top BM.
